There's corroborating reports for this, so don't feel bad.

But, as usual, I have to be a wet blanket: This is going to be based on the comics. Not on the animated series that you're all familiar with. The characters will not be what you're used to, you won't see many of the villains you're so attached to, and there will probably be no PuffyAmiYumi, or however the hell you spell it.

The cartoon is dramatically different from the comics that they're based off of--basically, the show is to the comics what Batman Begins/The Dark Knight is to the Batman comics (not in the way they're presented, because obviously The Dark Knight is nothing at all like the Teen Titans animated series, but they're both new interpretations of a classic source).

EDIT: I'm not seeing anything more recent than May 2007. It might have been scrapped, or it may have only been a rumor.

well at least its something. i would like to see a teen titans movie anyway. even if they aren't the ones i know. and its ok snake to be the wet blanket. i have to be the optimistic one.

true...perhaps this could be the final key into getting back the series..long stretch yes but it could be.

It's a (very small) possibility, but it hinges on the film being successful, both commercially and popularly. I checked the alleged writer's background; he's got a pretty mixed resume:

This is the guy who wrote Batman Forever and Batman and Robin--the two movies that all but killed Batman's reputation until Mike Nolan resurrected it in 2005. To say nothing of the horrendous flop that is Poseidon.

All in all, he's got some good movies under his belt, with his best probably being A Beautiful Mind. But there's too much fail there to ignore. I'd say having that guy on board drops the film's chances by at least 20%.

i think it will spark a flame for the return off tt hopefully...

still the very thought of a TT movie might get people interested...haven't you guys noticed the sudden explosion of marvel comics based movies? I guess that is the thing people want to see nowadays..so maybe TT could be popular..and like snake said..it all rests on fan support and how well it does in theaters.

i feel like we're getting closer and closer to getting a 6th season...idk it might just be me. :D

Correction: People want to see more movies like Spider-Man and X-Men. Those two movies are responsible for the sudden influx of superhero movies over this past decade.

But there's more to it than that, the movies actually have to be good. Dark Knight didn't become the second-highest grossing movie of all time simply because it has Batman in it. It did so because it was motherfusking epic. People want to see movies like that.

Then again, Watchmen didn't do so hot...but I digress; it depends on:

-The quality of the film

-The financial success (a movie can be a critical hit but a financial failure, or vice-versa)

-The existence of the film (nothing has been said about this alleged movie in two years).

I must say I was quite pleased on how Batman turned out. They did a fantastic job with it..and even that is an understatement!

You missed the part where it's not based on the cartoon--it's based on the comics. And I can all but assure you that if it's based on the comics, then there won't be a happy ending for Terra.

Sorry, but that's how this is. If there's a movie, it's not going to be based on the cartoon.
