He has a small gambling habit that has occasionally left him broke, occasionally left him rich. He has a small soft spot for closely-knit people, although he won’t do much research into his targets lives for this reason.
History
Vega was born in a small village off the east coast of England, around where Denmark is today. While most of the country had modernized and were part of the Kalmar Union, Vega’s coastal village was old and still went by an older structure and belief.
Vega was born the second oldest to Drengr Veguson, the closest the village had to a chief. His mother died in child birth to who would have been the fifth child of the family, around when he was five/six. He never got to know her.
He grew up peacefully with the village looking after him and, when he turned 13, was given an axe and taught to fight and hunt. He always admired his father’s deep red sword whenever he would teach him, and asked to wield it once. That wasn’t entertained.
Around the age of 20 and had had a respectable amount of experience under his belt, he inherited his father’s sword, Blod Drekka, who was growing old. His father told him that it was an heirloom that had been in the family for centuries, crafted long ago by a blacksmith no one could remember. It was an incredible piece of work, and Vega felt like it belonged to him the moment he picked it up.
A few years later Vega and a few of the men from the village went out hunting. The hunt was bountiful, but when they returned to the village they found the village razed, corpses spread through the rubble; a band of raiders had attacked while most of the warriors had left on their hunt. Vega and most of the other men, naturally stricken and angry, swore to find and kill those responsible, but one man reminded them that they had no idea who they were or where they were. After a heated argument and a few search parties they eventually conceded.
Their village now in ruins and no idea who the culprit was, they began salvaging what was left and
identifying the corpses. There wasn’t much left; a somewhat manageable boat, some food and a few common items. There weren’t any other villages like theirs anywhere nearby; they knew they had to migrate somewhere else. So after a ceremony for the dead, some of them got the boat in the water, took what was left and shipped off down the coast, though some of them stayed behind to hunt down the raiders.
Their boat wasn’t made for deep waters and they didn’t have many supplies anyways so they had to land at a small town fairly quick to restock. However they found they didn’t have money FOR supplies, but they found there was enough of them to take supplies by force. And so they took what they needed from the town and went on their way. They hadn’t stayed for long but one of the men had gotten cold feet and decided to return to their village to assist the remaining people.
As they traveled the coast, stopping occasionally to restock, more men decided that they had gone far enough, and had stayed behind. Vega eventually found that they were too few to pillage any longer, and that they would have to earn their pay. So, out of food once more they went into the city they were currently at to find work. Vega found it easy; a wealthy looking man had spotted him and, needing protection, offered to pay him well to act as a bodyguard.
He accepted, and he barely needed to lift a finger as most people gave him a wide berth.
This went on and on until Vega found himself alone, as everyone had gotten off at a previous stop, and with quite a reputation when his boat broke down around the east coast of England. It had been years since he first set off, and had done enough work his name was beginning to be recognized by strangers.
One nobleman in England by the name of Henry Vale had become paranoid of the other lords and was in need of muscle and, hearing that Vega was working nearby, gave him an offer. When Vega heard the offer he had to accept; the man was rich, and was giving away a substantial amount. Vale’s first assignment to Vega was as a simple bodyguard, but as his suspicions increases, so did the severity of Vega’s tasks. Constantly making aliances and killing enemies through either military aid or bounty hunting, Vega had his career made for him. He’s been working for Vale up until present day, his newest task being to send aid to a man named Garthell in hopes of forging an alliance.

