The ashes of Eden[closed]

"Morning Raven," Robin replied. "I'm just.... relieved that the crime rate is down." He said lying. He extended his arm to reach for a glass of orange juice he poured prior to picking up the paper. Then three loud knocks came banging on the door. Robin rose an eyebrow. "Who's that at this hour?"

Atlee gave a bright grin. "Hi!" she chirped, pushing out her hand towards Raven. "I'm Terra. I'm a transfer, to Jump City. I'm sure Power Girl must have informed you," she paused to recall Raven's name. She had heard so much of the team over the years, "Raven."

She stepped back and waved a hand over her few bags. "I haven't brought much. And I promise not to be of any trouble. Only here to help!"

Robin was already entering the room. "Did you say Powergirl? What's going on Raven?" The Leader of the team asked inquisitively.

"Excuse me."Atlee interrupted, "But this girl was sent by Power Girl. I'm already a titan." As proof, she rummaged the communicator out of her thigh pocket. "See? Here, you can even call Power Girl and ask. Super Girl, too. I spent some time with her before meeting Power Girl."

(I'm assuming all of the episodes still apply...)

Robin looked at the overenthusiastic Titan. Though he wasn't familiar with her at all he did know of a certain Terra who had caused all of the Teen Titans trouble. This seemed to be a peculiar deja vu. "Terra," he said "welcome to Jump City." He said uneasily.

Atlee noted the uneasiness in his voice, and with sorrow recalled the past Terra's Geo-Force had told her about. "Oh! I'm not--I'm not the other Terra. I'm borrowing the name. Real name is Atlee."

Her smile disappeared. "It was Wonder Girl, sorry. I've met so many of you...Wonder Girl had offered me a spot on your team. I had rejected it, but now...Now I've rethought it. Went back, told Wonder Girl and she gave me this." Atlee held up the communicator, "And sent me off here."

(Just reread Atlee's history. She's done quite a bit.)

Raising an eyebrow, [haha Robin has no eyebrows XD] Robin examined the communicator. "Geez," Robin said almost sounding like he was complaining, "there's so many Titans now its hard to even keep up with all of them." He turned around and headed for the door to the common-room. "C'mon," Robin called to Terra and Raven. "lets get you aquatinted with the Teen Titans."

Atlee, now glad things had gone off without a hitch, lifted up her few bags and hurried to catch up with Robin. "Like I said, I've heard tons and tons about you guys! Where I come from, down under, your team is a legend." She hoped by "Down under" Robin would think Australia, the earthbender still finding humor in that half truth of her underground home.

The two walked down a long hall to the common-room. "You do realize I have no idea who you are." Robin said rather straightforward, with criminals still fresh in his mind. "The only reason why I trust you is because of the communicator. You have to realize Terra; that's a symbol of trust. You must protect the name of the Titans and the name of Justice, Honor, and Truth."

(They just met so he doesn't know her backstory XP)

"Oh." Atlee murmured. Shoot. None of her past friends-Super Girl, Wonder Girl, Power Girl (What the fudge is with ending a name with "Girl"?!)- had informed Robin, and he was the leader.

"I'm from down under, like I said. I have the ability to control rocks, like your past Terra's. In fact, my home is where they came from."Atlee was being extremely careful not to give too much information about her home. "Um...I've stopped the Terror Titans with some of your members. The Dark Side club, too. I guess you should call them, they can explain it better than I can."

Robin looked at her suspiciously. "Never heard of them." Robin said bluntly and coldly. This wasn't his normal self, Robin would usually wake up to a beautiful morning have half of his breakfast Cyborg and Beast Boy prepared, then rush out to fight crime. He felt like he was exerting that energy to Atlee. He felt sorry deep inside. Emphasis on deep. He strutted rather stiffly down the winding hall.

"Oh." Atlee repeated. For a hero, he didn't seem that happy. Almost like Super Girl again. Atlee clicked on her communicator. "Wonder Girl. Hello?" In an instant, the girl's face appeared on screen. "Hey, Terra!" She then noticed the company. "Robin! Long time since we've spoken. I'm sorry for the inconvenience but this is Terra, she'll be a great edition for the team. I just want you to do some training with her, please?"

(Hope you don't mind me using Wonder Girl Red/Riri. )

Robin stopped dead in his tracks. He cringed at her voice. Robin stuck out his hand to get the communicator from Atlee. She handed it to him and with an unamused face he raised the communicator to his face. Talking through his teeth he managed to say "Hi Wondergirl! Yes! It's cool! BYE!" He closed it immediately and handed it back to Atlee.

Atlee stuffed the communicator back into her pocket. "I take it you're not that friendly with Wonder Girl?" she gently asked. People were so confusing sometimes...And it was quite obvious the irritation in Robin's voice at Wonder Girl's appearance.

Or maybe it was Atlee's appearance. The raven haired girl shuffled her feet, quietly considering this.

"We have a uh... history way back when." Robin said in a I'd-rather-not-talk-about-this face. "How did you come to know her?"

"I see..." Atlee muttered. "Well, after a quick double team with Super Girl I accidentally ran into this group called the Terror Titans." She shuddered. "Horrid experience, that. Anyway, teamed up with Aquagirl, Molecule, Offspring, Zachary Zatara, the Star-Spangled Kid, Miss Martian, Ravager and Slade. We escaped and brought down the Terror Titans. The Titans that were there let me recover in the San Francisco HQ, where Wonder Girl offered me a spot."

Robin stopped walking, they reached the door to the common room, Raven had been following close behind. "Are you ready?" He asked his hand on the door panel, ready to press the open button.

Atlee gave a firm nod. Time to become a titan. This would be a whole new adventure full of new friends, experiences, villains...It will be grand. "I'm ready." she chirped.

Robin opened the door. "Titans! Can I have your attention please?" Everyone averted their attention from the television screen to the door. "This is Terra." Robin started off letting her introduce herself.

Atlee peeked around Robin, gingerly dropping her bags on the floor. She stepped forward, "As Robin said, I'm Terra. It's great to be here." she smiled, then quickly added, "I-I'm not like the last Terra's. I swear."

Starfire, having just arrived at the common room, a little late than she usually is, was shocked. Come on, not ANOTHER Terra!
"You are... One of us?" she asked uneasily.

Atlee gave another fierce nod. "I swear. I'm not related to the other Terra's in any way. Just borrowing the name, I got permission from Geo-Force." She stuck out her hand. "My name is Atlee, if you want to call me that instead."

"Atlee," Starfire nodded and crossed her arms instead of taking Atlee's. "It is very nice to see you."
She threw a glance at Robin, wondering what the heck was truly happening here.

Atlee deflated slightly, taking her arm back. She shuffled her feet quietly, not feeling very welcomed, after the skepticism of Robin and coldness of Starfire. This wasn't the team she had heard so much about. If they don't want me to stay, they should just say so. Better than staying here in awkwardness.

"Nice to meet you, too, Starfire."
