Man of Steel (2013)

New trailer came out, very interesting particularly the last 30 or so seconds. I saw it about three times now.

I've never really been the biggest Superman fan, but an origin movie seems like a good idea; certainly a better one than that live action series.

Superman with a beard might be a little weird, and I guess Zodd is going to be the enemy? I might have gone with Brainiac myself; but Zodd is a good one to fill Clark in on the whole Alien thing, and then try to take over the world.

Yeah, I'm glad they're rebooting Superman. It really does look like Superman Begins with the origin and childhood scenes; and I think they plan on merging this film into the Justice League film that's planned 2015.

Looks like they still have the same guy designing costumes as they did for the Green Lantern movie though... Let's hope they have a different guy writing, at least there's only ever been one Superman so we won't end up with that awkwardly heroic/snark/irritable amalgamation hero like we did for GL

Actually, Chris Nolan wrote it. So I expect it to be good. And the costumes for Green Lantern were horrible. Why did it have to be CG? It didn't. And the fact that the movie was very CG heavy didn't help the film since it was finished in the last three months before it premiered.

Yeah if the Superman et all movies do well I really hope they end up remaking the Green Lantern on like Marvel did for Spiderman; I hear the new one is leaps and bounds better than the old three.

Though on a more general note DC just needs to stop taking it's cues from Marvel, like seriously. Avengers does gangbusters; DC starts out on (the same) path for a Justice League movie.

Well, DC does seen to have the animate movies on a lock, while DC has the live action films. I really do hope they do a better job on the next Green Lantern film. Have you seen the new Spider-Man? I really enjoyed it, but I didn think the origin story was really necessary, like in Batman Begins. I must have seen the death of Bruce Wayne's parents at least five times on film.

I just hope they choose a better actor for Hal.

Yeah, there was something I read in regards to the old Superman movie. It was some comedian or something making a valid if funny point about it.

'We don't need another Superman origin movie. We all know who Superman is. Kids in Africa know who Superman is. Pick a different plot!'

I'm pretty sure even though this is an origin movie, it's going to go well. I have faith in the filmmakers that they're going to make it a new experience.