Personality
He’s a loyal, respectful man towards family and friends, and shows a kind politeness to strangers. He doesn’t fully understand his purpose, but is guided by his father. Some could call him gullible. He loves the forest, as he has spent many hours in it honing his skills and chasing down prey. He doesn’t have very strong bonds with his parents outside of respect; he feels that his mentor, nanny and dragon are more like family to him, as they were the ones to raise him and grow up with him.
History
Lawrence was born into the wealthy Vale house as the youngest of the family. He spent most of his childhood fostered by a nanny and as such didn’t create much of a bond with his parents outside of a respect level.
When he reached the age of 13 his father, Henry Vale, sent him to become apprenticed to his master huntsman, Gavin Pierce. It wasn’t much of a change for him; he lived in the same place and was cared for by the same people, there was more work of course, but that was expected.
Gavin wasn’t entirely thrilled to train Lawrence, but he was employed under Lawrence’s father and accepted on the grounds of keeping his standing. The first day Lawrence showed up at the huntsman’s doorstep he was judged to be incompetent by Gavin, though he kept his judgments to himself.
He trained under Gavin for a few months before he let him into the forests, and even then was kept a close eye on. His first day in he failed to catch much beyond a single, ill hare. Although the catch was small and inedible, he was still proud of himself. Gavin wasn’t impressed, but he admitted it was progress.
After a while under Gavin he began training with dragons. Normally huntsmen would use dogs, horses or hawks to aid in hunting, but Henry Vale had a particular interest in dragons, especially for hunting as they could be used in place of any of the traditional hunting animals. The dragon he trained with in particular was named Showers, a somewhat single minded, slender, blue dragon, captured by the huntsmen and raised by the dragon keeper for a mindset toward hunting.
Lawrence and Showers took to each other well enough after they worked together for a few days. At first the two were constantly tripping over each other, but as they learned each other’s tendencies and styles they began working together.
Eventually he was deemed a huntsman after a few more years and brought on hunts regularly, sometimes even picking the quarry. Occasionally his father and his dragon Lilith would join in the hunt, and this was the closest they got to ever spending time together. On one of these hunts Henry informed Lawrence that his mother had passed away. Lawrence respected them, but he never had much love for his parents and as such only felt some disappointment at the news.
Lawrence and his father ended up talking frequently whenever they went on hunts and he developed a loyalty to his own house, something he had never often thought about. When he was reached around 20 years of age, his father sent for him. Lawrence went to meet with him faithfully. Henry greeted his son and began talking about politics, Lilith by his side. He talked about how the noble class was becoming restless with each other without a king, and that in order to keep their standing he had always needed to take certain procedures to secure it, and that he now needed Lawrence and Showers, who had become one of the better pairs of hunters under the Vale estate, to assist him in this. Lawrence found himself uncertain of the notion when he first mentioned it, but as the conversation went on he found himself agreeing more and more.
And so his life consisted largely of completing jobs given to himself by his father to secure their political power. Occasionally he would have time off and spend time with Gavin and his old nanny, as well as Showers, who he actually held dearly and thought of as family. His most recent assignment by his father was to make alliances to oppose a man named Garthel.
Showers
“What do I do? I…I hunt. Is there anything else?”
Gender: Male
Age: 9
Species: Dragon
Eyes: Black
Appearance: About the size of a small horse, he has a slender frame with a relatively smaller wing-span. Light blue in color, he has long talons and teeth. His tail ends in an almost feathery assortment of scales. He also wears a type of harness made of leather straps and iron fastens.
Alignment: To Lawrence, otherwise ‘neutral’
Tools & equipment
Harness – A leather and iron harness that lets humans clip on to him.
Talons & teeth – Razor sharp, relatively long claws and teeth. Primary weapon.
Strengths
Flight – He can fly.
Strength – He is strong enough to carry a fully grown adult on his back in flight.
Tracking – Although a natural ability, it was honed in captivity and he has developed an expert sense of smell, hearing and eyesight.
Weaknesses
Tiny – All in all, he’s still very small and could be overpowered.
Single minded – He grew up being fashioned for one thing: Hunting. He hasn’t learned much else in his life.
Personality
Falling to primal instinct, he absolutely loves to hunt. He’s awfully savage and prideful in his abilities for a small creature, but loves Lawrence, as he is the only companion he has. He’s fairly suspicious of other humans and even more so of other dragons, and be slightly overprotective towards Lawrence.
History
Showers doesn’t know much about his birth place or what his childhood would have been, as he was scooped up as a newly hatched baby by hunters. They hunted this particular breed because it was small and easier to overpower, and made excellent hunting animals.
He spent his formative months being raised by Henry Vale’s dragon keeper, a bitter young man that Showers never cared for. The keeper never let the dragons meet, so he never got used to other dragons company.
When he grew to a suitable size, the keeper and new huntsmen began teaching him the skills he needed. Most of it came naturally to him, and he wondering why they were going through such basic and trivial things. As the lessons came he did develop particularly good senses, as well as English, something he had been picking up since he first was introduced to humans.
Eventually he was told that he would be taught with a partner one day; a human that had been going through the same lessons. Curiosity peaked, he found himself looking forward to the day. When it came, he found himself underwhelmed by the scrawny young man before him. Nonetheless, they were forced to hunt together, which went miserably. The young man constantly got in his way, frustrating him to no end.
After what felt like weeks of frustration, they finally got the hang of each other, and finally took down a boar together. Lawrence and Showers began to warm up to each other then. Eventually he was told that he’d be working regularly with Lawrence, which didn’t bother him until he learned the next thing to be taught: Harnesses and riding. Indignant at the very thought of it, Showers protested whenever they came near him with the harness. But, eventually they got it on and he was forced to be ridden.
Years passed and the two had become closer than ever, Showers becoming more comfortable with the idea of being ridden, though only with Lawrence, and Lawrence learning that Showers was a dear friend. Eventually Showers was told that they’d be doing work for Lawrence’s father. He didn’t protest, but he wondered endlessly why they were helping the man.
Henry & Lilith Vale

