Teen Titans doesn't seem to be the only show that got cut off after 65. Register wasn't kidding when he said most of those kind of shows get cut off by then. At least this one's expected, so no cliffhangers I hope.

The tactics of shark week make me laugh.

"Shark attacks are a case of mistaken identity. Attacks are unlikely, so you really shouldn't be so frightened. Now, let's roll some clips of some scary sharks ripping food up, and show the horrific tales of survivors!"

I mean yeah, humans have the potential to make sharks extinct, but showing off all the scary stuff about them isn't going to gather much support for their cause.

More of a sarcastic jeer. But really, Shark week is a bit double-minded. It is run by conservationists in an effort to educate the public about sharks in order to gather support for their protection. However, in an effort to do so, they make out sharks to be fearsome, scary predators capable of eviscerating a human. In a nutshell, it's like trying to show everyone how misunderstood a bully is by playing clips of him beating up kids.

Don't get me wrong, I'm all for keeping sharks in the water, and watching them do their thing in Shark Week is something that I do like to watch. However, when it comes down to it, the producers clearly aren't reaching their goal of gathering sympathy for sharks.

But that's what Sharks ARE. They are scary predators capable of eviscerating a human. And yes, they need to be protected. Just because an animal needs to be protected, that doesn't mean it needs to be shown as cute and cuddly.

Shark week shows the awesomeness of Sharks, the importance of them, why they should be protected, and it also shows that you probably shouldn't go messing with them. Sharks aren't bullys, they're animals. They don't beat up kids, they eat to stay alive. There's a big difference.

The NRA should try to depict guns as firing rainbows and being powered by the strength of a mother's love, or some stupid Harry Potter crap like that.

The fact is, the shows don't gather support. They make John and Jane Public say "oh s***! scary sharks are scary."
