That's kind of a stupid question. Rex was wasted by ONE MAN with a rocket launcher. Before it even fired much of anything.

Physalis fired it's nuclear bazooka and took out at least two thirds of the Earth Federations space fleet.

Rex would have it's dino imitatin' ass KICKED.

Alright, fine, but Gundams have, like...hundreds of years of technological development on REX. It's like pitting the Spanish Armada against the U.S.S. Missouri.

True enough. It'd be a far closer match if it were Rex against the original RX-78 model Gundam, however. It was a walking death machine, but it's capabilities weren't quite as grand as later models; though one has to admit that it's hard to argue against the laser rifles that come standard with almost any model of Gundam. Not to mention the high mobility of the mobile suits.

This is all assuming we're talking Rex against the RX-78 with a normal pilot; a Newtype like Amuro Ray in the Gundam would crush it, because Newtypes tend to be bad dudes like that.