His pendant – What looks like an ornate piece of jewelry is actually the key to almost all of his successes. The onyx in the center is the eyeball from a dragon named Lilith that has the power to lull someone into a suggestive state in order to get them to do what he wants.
Strengths
Political power & alliances – He’s crafted a nice niche for himself with the English upper-class.
Wealth – If the above fails to work, he has a hefty amount of money which has won over men in the past.
Weaknesses
Frail & old – He’s been on the planet a bit too long, and has little to no physical prowess
Mentally weak – Years of being controlled by Lilith has left him weak and unguided when by himself.
Personality
He’s persuasive, even though it’s just his pendent anybody would agree that he is. He’s progressive; introducing new ideas and looking at the big scheme of things. An example of this is the fact that he incorporated dragons for hunting and warfare, and tailored his sons with skill sets and professions that would help in the long run. All of this is more or less an extension of Lilith’s personality.
History
Henry was born into the house of Vale, a house of English nobility, and as such grew up protected and well off. When he grew to about ten years of age, his family arranged his marriage to a girl from another noble family.
One thing he grew up with was his father’s menagerie, which housed many animals ranging from stags to lions to bears. The crown jewel of this was a deep blue, relatively small dragon. Growing up he’d often visit the menagerie, and in particular, the dragon. He didn’t know it at the time, but the dragon was executing a plan to escape. The dragon had the ability to lull humans into a state where they are susceptible to suggestion, and asked Henry to let it out of the chains keeping it from flying away. Lacking the strength or keys to release it, and being significantly less crafty during that time, he asked the animal’s keeper to release it. Knowing of the dragon’s abilities, the keeper quickly escorting Henry from the menagerie and told him to avoid the dragon. He wasn’t allowed near that part of the menagerie again.
What he didn’t know was that after that he was under the dragon’s control; he didn’t succeed in freeing her, but he still had the need too. He’d occasionally attempt to sneak into the back of the menagerie to speak with Lilith and would always get escorted away.
Years later he was married to who became Margaret Vale, an arranged marriage that was more business than love. Arranged by his father, the marriage was a way of connecting the Vale house to another house to gain power and wealth.
Eventually his parents passed away and he became the head of the Vale house at the age of 31. One of the first things he did was free the dragon he had tried to free when he was younger. The groundskeeper and many others tried to protest, but they couldn’t go against his word. He showed up to the dragon and had her unshackled and freed from the menagerie.
Before she flew off, she asked to talk with Henry, who accepted and sent the groundskeeper away, trusting the beast 100%. She talked about how she had been in captivity for decades and that she didn’t have anywhere to go. She talked about she had certain ideas to help further his power and influence. He found himself agreeing with everything she said by the end of the conversation. The next thing everyone knew, she was brought into the house as Lilith Vale.
Disturbed and confused, most of the staff and family kept away from Lilith, and Lilith only communicated with Henry. Lilith would tell Henry what to do, and he’d do it. Most of this was to increase his, and therefore Lilith’s, influence. To do this, one of the first things they did was surgically remove one of Lilith’s eyes and bejewel it into a pendant, so that Henry could enthrall those who Lilith couldn’t reach.
One of the things Henry did was send away each of his five children to learn different skillsets, i.e., commander, hunter, etc. After they spent a few years in training, he would begin talking to them to build up a relationship, and after they reached adulthood he would call them to his estate and talk to them about how he keeps his political standing, and that it takes certain tasks and connections on occasion. If they didn’t agree, he would use the pendent to win them over.
As his influence grew, he began to feel paranoid despite Lilith’s reassurances. Vega Drengsson, a bounty hunter growing in name had recently arrived nearby, and sent a messenger to speak with him with promise of a large sum of money to act as a bodyguard. The man happily accepted, though the two never formally met; Henry was slightly afraid of the man from the stories he heard.
Years later, he’s an old, rich and powerful man who stayed alive stubbornly, his wife passed away about a decade back. Lilith comes to him and talks about a man named Garthel who, potentially, could become a large power in the area, but if they were to ally with him only to have him fail, then he would be in a bad situation. They decided to send Vega and Lawrence, his youngest son, to become causes for both sides of the coming conflict, so he could proclaim himself allied to whoever turned victorious.
Lilith Vale
“From home, I was a peasant. Here, I rule.”
Gender: Female
Age: 253
Species: Dragon
Eyes: Fully pitch black, one is missing
Appearance: She’s medium sized, about the size of an elephant. Elegantly built, slender and with a longer than usual wingspan. Talons and teeth are somewhat shorter than usual. She is pure white, with a tail that ends in a sharp tip. What seems to be the one flaw with her is her left eye, which is missing.
Alignment: To herself
Tools & abilities
Eyesight – She has the ability to lull creatures into a state where they are easy to persuade.
Talons & teeth – Although not as dangerous as other breeds, she still has them.
Telepathy – The breed communicates through short-range one way telepathy. The breed doesn’t, however, possess the ability to speak. She has trained herself to faintly pick up another's thoughts and, with much difficulty, to extend it's range.
Strengths
Intelligence – Lilith is extremely smart, plotting her way to power.
Flight – A natural ability, Lilith can fly. And very fast at that.
Weaknesses
Depth perception – She’s missing an eye, and can’t effectively tell how far away things are. She can’t see her left flank either.
Glitch – There’s a glitch in her enthrallment ability where it will occasionally not work, or stop working if being used to long. She kept hold of Henry for so long because he was young and weak in the mind.
Personality
Elegant and prideful. She feels like she’s better than humans, but doesn’t openly express it. She doesn’t like to talk to many people besides Henry, which is her vessel to the human world. She enjoys being in power and controlling the people she needs to get there.
History
Lilith, before she was captured and brought into the Vale house, was part of a band of dragons that would enslave humans with their ability to work for them. Lilith was lower down on the hierarchy and wasn’t entirely respected.
One day she was talking to one of the humans and, adoring as they were toward the dragons, began talking about their inferior civilization. Prideful as she was she began plotting after that. Her plan was to become a powerful force in the human civilization; a place where she could rule, unlike her own.
So one day she strayed from her home and found a band of English hunters who, knowing the breed’s reputation of capturing civilians and hunters, very carefully tried to capture her. Lilith didn’t put up a fight at all, and the hunters were surprised.
She was corralled back to the Vale menagerie, as the hunters were employed by Henry Vale’s father, where they locked her up carefully. She went to work trying to get free, the obvious choice was the groundskeeper, but she couldn’t entice him. This was the first time she found difficulty with her ability and she didn’t understand.
She had a very long time to meditate on this as it wasn’t for a few more decades someone showed up. Henry Vale showed up in front of her prison area, and she instantly went to work on him. The kid couldn’t free her, but she had planted a seed. 20 more years later, Henry Vale returned as the head of the house and promptly freed her. After she was free from her shackles, she realized her plan was finally progressing.
She asked for an audience with Henry Vale, who agreed wholeheartedly, and started working her way in. In the end she won him over and became the newest Vale. She assisted in every decision he made, and in return won him great wealth, power and standing.
Lilith would do the shadier things behind his back, one of which was set up a network of spies to learn what was going on in the country. This paid off when one reported on Garthel, a man who was quite possibly the next biggest power. She told Henry about this and soon had plans to send a man on both sides of the conflict, so that they’d win no matter the outcome.

