Yeah. Weird even for the All-Star story. Which isn't a far cry from the "Emo Batman" quip that was making fun of the scan.

More "Emo Violent Batman" but whatever. It's hear-say since I've yet to actually read the All -Star stories myself. But they aren't in the regular continuity. Sorta like side, what-if stories for the funsies. Or that's how I was told to see them, at least.
