I actually thought that was what this thread was for, world news that everyone could discuss and chat about. I just assumed that the however many past pages were off topic spamming and such. That's why I've posted news links in this thread before. My bad if it's purpose was something else.

For the record, I'm mostly just defending my countries health care system. No, it's not wonderful and perfect and no it doesn't cover everything, but it's none too shabby. I rather enjoy my ~$2000 less a year spent on health care compared to you Yanks. xP

Now, in other News, because I think it's worth mentioning. An explosive was just set off in an airplane not too long ago at DTW (Detroit). Which is the airport I fly out of when I travel, since it's closer. Now, I'm a nervous flier to begin with, god help me next time I decide to go somewhere. :)

BTW Sponge, I was not being sarcastic in my tone earlier, I was actually being serious when I thanked you for the info. I am not pretending to be some pretentious philosopher as Snake would assume, but simply curious as to the mindset of others from afar. I never extended the villification of your system beyond a sentence if you read what I have posted. I was actually curious, for real, and thank you lol. I simply pointed out a fact, and asked questions. I think that was pretty much it lol. At least you are frank.

Fair enough, I've just been defensive on the subject lately, since watching Congress the last little bit has been... fun. Canada has been demonized. I've seen people say, with all honesty, that once someone in this country retires we no longer treat them for health problems, and they used this as their argument for why the USA shouldn't have Canada-esque Health Care.

So yeah, I'm a little defensive.

And I'm just as presumptuous as you on the purpose of this thread. You assumed RANDOM news, I assumed random NEWS!

In case anyone was curious, things are finally calming down around here. Between the sicknesses ravaging the house and my grandfather dying, it's been pretty crappy around here. But Christmas brightened things up somewhat and everythings getting back to normal around the house.

Maybe I'll start dropping in some more again.