Darts – Filled with poison, in case she can’t get close.
Lockpicks – Self-explanatory and stored on her person.
Smoke pellets – Cheap iron casings filled with black powder, joined together by fuses like a bunch of cherries.
Currency
Strengths
Stealth – Trained particularly for this, she can blend in perfectly, as well as sneak into wherever she wants.
Acrobatics – Simply put, she’s bendable. She can dodge, weave and duck fluidly.
Athletics – She’s also fast, being able to outrun quite a large number of people.
Weaknesses
Casual – She doesn’t always keep her work seriously, and will sometimes slip up.
Open conflict – She can hold her own for a little while in a full on fight, but she likes to avoid it, moving in on her own terms.
Personality
Easygoing and talkative, she feels at home around people of all sorts, and speech flows easily in conversation. The counterbalance is when she slips into her serious work, and can focus when she needs to. Often she has a feeling of mock politeness around her when she doesn’t have to be serious, like she’s being perfectly respectful and mocking you all at the same time.
History
Trace Vale was born into the Vale house as one of a pair of twins. She grew up mostly with Edward, her twin, but interacted with her other siblings fairly often. She’d often get in trouble as a kid, usually finding her and Edward in interesting places and circumstances, like inside the forest near their home or on the roof.
One day when she was barely 12, Lilith pulled her away to speak with her, talking about how she and her parents had decided to send her to lessons away from home. She asked if she was going alone, and when told she began to protest, but they were silenced by the end of the conversation. Of course, Trace’s parents knew nothing of Lilith’s plans, and when they eventually began to notice that she was gone, Lilith always told them that she was taking proper care of her.
She had been sent to learn from a few people working under Lilith’s control as spies. They taught her to blend in, to move in and out as quickly and efficiently as possible and to do whatever Lilith needed done. These people were completely gung ho towards Lilith’s plans, and were happy and almost careless about the tasks needed to be done, and as she grew she adopted this mindset, becoming casual towards her profession.
Occasionally she’d come back home for periods of time, something she’d always look forward too as she never got to see Edward when she was away. She always impressed him with the things she learned, and sometimes tried to teach him. On one of these visits Edward wasn’t there, and when she asked where he was she was simply hushed and told that ‘he is not a part of the family anymore’, something that left her extremely confused and a more than a little saddened.
Life still had to go on with her, and she was still trained by Lilith’s spies until she was full grown and deemed good enough. One practice they had grown into was assigning each person a partner, and as such Trace was given a Street-swimmer named Shade. Street-swimmers are a type of small dragon known in particular for their stealth and shape shifting, but also for their uncontrollable demeanor. Trace took to Shade the moment she laid eyes on the tiny dragon. Shade, not so much, which he made completely clear when he just shook his head and walked out when he was introduced.
Eventually they were forced to work together and despite the complaints on Shade’s part, they ended up doing well, even if it was just information gathering. Now, Street-swimmer society runs on a survival of the fittest ideology, so ability and instinct are particularly important to them, and after working with Trace, Shade disgruntledly admitted to him that she was admirable.
Now 23 and a full-fledged and respected member of Lilith’s spies, Trace and Shade began to accomplish things of more consequence, one of which led to her needing to contact one person in particular. She found him in a bar in London while Shade was searching elsewhere; a tattered outlaw named Edward. It had been forever since she had seen her twin brother and she was incredibly surprised and happy to see him. Edward shared the sentiments completely as they began talking. They exchanged their life stories since they had been separated; it turned out he was sent to be an altar boy in the church, but he never enjoyed it and about four years back stopped showing up at the church. He said that his father and Lilith tried to persuade him, but when they failed to do that, his father got angry at him and banished him from the house. He needed a way to scrape by since, and crime was as good as any, he claimed.
Trace, shocked as she was, couldn’t help but smile at her brother as he finished his story and when she went on with hers, Edward gave a crooked smile and said he always knew she was up to something when she left. When it got down to business, Edward told Trace everything she needed to know, but before she left told her to keep an eye out for Lilith. A bit confused, she said farewell to her brother. She always went back to him when she needed information.
Lilith knew that Trace’s contact was her brother, and sent to speak with Trace when she returned. But when she asked about Edward, Trace simply said, out of protection knowing that Lilith and Edward weren’t on good terms, that the contact was just an outlaw, no more familiar than a stranger. Wary, Lilith tried to get Trace to obey and tell her, but she never did. That was when Lilith learned that Trace was resistant to her abilities, not immune, but resistant enough to hide what she really wanted to hide. She dismissed Trace and didn’t send for her again for a long time as she began planning another way to get Edward.
