Yeah, who cares what medical science has to say about anything? All they did was give us vaccines that rendered formerly-terminal illnesses inert and taught us incredible amounts about the way the human body functions--more in the past century than in all other eras combined! I'm gonna go stick leeches all over my body and pray! That's FAR more effective than anything so-called "medical science" has ever given us!

They're one in the same actually, like Snake said. I mean, if medial science was forced to go ahead without medical studies we'd be nowhere like where we are now. Medical studies are where we get our data. Without being able to do studies on medicines, we'd have no clue what side effects they would have or how well they worked.

With that said, some studies DO have more resounding or immediately important results. But to blanket sate that you choose not to believe anything that is a scientific study, or medical study, or whatever is just silly.

I removed the cb for the remainder of the night. I shouldn't have to ask 4 times for members to stop bickering. The cb will be put back up tomorrow afternoon.

The Admins will not tolerate arguing. If that wasn't clear to you guys before, I hope it is now.

Man, think about it objectively. The only logical course of action to prevent sh*t like this from going down in the future is to delete the chatbox permanently. Those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it.

When people argue on the forums, we don't up and delete the entire forum. There might be another way to solve this without total obliteration of a module that has been on this site for a while now. I don't like the idea of making everyone suffer because of a few people who can't keep the peace and decide to be rowdy. Honestly, I'd much rather do away with the few who cause trouble. But I guess the admins will be deciding the fate of the cb soon.

Well in that case the easy thing to do would be to ban people. Though Honestly I don't see the point in the chat box. They were useful years ago when the internet was younger and online chatting was finicky. But now, they just seem redundant.

From what I saw, Mykan was only discussing his fanfics with everyone on the cb. He got a lot of criticism and some harsh remarks in return. Is it fair to say he is 100% to blame, when all he did was talk about his writing?

Here's the thing; he whores his fics out at every oppourtunity. I'm not even a regular in the chatbox and I know that. If someone reads something, they're going to talk about it. Even if it's just talk about a concept, they're going to talk about it. Surprise, it's not all going to be positive.

People improve by criticism and taking it to heart. He ignores it. If a base concept is flawed, it's flawed; Superman going absolutely insane and murdering everyone just because Lois left him would never fly, for example. He says the craziest things and acts like it's all normal.

And a good reason to boot. A number of days ago I and another member were giving a different perspective on this particular event that occured in one of this fics. We disagreed with his method of exploiting a situation that we felt was unnecessary. As a writer myself, I would welcome any criticism, even if slightly harsh, for the fact that it would help me improve. If he doesn’t want to be criticized then he shouldn’t try to slather everyone with his ideas, and then whine about it if not everyone caters to his ideas.

Let's not forget that he has a habit of insulting people who disagree with his views and/or fics when they're not around. I've seen archives before of such conversations from some of the several friends I have on here. I'm quite sure I'll be a popular topic around the old water cooler now too.

And then he threatens to leave because said people disagree with him? That's taking things a little more than a little overboard. They're fics, not original workings, as a main point. I had a flamer one my very first fic back in the day, and you know what? It actually made me happy. My first critic. What a thrill that was. I'm almost concerned that I haven't had any after that.
