all thanks to TitanCalix for inspiring me to get in my art mode again ^^
in my last post... (which was a few weeks ago i believe... >.< ) i said that
i would work on it right away and i did just that, but it looks like it took
me a while to finish it ^^; well, hope you guys like it. i may post more some
time so yeah :D

Materials: micron pens for line art
Software: Photoshop CS3


Character Name: Akira ??? (Last name unknown)
Age: 17
History: When AKira was just a toddler, his parents were murdered by mad scientists who discovered
that young Akira was the descendant of an ancient race: Animalis Reptalianis
- Though it seemed that the trace of Akira's powers were very small. Only a hint of the ancient DNA flowed
through his bloodstream so the scientists decided to activiate it by injecting a certain chemical in order to mutate
his body to release his secret powers. The experiement worked, but as a result, Akira ran wild and killed
the scientists. Though he was just a toddler, he was very intelligent and managed to escape and lived in the
mountains with fellow animals that he was now able to communicate with. Soon after, the titans caught his eyes
and his interests were locked onto Beast Boy, who had animal genes just as he did.


Abilities: Retain his human form, and transform into his other self when needed.
Elements: Fire and Ice
Animal Gene: Dragon
Status: Hero
Goal: Protect animals in need
Note: Sometimes Akira's powers are still unstable due to the forced gene mutations, so under a large amount of stress, he will lose
control of his mind and body until he is either calmed down or... Death.

It's fine, I think you did a great job. I have trouble with anatomy too, but here, this guy has it down to a science! Watch his vid, it might help. :D

i guess i should thank my computer for losing internet connection
which caused me to get so bored that i ended up drawing all these characters.
oh well, it was fun and i had a lot of spare time today anyways =w= ^^

Name: Kinto Marigold
Age: 18
Status: Protagonist
Bio: Was raised on a ranch full of horses who he spent most of his childhood with. As a result of such close bonds
with his animals, Kinto was able to gain an ability to communicate with horses.
Personality: Level-headed and perceptive.
Abilities: Using telepathy with horses.
Interests: Protecting horses.
Me: wow this guy must really like horses xD ^^

Relationships: He later becomes good friends with Titans East.
note: why i drew a flying cat with wings, i have no idea .__.;
oh well, guess that can be his magical friend XD




Name: Maxx Waveroaver
Age: 15
Status: Protagonist
Bio: Maxx grew up near Jump City's beach and enjoyed surfing since he was a child.
Personality: Daring and Flirty, yet kind-hearted
Abilities: No super powers, but he's GREAT at flirting.
Relationships: Good friends with Aqualad after he saved Maxx from a huge wave that crashed on him and nearly drowned him.
After meeting Beast Boy and Kid Flash, they become Maxx's rivals in getting all the ladies. xD
Interests: Girls and helping out the TT in any way he can.




Name: Tempest
Status: Guardian
Age: ???
Element: ???
Bio: Was created by an ancient pharaoh of the past and currently lives as a statue deep within the temple. It only awakens
to ward off any intruders who enter and disturb the temple.
Abilities: Incredible speed and mostly fights using physical attacks that are able to break through barriers.
Goal: Protect intruders from entering the forbidden door that leads to a quarantined Azarath where an immense
amount of chaos had been locked away for over many centuries.




Name: Innis
Age: ???
Status: Guardian
Element: Light
Bio: Like Tempest, Innis was created by the same pharaoh and now lurks within the realm of the quartined Azarath.
Abilities: sustain a balance between darkness and light, create barriers that can both harm and protect, and can lull living things to sleep.
Goal: Sustain the balance of darkness and light within the forbidden Azarath for without Innis, the balance will become so unstable that
it will break loose from its chains and corrupt the real world.



Note: Believe it or not, but Tempest and Innis are siblings. (me: yay xD )

i agree the lines are smooth and the drawings are really nice to look at! You should draw more!!

oh, and as for what i want to look like, i guess i'll just take the appearance of
my usual OC. here's a shot of her upper body in the beginning of the vid ^^



as for the rest of the details:
Name: we can just go with Karp
Age:15
Top: she wears a white tank top
Bottom: white silk pants
Shoes: white tennis shoes
Other: wear's a white cloak with hood and a necklace like Inuyasha's around her neck except that the beads are black.
-two white stripes are on both cheeks like shown in the vid.
Hair: light purple + sticks two white feathers in her medium pony-tail.
Eyes: light purple, but a little darker than her hair.

The mouths are a bit odd, but I suppose these are, well... ok, mediocre at best. But that IS what practice is for, after all...

lol, those are called "anime mouths".
if you look closely at some anime character designs,
not all the mouths are completely drawn in because the empty
space i believe was meant to be like a shine - just to add some taste to it.
meh, i thought they were weird at first too but i got used to it lol >.<

Well in art, there's a saying that goes around for aspiring cartoonists "You must learn to first draw a hamburger realistically before you can draw cartoons." Basically saying if you don't know human anatomy you can't make cartoons look normal.

For example (I hate Family Guy but this is for an example) Family Guy's art makes their heads really really REALLY large! But if you look at it People are about 6 heads high (if you draw 6 heads toppled on each other their the size of the human) but family guy has them standing only 4 heads high (that's a really big head.)

Why? Because they understand human anatomy.

Yes practice, but what to practice is the question. If you draw from life then you'll find your cartooning to look even better :D

lol and i just bought an anatomy book not too long ago XD
not to mention that i've taken figure drawing class before and i have
to say, my art looked... awesome o.o wish i could put it up here, but um...
well i cant because it's figure drawing XD nonetheless my cartoons
look "horrible" ._.

i've even been trying to make my doodles in class look good so yeah lol ._.