She hadn’t had a task in a long time since, and recently has spent her time finding her other siblings, curious as to their lives after talking to Edward. Though her older brother proved rigid and stone-like, she has better hopes for her older sister and younger brother.
Shade
“I am not a dragon; I am a Street-swimmer! It’s completely different!”
Gender: Street-swimmer don’t have genders
Age: 8
Species: Street-swimmer
Eyes: Pitch black
Appearance: Tiny, about the size of a large cat, with pitch black, almost featureless skin, shape resembles a dragon. He has small, wickedly sharp claws, and a tail that ends in a bland tip.
Alignment: Neutral
Tools & abilities
Claws & teeth – Primary weapon, self-explanatory.
Hiding – The Street-swimmer ability blend into shadows. As long as he can touch it, he can hide in it.
Shape-shifting – The second Street-swimmer ability to copy a shadow. If he can touch it, he can turn into it, though he’ll retain his coloring unless he focuses very hard.
Flight – Basic ability to fly.
Strengths
Stealth – He knows how to keep out of sight.
Speed – He moves fast.
Immortality – Street-swimmers technically aren’t alive, and won’t suffer from old age.
Weaknesses
Small & fragile – He can handle much damage, so if someone can latch onto him he won’t last long.
Angry & sarcastic – His disdainful personality can cloud his judgment on occasion.
Personality
Careless, loudmouthed and bold, he doesn’t care what people think of him. Though he’s rather hot tempered and easily annoyed, so he doesn’t get along very well with people. He barely admits that he cares for people he cares for, and shows it by not vanishing on sight. He personally despises Lilith, the dragon he supposedly works for due to a rivalry between Street-swimmers and actual dragons.
History
Shade was born in a poorer district of London to his lone parent in an alleyway nest. Street-swimmers reproduce through shape shifting and then mating with humans before abandoning them, so he never had a father. His childhood was relatively short; his parent taught him the basics of his abilities and the basics of human practices, i.e. the local language and basic relations as Street-swimmers have adopted human practices as they’re own, until he came to adulthood at around eight months.
Leaving the nest at such a young age, he fumbled a lot in the real world, making social mistakes and generally giving himself a bad image. Being unliked with the humans, he tried to find refuge with his own species, but the Street-swimmers with their survival of the fittest ideology rejected him because he couldn’t hold his own. This is what eventually led to his slightly bitter personality.
Basically on his own, he tried his best to understand human civilization, watching people and learning from what they did. He never really got the hang of it, but he tried. One day he found himself in a tavern posing as a human when a scarred man stepped over to him and began talking to him. Surprised, he resisted at first, but eventually found that the man was persistent and that he couldn’t escape the conversation. Annoyed, he asked him what he wanted, to which he replied that he simply wanted to talk. He disgruntledly played along and eventually began enjoying the conversation. Turns out he was a fighter who claimed to be passing through the down. He offered Shade a drink, and as the conversation went on Shade’s focus lapsed and began to lose hold on his disguise, though he didn’t notice.
Smiling, the man told Shade that he’d like to recruit his skillset after explaining to him that he was a recruiter for a noblewoman named Lilith. Shade drunkenly agreed and before he knew it he was before Lilith the day after. Now, Street-swimmers have a natural dislike of larger dragons, which basically means all dragons, and to make it worse for Lilith, they have an immunity to a Siren’s hypnosis, so it took some real persuading for Lilith to convince Shade as she needed Street-swimmers skillsets. She acted polite to him, which was returned by a wary, slightly disrespectful attitude. Lilith could tell this would be a strain on her abilities.
Though as it turned out, Lilith’s persuasion skills were up to snuff, and they settled the deal with Lilith offering pay for what he did naturally, a place to live and of course minimal contact with Lilith herself in exchange for his services. Shade always felt he got the better end of that deal. So he was under Lilith’s reign now, although under good circumstances; he did what he was told, he got pay for it. He even began to become recognized within Street-swimmer society. Until one day they decided to stick everyone with a partner.
He had low expectations when he heard he had to get stuck with Trace Vale, even less when he heard that she was a trusted ally to Lilith of the highest degree. Nonetheless, he showed up and didn’t even try to hide his feelings. He barely interacted with her until he had to: When they were sent to gather information. He was paired up with Trace mostly as a senior to teach her, but he found he didn’t need to do much. The ordeal gave him a fleck of hope for Trace; she wasn’t a martyr for her work and she still did it well.
His short life was the same for a good while after that, until he and Trace stopped getting jobs after one spy reported on a man named Garthel. In the lapse of action Trace went out searching for her younger brother, bringing Shade along with her.

