Deadpool is awesomesauce.
But they really need to stop whoring him out in the comics now that they found out he's popular or else they're going to wear out his welcome.

The creative team for Team-Up ensures it will be good. The Professor wrote:Azrael wrote:Deadpool is awesomesauce.

That is the bittersweet part of the whole three ongoings thing.
I'm not sure if I'll pick up the Team-up or not. Maybe if I happen to like the character. Like if he teams up with the Hulk. Or Logan. That'd be awesome.
The one that could go without anyone missing it is Merc with a Mouth. It should have remained a mini.

Ah deadpool- THAT's the stuff! But I do agree that they are overusing him a bit lately. But that dosen't honestly affect me all that much- badass is as badass does.
Re: The Merc with a Mouth
Oh, I'm not too concerned with it either. I'm just worried about them wearing out his welcome with comic fans before the movie even gets here. He'll still be awesome irregardless.

Same here- i hope they don't wear him out. And you have all gained massive 'awesome' points in my book.
Re: The Merc with a Mouth
The day someone told me that Deadpool's mutant power was the ability to read the narrative caption boxes in the comics he was in and I realized they weren't kidding was the day I swore I would never read another Marvel comic.
As far as I'm concerned, they killed a once-amusing character with that, right there.

Deadpools popularity shot back up because of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. He was hands down the best character in the roster.

Actually, it was because of his appearance in Wolverine Origins. When it was first announced, Deadpool fans went nuts. Which led to Marvel being taken aback and finally realizing how popular the character was. So of course they had to start milking it for everything it was worth.Mercy wrote:Deadpools popularity shot back up because of Marvel Ultimate Alliance. Yeah, but that didn't change the fact that the film made Marvel wake up and realize Deadpool was far more popular than they thought. The Professor wrote:Azrael wrote:Actually, it was because of his appearance in Wolverine Origins. Dead pool is the sh*t. He's awesome in the comics. Too bad he got all muted in the X men origin movie.

Re: The Merc with a Mouth
I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this yet, but Deadpool, AKA Wade Wilson, was (ahem) heavily inspired by Deathstroke, AKA Slade Wilson. Rob Liefeld, who created Deadpool, has admitted this and subsequent Marvel writers who've used the character have even referenced the fact in some of their books.
The costume and name of the third Ravager, Wade DeFarge, was a pretty obvious "back at'cha" nod to Deadpool and an insider joke from DC to Marvel.

We pretty much like to forget the fact that he was created by Rob Liefeld, much less that he was ripped off of an equally cool character from another company.Cylor wrote:I'm surprised no one else has mentioned this yet, but Deadpool, AKA Wade Wilson, was (ahem) heavily inspired by Deathstroke, AKA Slade Wilson. Thank you Joe Kelly for taking Deadpool in a far less serious direction.
I'm pretty sure this was from a Superman/Batman annual.Where.. did you get this?
