actually i retract the statement i made a few days ago

christmas: it's a time where families/friends/relatives/even strangers gather together to remember what the day is really all about. it's not about the presents or getting that kiss under the mistletoe. the birth of awesome, rockin' J.C Smile

I'm a Calvinist, and more specifically a presbyterian.

Let me tell you why, dear. My house is always filled with greed during Christmas. They have forgot what is what all about. While most of my family is catholic, I am a Witch. I celebrate Yule. No, I don't hate your god, I just don't believe in him. :D

Well that doesn't explain why you hate christmas, and also I believe that we're all sinful throughout the year. Not just during christmas. We're greedy and selfish; we lie, steal, cheat, and curse. Don't say we're all basically good cause you and I both know how messed up this world is.

And I always thought you were a wizard XD

Mankind is not as a whole either mostly good or mostly bad. Both are equal parts of a whole and that's what we are. In our purest form we are neither pure good or pure evil, but our actions and personalities determine which direction we lean in. To say "WE ARE ALL TERRIBLE NAUGHTY BAD PEOPLE" is a gross oversimplification.

For the record, Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus. The Catholic church attached religious significance to the Pagan celebration of the winter solstice. However, the themes of brotherhood and universal love associated with Christmas--themes far removed from the straight-up religious significance attached to the holiday--are worth celebrating.
