The ''L'' word

In today's society, people (mostly teenagers) are quick to say '' I love you''. Most say it, like, way more than they, like, say ''Like''. What do you think are the main reasons why these 3 little words are so quickly and carelessly uttered?

Because, as a teen myself, everyone reads about love from fanstay novels and they want to feel it themselves. Rushing to say 'I love you' is just to make themselves feel like they aren't missing out on anything the world has to offer.

I personally just fall hard and fast for guys =P

Teenagers are idiots who think they understand what it means to love someone after spending a week with them. I could go on for hours about all the ninth grade couples I know who became "engaged" within a few days of being together.

Because I'm talking about a different kind of love; the kind that forms between good friends or siblings.

I've never dated anyone, because I've never really felt "that" kind of attraction towards someone. But, if/when I do, I'll probably get want to married as soon after as possible. My grandparents got married two months after meeting each other, and 43 years later, they're still together, and still in serious love.

As for seemingly every other teenager? Far as I can tell, they want to live in a soap opera. And... well... they're sort of idiotic when you get down to it.

Teenagers are stupid. It's biologically hardwired into them though, so don't read too much into it. That thing about your common sense only maturing in your twenties is true.

Hey, i resent that! some of the teens in this sordid, peer-pressuring, sex-crazed society may be dum-dums, but thats still a big, 'ol ugly generalization. I am fairly intelligent and prudent for my age. And I know others like me, thankyouverymuch.

44th anniversary is coming up sometime this year. And, they got married at 18. My grandpa wanted to get married one month after meeting, but my grandma wanted to finish high school.

Because today's society is confusing the word "love" with the word "lust", which is also an "l" word. The only thing is, it sounds really revolting to tell someone "I lust you", so, they use "love" instead to make it sound prettier/more flattering.

I'll be honest, I thought this was a thread about the show when I first saw it.

Lol, y'can't blame him. I've never seen it... is it good? Seems like theres a lot of characters.

I'm not really a fan, it's a little too heavy handed with the drama and relationships for my taste. I tried watching it though, since I had heard it won a lot of awards. Just isn't my kind of show. Granted, I'm also not their target audience I guess.
