Disney bought Marvel for $4 billion. I'm pretty sure I don't need to give a link to you guys about this... It's all over the internet. I know how DC was bought by Warner Bros, and personally I'm okay with it. (in fact, I love it. Without that event, TT doesn't exist). But DISNEY? And Marvel? What kind of marriage is THAT? I don't see how they fit each other...

I just remembered someone my dad is friends with knows dwayne mcduffie, a guy who helped make tt. I can't believe i forgot i met him!!! if i recall right, my dad's friend was dwayne mcduffie's step sister or something. dwayne mcduffie helped make episodes for tt i believe. Anyhow, thats some random news, huh? :D

I think Dwayne wrote an episode or two of Teen Titans in it's early seasons, but he wasn't overly involved in it. Most of his work around that time was on JLU. He was a primary writer for that one. I think he just didn't really have the time; it happens with TV writers. Any television scripter will tell you that just working on one show alone eats up your time.

The Disney/Marvel merger is an interesting beast. It feels like it came out of nowhere. But the two companies have had business dealings in the past, so there's a bit of precedent.

I think the main motive behind the purchase lies in Disney's successes and failures in itself. Much of it's focus has been on little girls for so long that they lost a lot of their other audiences. They were looking to recapture that as far back as two years ago and wanted to buy something that would help with that.

Marvel has a pretty large stable of characters and has a record of grabbing the young to teenage sect with their animation. There are plenty of oppourtunities to use now that they have the large cast of character Marvel owns. Also, if nothing else they now have a new revenue stream; and we all know Disney loves money.

I'm a staunch DC fan, but I like Marvel comics as well, so this news is a bit disconcerting. We don't know enough right now to know if this will be good or bad. Time will tell, I suppose.
