Yeah, but they could have done so much more with it. Two Fox clones? "Toon" Link? Cop-outs. At least with Ganondorf, they took the effort to distinguish him from Captain Falcon just enough to make him his own character.

And they could have added a handful more characters from some of the more, shall we say, "neglected" franchises. I'm looking at you, Metroid. Dark Samus, Rundas? Either would do.

If they include third party characters in a hypothetical new installment, I'd think that they'd at least stick to characters who have appeared on Nintendo consoles in the past (Sonic has the two Adventure ports and Heroes on GC, which also carried MGS: The Twin Snakes). I have Geno and Mega Man in mind, personally.

...Also, adding Solidus Snake to the roster would be epic.

You must be easily impressed then. Half the roster were either pallete swaps with minimal differences or clones of other characters. I'd expected Nintendo to actually work towards distinguishing returning fighters this time. No such luck. That and Sonic was completely underwhelming.

They've got to raise the bar with the next one, because Brawl may have been fun but it wasn't a huge improvement.
