The Darkest of Knights

The Batman was rendered useless, he was unconsious, head dangling, and body limp. A strong fire began to lick at their feet as water began to fill the ship. Robin began to panic but then the Batwing stopped sinking. It hit the bottom of the floor and she could still see the city lights. This was good, but now she had to pull Batman out...

Batman had his hands folded. Looking into the distance and sitting on the shores of dirty waters. He couldn't keep from looking at the Batwing. "I never said where we were going or what I did?" He asked Robin.

Watching Caspian leave, Karmy stood up and took a big bucket of water out of her bag. She poured it on the fire to extinguish it before she left. With the fire out and the bucket away Karmy looked around the clearing one last time, and snapped her fingers. A shimmering portal appeared on the floor in front of her and she was about to jump in when she remebered something. "I wonder.." she said to herself as she reached into her bag again. She pulled out a familiar old watch with the letters RP scripted along the back. For the past 2years, no matter what she did, she could never get the watch working for it had stopped right about the time she joined up with Casius. Flipping it open, a grin spread across her face. "22:00 Cold-Bleak"

Laughing, Karmy stuffed the watch back into the secret pocket of her bag, adjusted her headband, and jumped through the portal. Appearing in Ernies bar, Karmy landed with ease behind Casius Ghost and Cyrah. "Hey guys." she looked up at the TV. "Guess you've heard the news huh?"

Bleak Cold... dark

Batman was concerned as he heard sirens pick up. "Maybe I can get an answer..." Batman said holding his hand to his ear. "Wintergreen, do you hear me?" He asked. "As always sir." He replied. "What happened Wintergreen?"
"Apparently you murdered Commissioner Gordon."
"I what?! That's impossible!" He said raising his voice.
Robin was jumping. "What's going on? What happened?" She asked.

"I killed Barbara's father."

Crimson and Nano stared at the tv in absolute shock. Of all the people in gotham, the commisioner had just been murdured by the batman. THE BATMAN! "This is impossible..." Crimson said as he turned off the tv. "I knew it was only a matter of time before he snaped" Nano said. I dunno why he did it.....maybe it was mind control?
Brainwash?
Druged?
Hypnotized?

Whatever the reason was, the 2 brothers didnt like it but they knew but they also didnt know as they ran out of their houses and jumped across gotham citys buildings to the bar where cassius was, 1 Thought remained in their heads: Maybe it was only a matter of time before the batman snapped.....

And to them, he finally did.

"Who DIDN'T hear the news? When it involves batman, word gets out fast." Cyrah said, looking up at Karmy. "So, where did you run off to time? We were nearly afraid there was going to be a repeat of Moscow."She said jokingly, casting a glance at Casius. "You hush- nobody can prove that was me. Besides, do we need to talk about you and Tokyo, or is this over?" Casius grumbeled back, hushing Cyrah pretty fast. "That aside, while we're in Gotham anyways, we may as well do some snooping into all of this. You know me by now- nosy-ness is my forte'." Casius said. Naturally, he was intruiged by the whole situation, and was hungry for details.

"I'm never taking you to Tokyo again." Karmy laughed at Cyrah. "But yeah I agree with you Cas. Somethings afoot and this could get interesting. Where do you wanna start?" she asked, her fingers ready to create the portals needed to get them where they need to go.

When The 2 arrived at the bar, the 1st thing on their list was not a drink, but to find someone who knew a little bit more about what the hell was going on in this crime ridden town. Casius was the first on their list. Having never seen casius without his armor, the 2 decided to split up to cover more ground. "Ill go ask around the police and other areas, you look for this casius guy. "but how will i know when i find him?" Nano responded. "He's a freaking huge guy" Crimson said you'll know him when you see him. And with that he jumped on a hotel and out of sight. Luckly for Nano, he found the legendary giant on his first guess. "Hey you in the seat"
i hear you know the bat pretty good, you got any pointers on what happened?

And with that he stood and waited for his reply.

"I'll admit, the thing with in Tokyo was..... unusual, but it dosen't COMPARE to what Ghost did in Hong-Kong." Cyrah replied, crossing her arms afterwards like a scolded child. Casius looked at Karmy. "We best start at the top of the ladder, people that have spent a long time with the bat recently. Perhaps we ought to check in on Mercy and others?" Casius proposed. Upon hearing his name called, he turned to the scource of the voice. "I just found out myself, kid. And whatever the job is, you can't afford me." he joked, getting to his feet and preparing to depart with Karmy and the others.

Zero snapped awake in a cold sweat. Yet another nightmare had woke him up. He grogilly sloughed out of bed and trudged over to Luna, not even bothering to put on his shirt or jacket. "Ugh." he said to Luna in greeting.

"Attention Citizens of Gotham, if you bring in the Bat, you'll get yourself a nice paycheck. Six-" The broadcast was cut short. Courtesy of Alice and Barbara.

"Oh damn that's right! Ghost you're almost as crazy as me'" Karmy laughed. "Mercy!! Oh man I forgot she was here." a plan started to form in her head. "Well knowing the situation and knowing her, she's probably at the police station. Let's go!" and she snapped her fingers and they were on their way. Landing in front of the station Karmy turned to Cyrah. "Shhh.. When y'all see her, don't tell her I'm here. Say I'm like in Kentucky beating up kids or something. I wanna scare her." she grinned and portaled away to wait, keeping an eye on the building and the small group.

"Me and my brother have no intention of hiring you, Nano said, as a matter of fact we know your going to investigate into this and we want join in. Nano then flipped up the pannel on his right arm and said, Crim....Come on back. Why?" Crimson said, Just come on back, Nano said and he closed his communicator with a *wap*. That is if you dont think this job is for children....,Nano said as his arm changed into his cannon and back again.