Re: The Renassiance of the Dragon Roleplay
(Oi, here we go then...)
Drengsson never thought much about what he was paid to do, but being hired for the purpose of someone else hiring him had struck him as a bit odd. But he found himself at the gates of who should have been a rival of his employer either way.
He walked through the burnt town unopposed, as any mercenary that was a part of the fight was either elsewhere or engaged in other activities and besides, he fit into the picture perfectly. Eventually he found a building in which he could hear cheering and the sound of metal on metal. He walked through the doorway ignoring any guards, if there even was any; those might have been corpses.
He was greeted by an army and by the sounds of it one that had recently experienced victory. He was taller than a good amount of the fighters, but he fit in good enough. No one would notice another fighter. Passing by a few fighters escorting a girl out of the building, he walked through the crowd, a grim expression on his face.
Vega looked up and saw a gaunt man above the crowd. Must be Garthell. he thought to himself, squinting. He'd have to get a moment alone with the man sometime soon.
(I'll introduce the rest after I have some time to think.)

immortal creature, he cannot
die.

Abilities
Occult Knowledge: Etrigan
is also provided with insight to
religious aspects and other
forbidden or secret
knowledge.
Weaknesses
Demonic Laws: Etrigan has
all the limitations usually
associated with a demon,
including a weakness towards
iron.
History: Etrigan was a demon from Hell who usually found himself allied to the forces of good. Etrigan resembled a squat, muscular human with orange (or yellow skin, horns, red eyes, and ears resembling bat wings. He was originally summoned by the wizard Merlin as part of a last-ditch defense of Camelot against the evil witch, Morgaine le Fey. When it became clear that the kingdom would fall regardless, Merlin sent the demon away and bonded him into a human named Jason Blood to wait
until he was summoned.
Centuries later, Jason was
called to the crypt of Merlin
and discovered a poem that
could change him into Etrigan.
Unfortunately, he was followed by the long-lived Morgaine who lusted for Merlin's secrets. That led to Etrigan's first major battle, and to the solidification of Morgaine as a major enemy. In addition, he later gained another enemy in Klarion the Witch Boy, a permanently prepubescent mage who created trouble with his magic. Some time later, Etrigan began speaking entirely in rhyme, as the result of a promotion, with the rhyming speech being a badge of his new rank in the infernal hierarchy. The poem that released Etrigan was:
"Yarva Demonicus Etrigan.
Change, change the form of man.
Free the prince forever damned.
Free the might from fleshy mire.
Boil the blood in heart of fire.
Gone, gone the form of man,
Rise the demon Etrigan."
Jason Blood's first
transformation into the. Demon occured when reading
the inscription on the surface
of a stone tomb:
"Change! Change, O' form of man!
Release the might from fleshy mire!
Boil the blood in the heart for fire!
Gone! Gone! -- the form
of man -- Rise, the Demon Etrigan!!"
Generally, only the last two
lines were actively recited,
and the words have been
known to vary slightly; the
phrase "yarva daemonicus
etrigan" has occasionally been
used, but not consistently.
The reverse spell was "Gone,
gone O Etrigan! Rise again (or
once more) the form of man!"
The spell itself did not need to
be recited by Jason or Etrigan
to be effective, merely within
their range of hearing. In
emergencies when Jason
could not speak (such as one
time when he was turned into
a fly) writing it was sometimes
sufficient to effect the change.
On one occasion, Blood
released Etrigan by using a
parody of the spell ("Gone o
little man so tame / and rise
the demon Whatsisname").

