Well if it ends up looking as nice as I hope it will, it would make an excellent portfolio piece. Employers would love to see not only that you're capable of working with other people, but that you're capable of working with other people to create a marvelous result.

Well if Eve is living off of her work, then her work could be for existential means; eating, paying rent, things for the now. But even so committing to too many projects can make you lose track of which ones are needed by when.

Teen Titans Web Comic - Page 9 Empty Re: Teen Titans Web Comic

Post by TheDeceiverGod 10/5/2009, 5:50 pm

Oh and before I forget, just because the writing portion of the comic is taking a bit longer than originally intended, which to be 100% honest about I'm actually pleased with, doesn't mean that the artists have to just sit on their hands. There are many things which need to be decided esthetically, I assumed the comic would be straight right to left top to bottom most of the time but it could also be left to right like foreign books. Also the Typographer and the Lead Artist should have some sort of conversation about typefaces, those should probably be decided on and downloaded before production begins at least the generic fonts. I can recommend to start that at least the 40 free fonts that everyone should own be looked at as well as someone paying a visit to DaFont.com to get a feel for some of the more obscure sound-effect-y fonts.

Not to mention to my knowledge the method of differentiating between characters has yet to be decide, and if they are to have a font a character those should be settled upon by the Typographer and the Lead Artist.

Line Artist and Colorists don't really have that much to do, but learning to draw the Titans repeatedly and from various angles couldn't hurt, I might recommend doodling them from odd perspectives in your free time, margins of worksheets, backs of tests, that sort of thing, getting good at the 3/4 view is rather important straight on or profile tends to get boring if you see it too much.

Uhm, yeah, other than that just keep your heads up and your pencils ready. Also don't forget to check by the Concept Feedback thread to throw in your two cents.

Titans Forever!

Well we also have to decide a style of art.. I mean, I certainly don't want to keep the same exact art style as the show.

Oh no, my work is not for such needs, I indeed can take part of a non-profit project if it holds my interest.

@DecieverGod: Even if this webcomic turns out to be relatively nice, I am not sure how it is to fit in a portfolio such as mine. Yes, clients do like to see the ability of working with others, but I have infact already much to show for that, having as well done numerous collaborations with other artists. Excuse me if I sound too boastful.

Perhaps another thing stopping me from joining this team is that I am still not convinced if this is an established project. I do not mean to offend but when I first found this forum, I was really not impressed. I understand this forum has now a new goal but I still have yet to see sufficient solid progress.

As I said, if time will permit, I will continue to think on it though I cannot make any promises based on my own demanding schedule. Oh and if anyone is interested, you can view my temporary portfolio as I construct my new site here.

Well color me impressed. We'd be honored to have you here if you want.
As for whether this is a 'real' project or not I can assure you that I dedicate some time of each day to insuring it progresses as planned, and as of this moment I do believe we have a working first season line up, and are prepared to begin script writing for the first episode.

Yeah, me and laughing_man pretty much have the first season episodes organized. We just have to elaborate a little bit more to make the plot for each episode clearer for the script witer(s).

I consider myself management, and there for have recused myself from any official involvement. I still have suggestions but I attempt to make clear that they should be taken only as any other suggestion would.