Im b-back, Said crimson dripping with sweat and panting furiosly. S-so what d-did you call me back f-for?, Crimson said. Crimson stopped his panting and turned to Zero who looked quite pale and sweaty. "You ok kid? He said to zero.

Barbara walked out and nearly bumped into another gentleman who seemed obsessed with black clothing. He was tall and she admired his Motorcycle. Alice was wearing jeans and a brown leather jacket with her hair combed back into her fedora. She looked like a completely different person. She walked along-side with Barbara who got in her car, she took the passenger seat, buckling herself down she said "I noticed Casius and his daughter at the station." "Who are they?" Barbara asked. "We used to be a team. They're probably snooping around, looking for answers." Alice relaxed into her seat. "You want to say hi to them?" Barbara asked. There was a pause. "Nah." And they drove away.

[erm, Zero dosen't know those two yet, they havent met yet in this RP]

Casius waved karmy off. "Yeah sure whatever." He said, and trudged into the police station. He had to amdit to himself that it was awkward as hell for him-Casius the bounty hunter- to simply stroll into a police station looking for good guys. It was about then that he heard the announcement, which was cut abruptly short. Six what? Million? hundred thousand? Maybe it was sixTY instead of jsut six. Oh well, no time for that now. Him and Ghost all wakwardly approached the front counter, albeit Cyrah had significantly less awkard feelings associated with this. "Excuse me, is there a... uh....what was her real name again... Alice Mau here?" He asked, feleing as awkward as a deer at a Bass Pro shop.

"Uhh excuse me sir we're really busy right now. You can take a look for yourself." The lady at the front counter said handing him a clipboard with a list of names and times. Visit times and leaving times.

Deep below Gotham City, E-Lu was muttering in his bunker, watching the city with an absent third eye. To anyone that could of seen him, he'd look like a rambling old prisoner in a dark cell. To him however, the cell was never a cell, in this case, he was in a dingy floating in the middle of an ocean, being followed by, to the best of his ability, what he thought was a kraken...although he was worried by the kraken, he knew he wouldn't get hurt; he never did for some reason or another... He focused his abilities on Gotham City, gazing across the city. It seemed different, like something had happened. For him, this was good, he never liked that place. He continued watching, for what reason, he couldn't guess, but he wanted to know.

Seab and Hac were perched atop a flagpole somewhere within Gotham City. Seab had snapped to attention when he heard the announcements on Batman. He never paid much attention to the happenings around...anywhere really, but even he had heard of Batman. He didn't even care that the announcement was cut off; even an unnamed amount was good to him.
"I'll guess we're going after Batman." Hac said, simply a screeching noise to anyone in earshot.
"Yes, the reward should keep us going for a while." Seab replied in the same way.
"I'll never understand humans and their need for money..."
Seab and Hac flew back down to the streets; Seab morphing back into a human, Hac perched on his shoulder.

Karmy, who had been sitting on top of the building across from the station, saw Casius and the rest go into the building. even though she was older now and she hadn't had had a drop of coffee in years, She could not stay put for long. Looking around, she saw a car speeding off. As curious as it was, Karmy decided to rejoin the group. She portaled into the station next to Cyrah and listened to Casius talk business. "Anything yet?" she whispered to Cyrah.

Casius examined the list. He caught on pretty fast who was who. Yup, they had been here recently. He passed the clipboard back. "Thank you." he said and headed out the door, Casius and Karmy close by. "They're one step ahead of us, it seems." Cyrah said to Karmy. Casius rubbed his chin in thought. "They weren't there for very long for an investigation. Obviously, they either had to leave quickly, or found something. either way, finding them is definiteley next on our to-do list." he said, setting off down the road. Next place to possibly find them was Wayne manor, and after destroying remodeling it 2 years ago, he knew right where to go.

Barbara's car (Dick payed for it) stopped in front of the Wayne Manor. She breathed in deeply and covered her face, exhaling, tears came spilling out and her voice cracked as she wept. Alice put a comforting hand over her shoulder, still strapped in. "Do you think he actually killed him?" Alice asked. She shook her head. "C'mon, let's go.. We have to keep moving."

They got out of the car and into the mansion, Alice helping her walk.

"Well that's not surprising." Karmy said. "So.. Do y'all really think that Bats would do that?" she asked unsure. "I mean kill a man in cold blood.?"

Barbara undressed and began fitting herself in her costume. Tights, belt, gloves, boots, cowl. She checked her belt to make sure she wasn't missing anything, then she double checked. It would suck if she were caught in a jam and she wasn't prepared. Batgirl looked into the mirror. She was happy to be standing again, but other thoughts clouded her mind.

Alice had been wearing her suit under her clothes, tossing her fedora aside and stripping off her clothes she picked up her belt that Dick had designed and payed for and strapped it around her waist. Her guns felt more comfortable at her sides. Time to get to work...

"Hard to say- I'm not batman. BUT, from what I can tell, he wouldn't kill unless he had a pretty damn good reason. And that is assuming he killed him at all. It's gonna take a lot more details before I can come to a conclusion." Casius said, having been asking himself the exact same hting earlier. They were coming up on the famous mansion, with it now in clear sight.

"Yeah I guess." Karmy replied. Truth be told, she wasn't so sure herself what to think. Would the Batman really kill a man who was supposedly his friend? Even though she didn't really get along with Dick too much, Karmy knew he was a good guy... Right? Shaking her head, she decided to see what Mercy said about all this. She knew that she could trust her. Following Casius and Cyrah, they walked up the pathway to the mansion.

Casius plodded up to the door. He secretly feared that this was going to be another dead end, but knocked on the door anyways.
