Its strange how a really bad thing can sometimes work out for your good. Take african slavery for example. It was a horrible, cruel, inhumane thing. But if my ancestors were not enslaved and brought to America, I would probably be in Africa right now, dying of starvation and surrounded with an AIDS epidemic.
Oh good lord, this again. *facepalm*
Not long ago, I got into a shouting match with my girlfriend because she implied that Africa was better off under Colonial rule. Of course, she was incredibly PMSy and angry at the time, so I don't think much of it, but at the time I was pissed. I get that's not what you're saying, but damn if it doesn't come dangerously close to pushing my berserk button.
If your ancestors hadn't been enslaved and brought to America, you wouldn't exist in the first place. Your existence hinges on a series of key meetings, factors and situations over the centuries that passed between your ancestors' migration and your birth, and a completely different scenario (like, say, your ancestors staying in Africa rather than crossing the pond to America) than the one that occurred to bring about your existence. Thus, you wouldn't be around to muse on the irony of missing out on starvation and death by AIDS.
If the United States had never gone to war with Mexico, I wouldn't exist either.
I see what you are saying, but i'm not sure I agree with that. I may sound crazy when I say this, but I don't think my existence is based on chance meetings and certain scenarios that would determine if I would walk this earth or not. I didn't ask to be born; no one on earth did. But everything happens for a reason. If the events that occurred to bring about my existence occured a different way, I wouldn't imagine the result would be someone else being born and me never existing. I really, really don't believe my existence is the result of chance, that I just so *happened* to be here because of pure coincidence. I don't think I can explain much more than that besides stating its just my belief.

Its up to you to decide whether you will acknowledge only the unfortune things that occur in your life or whether you will count your blessings. The choice you make decides your morale, contentment and outlook on your life.

Probably could have capped that one with the first sentence. Brevity being the soul of wit, and all.

But isn't this one redundant? Trust is, literally, someone's belief in you.

Hmm, maybe in a way, but it depends what type of trust. I think there are different types of trust. Trust can also be defined as reliance placed upon another or dependance. If I knew you personally and I trusted you with all my secrets and then you go off and tell everyone about every skeleton in my coset, I would no longer believe and have faith that I can entrust my deepest, darkest secrets to you. However, if we happened to be on that reality show ''Amazing Race'' and i trusted that you could keep up with me and not be left in my wake, but then we come in last place, i would probably lose any belief that i could depend on you when the chips are down. There is trust that you give to someone because you really believe they will come through for you and there is trust that you give someone because you simply can't trust anyone else.
...But then again when I look at it, it DOES look redundant. And because i just speculated on definitions of trust, i have a new idea for the blurb. So how about this:
Random Blurb
When you lose a person's trust, its like you transform and become a whole new person in their eyes. They no longer know you for you, but what you've proven yourself to be.

That sounded like something at the end of ''Ned's declassified school survival guide'', didn't it? well, i guess it's less controverial than the last one. >.>

I wouldn't know; you see, I don't watch crap. I'm flawed that way.
It's less redundant though. I suppose I could be persuaded to give it a passing grade.

I am currently working to upload all of Teen Titans seasons 1-5 to Livestream. Tomorrow, and again Sunday, I intend to hold and all day Teen Titans viewing Marathon for anyone interested. It will be showing Here Though it will of course not begin until I log on, and end when I log off, I will attempt to remain in the chatbox for the duration, but I don't expect to be successful.
Teen Titans Rules and we really need to get a Darkseid smiley.

Not the best analogy Crazy, since having your cake and eating it to is a saying about how you can't work for something and enjoy it at the same time.

Maybe not the best, but its not the worst.
My point was you can't always have things work both ways in your favor. In this case, you can't have a healthy liver and be an avid drinker. But there are actually different interpretations of that saying.

Well also, they say a little red wine every day is good for your heart. And I'd call drinking a glass of wine every day 'avid.'

I was just told by a fourteen year old girl that she sees the world in ways I cannot possibly comprehend.
This may be due to the lack of intoxicating substances in my bloodstream.

Yes, but they only suggest a 4oz amount, which is defined as a ''drink'' of wine and is moderate, not doing any tremendous damage to the liver, and thats suggested only to people who already drink alcohol. Some people think they should START drinking wine to reap the nutritional benefits. But the American Heart Association says just the opposite according to this article:
http://www.healthcastle.com/redwine-heart.shtml
When I said ''Avid Drinker'', I basically meant ''Alcoholic.'', or someone who drinks beyond the limit of an innocuous amount of booze. Excuse me for not being clearer.