As Adela continued her run down the stone road, a man with a cane blocked her path. He cocked his head as she slowly approached him. "Where doth thou plan on fleeing to on this beauteous night of screams and wonder?" he asked her, then quickly shifting attention from the dog then back to the girl.

(Psst, it's Drengsson.)
Drengsson stood a ways from Garthell, arms crossed and face expressionless. When he heard Garthell speak, he lumbered over in front of the man, towering over him. He spoke in a heavily accented voice, "In your victory, Henry Vale offers alliance. He will give use of his men, wealth, operatives and political power." As if an afterthought, he added, "And me. In return for your good will." He finished, arms resting at his side.
"What say you?"
"Lawrence, will it be very much longer?" Showers rumbled as they walked through a grassy forest, taking a break from flight.
"I am afraid so Showers." Lawrence said with a sigh, "Though once you are sufficiently rested, we may take to the skies again. It could not be much longer afterwards."
"Then I am rested now." Showers said with some confidence.
"Nonsense, we've barely stopped flying; I can still see your breathing heavy. I can hardly see why you are so excited; my father barely gave us an objective." Lawrence protested. Showers sighed and instead of a reply sniffed the air, darted away for a second, and flew back with a small deer he began eating as they traveled. Lawrence gave a slight smile, used to the sight and smell over the years, and walked on through the forest.

Re: The Renassiance of the Dragon Roleplay
The mind the young lady tried to read was not his own, if in fact people were after Adela, they wouldn't have much time to dilly dally about in the streets. Nevertheless, Jason decided to entertain the idea and see what future events could possibly take place is the gaurds she recently escaped would once again apprehend her.
"If thou chooseth not to answer mine inquiry, why then shall I answer thine in return?" Jason gave her a curious look, she looked like she had a lot of questions she didn't yet unearth due to the time they didn't really have. "Though thou art rude, I shall formally introduce mineself to prove to be the gentleman and the mature." He said bowing down, before the tattered princess could speak, "Mine name be Jason Blood."

"Vale is a lord. I do not know much about him. I was told any questions should be answered by someone else." Vega said. That will be all, Drengsson. came a slightly exasperated voice in Drengsson's head. Drengsson gave an extremely small nod, he knew who spoke.
At the Vale estate, Lilith had seperated herself from Henry and locked herself in a specially made, dragon sized room. The room was filled with more finery than any other room in the mansion, with a large assortment of cushions that Lilith was resting on currently. Though despite her conditions, she was deep in concentration, as she was trying to keep up with Drengsson's position. She reached around the area around Drengsson until she found Garthell. Latching onto him as quickly as she could, she managed to say with some shakiness, Hello, Garthell. I am a direct attendant to Henry Vale; my name is Lilith. Any questions you may have, speak to me. You need only think.

"Nay fair maiden, I cannot allow one who is in such trouble with the authorities to escape mine grasps." Jason apologized, "Unless thou can explain in such a hasten manner and thus convince me of thy innocences may I let a wanted felon pass unnoticed. If thou art guilty, raise thy sword against me in a duel." Jason spoke quickly to Adela, his face unchanged, and by the look of it, he was ready to take her back to her captives. Footsteps drew dangerously close. Time was running out.

Re: The Renassiance of the Dragon Roleplay
"The rules of conquest and overthrow is not complex." Jason Blood stated drawing a sword, "He who is the strongest claims the land. In this case thou and thy kin were a weak people." He tossed the sword to Adela for her to catch it. "In this case, thou art weak and there is little hope that thy entire civilization may survive if thou wisheth to save it all by thyself. In which case thou art under Garthell's rule, and must obey his every whim." Jason held his cane upright and popped open the top of it revealing a second sword. The city guards finally caught up with the two standing in fighting positions in the middle of the streets. "O brothers, let down thy arms, as a duel is in order, unless thou wisheth to challenge me as well."

Re: The Renassiance of the Dragon Roleplay
"The mere fact thine's empire was overthrown proveth otherwise." Jason retorted, he had given Adela enough of a fair warning. The fact that she drew another sword also showed him just how rude the young lady could be; so immediately, what seemed like a blur, Jason had smacked Adela with the flat of his blade across her face, leaving a bright red mark running up her face. In what happened in less than a second, the mysterious gentleman had disarmed the sword that she had drawn. He brought her in a close lock and whispered in her ear, "I suggest thou to go with the authorities. Thou art already caught, and if thou wishest to explain in prison I will allow it. Even if thou doth defeat me, thou also have the guards to reckon with. Be smart fair warrior."

Re: The Renassiance of the Dragon Roleplay
Vale and myself reside in a private estate, and I hesitate to reveal more until I hear an answer to our offer, if you will pardon our caution. Now, Gathell, if you please I would like to answer questions directly situated to our current discussion, as this method of communication is very taxing on my person. Lilith thought, masking out her irritation. It would be nice if this could be handled quickly, whether the answer is favorable or not. If you would dislike discussing it now, I could give you time to think by traveling to you, so we may discuss this in person?
Drengsson stared back at Garthell, with only the slightest twitch of his mustache.

(...Huh. XD)
Very well, I shall summon an escort. Lilith thought as she called out to a guard for an escort to be assembled, As for your immediate question, the Vale house is very influential; apart from our militia and wealth, we have connections and operatives in the courts, the royal army and even a number of less legal areas. Essentially, we could provide you with anything you might need. And to address the topic of trust, the Vale house has a tradition of aligning itself with its rulers; we have kept faithfully to the king and made steps to assure his power, but in his absence, the lords unrest with each other and your most recent victories, it is obvious that you should be the newest ruler. We are simply staying to our tradition.
The guard returned with news that the escort was ready. Nodding the guard, Lilith finished before letting her concentration fade with a sigh, If you will excuse me, Garthell, I must start on my way to you; we will arrive shortly to continue this discussion. Lilith left her massive, plush room to the courtyard, where four heavily armored dragons were awaiting her. Henry Vale walked to her side, resting a hand on her.
"I am sorry, my dear, that I may not come with you. I hope you shall represent us well?" he said. Of course. Now please, return to your quarters; you do not look well. Lilith thought. Henry simply nodded and walked away with the guards.
Shall we? she thought, as the five of them took off. It wouldn't be long; they were built for speed and stamina.

Re: The Renassiance of the Dragon Roleplay
The kick meant nothing to Jason, Adela entirely meant nothing to him. He was focused on the woman's pet. How it viciously attacked one of the observing guards. Jason shot his foot into Adela's stomach before she could begin to swing her blade and ran over to the gaurd and in the same manner kicked the transforming dog off the gaurd in his ribs. "Control thy beast, witch! He attacketh a defensless authority for no demand!" Jason shouted at Adela, holding his sword at the animal.
"Change, change O'form of man."

Thou threats against defenseless guards mean nothing to me. I personally shall slay thee for thy insubordination and rebelliousness. Jason Telepathicly replied. The small blade dug into Jason's back, yet he continued his chant.
"Boil the blood in heart of fire.
Gone, gone the form of man,
Rise the demon Etrigan!"
A bright flash of light surrounded Jason, only making him a black silhouette, slowly shifting into a demonic figure. When all the lights and sparks faded, there stood a yellow skinned demon with short horns, bulk in figure, a blue cape and a red tunic. The guards faces turned to terror as the demon roared ferociously, swinging his huge arms behind him. The shurkien lay flat on the floor.

Such disobedience being displayed by thee. Ignore thy master in whom she has great possession over? Then she mustn't mean much to thou. Etrigan telepathed back to Delano. Try thee, I shall. Etrigan stated looking at the girl who seemed to now be half his size. Adela didn't have a chance, Etrigan ran up to her and embraced his meaty arms around her, nearly crushing her rib cage. Etrigan the Demon had kidnapped Delano's master.

Re: The Renassiance of the Dragon Roleplay
Explosions? Army men in the woods? Demons and dragons? That, kids, is usually a sign that last night's party might have been a bit TOO much fun. Jacob canderous was awoken by the explosion of light that was Jason Blood transforming into Etrigan. He had been sleeping on one of three boughs, high enough off the ground that you wouldn't notice unless you were looking up there in the first place. Not sleeping on the ground was a good way to avoid pickpockets- and right now, get a front row seat to the.... unique spectacle unfolding below.
But that's getting ahead of ourself. The individual sleeping in the tree was one Jake McChristopher, Former Heir to the McChristopher family fortune and currently (and reluctantly) errand boy of the sea- dragon Akamia. Needless to say, he was no stranger to Dragons. Or even Deomns for that matter.
But what he was witnessing below was something new. He didn't catch much of the conversation across from the dragon calling a name, presumably the girl that Etrigan seemed to be nearly crushing. Now not hearing the full story led to the filling in of some of the blanks. Usually, the story of the Demon and the attractive young woman in his clutches didn't end well. Usually for the maiden in question. Now, Jake could've easily gone down there and tried to free the afforementioned young lady. Emphasis on tried. If even the dragon wasn't going to make a move on tall, dark and demon-ey, he doubted his own chances severely. So what to do?
Not get involved and see what happens. That tended to involve a lot less of his bones getting broken.
