Ono swiftly manuvered about the opulent mansion towards the sound of voice- paniced, no doubt suprised at the sound of an intruder. Ono frankly didn't care- he adorned the door with his foot and kicked it open to reveal the room where the Greysons had recently been blissfuly enjoying their morning. Quickly, Ono Rushed for Dick

and went stright past him.

Like some hellish bird of prey, his focus was locked on the children, his jacket fanning behind him and resembling a hellish pair of wings as he pursued Barbara and the Greyson kids with deceptive speed.....

"Not for nothing, I agree- face like that, you need all the beauty sleep you can get." Backarat said to Reaper snideley, quickly shut up by a bullet that came jsut a teency bit too close for comfort. "Less talk more targeting." Cass said, trying to get a lock on where the bullets might be coming from, but it was dificult to determine due to the density of the trees of the woods the attacker was firing from....

Jenga was about to shoot a comment to Domino when suddenly his phone jsut.... died. No rhyme or reson, it jsut shut off. As did his armor, and the rest of the car. And all of the other cars nearby. "The hell is this crap?" He asked out loud, taking off the helmet, having never truly grasped how heavy the suit was untill now, when it was just deadweight.

Barbara turned around and kneed the oncoming intruder in the chest with her left leg then jumped and kicked his head with her right. "Go!" She yelled at them as Dick began to catch up, "Whoa mom, you kick ass!" Alice exclaimed, "Don't say that in front of your little brother, now go!" Barbara shouted. What did she expect? Barbara and Dick had told them stories of their adventures as Batgirl, Robin, Batman, and Oracle. Seeing it in action was completely different from the bed time and dinner table stories for sure.

Alice grabbed Bruce's hand, "C'mon Bruce!" Alice shouted. "Hey what do you think I'm doing?!" Bruce pouted as he got up and ran with his sister.

Dommino kept on trying to start the engine but it was dead as a doornail. "f*ck me... What the hell happened?" she hopped out of the car, ordering everyone out. She went to the back to check on the sniper. "Hey, give me an update, guys. Why'd everything go dead all of a sudden?" she asked.

Karmy woke up covered in sweat and tears, her head hurting slightly from falling asleep crying. She turned over in the bed and saw that Robert had passed out while still leaning against the head board. He never really could pull an all nighter like Karmy could. Feeling a bit dizzy, Karmy headed to the bathroom. She flipped the lights on, her pupils dilating from the harsh light and the cold felt cold against her bare feet as she walked to the sink. Shaking from head to toe and ghostly pale, Karmy stared at her image. Dark circles lay underneath her eyes from the restless sleep, even the current color of her eye's was dim and dull.

"Damn, there's too many dang trees." Jack mumbled. Jack Crouched just as a bullet almost went between his eyes. He took out his tranq dart rifle and slapped a fresh clip in it. he looked out the window and fired his entire clip at the direction of the bullets. "Damn sniper!" Jack said as a bullet grazed his shoulder.

Onomatopoeia was initialy stunned by the attack, but this was the former Batgirl, he wasn't too suprised. Recovering almost instantaneously, he quickly pushed Barbara out of the way to pursue the children- oh he could have taken on Barbara, but he had his orders. He withdrew a small sphere and threw it at the children. The sphere burst apart, forming a net which dropped on the kids. He needed to wait precious seconds for his escape, so he withdrew an old military pistol and fired down th ehall to dissuade the greysons from giving pursuit. If one looked close enough, they would notice a pair of militart dogtags on Ono.....

"Would you just SHUT UP!?" Backarat snapped at Jack, in no mood for the man's obsceneley large mouth. he aimed his own weapon into the woods to counter, but swuddenly, as quickly as the shooting started, it stopped- abruptly and suddenly, the gunfire stopped....

"EMF- electro magnetic feild. it would explain how everything nearby has stopped." Jenga explained to Dommino. He was familiar with how EMFs worked, having seen them used several times in the war. "Odds are the dumbhole that used it ain't far away." Jenga pointed out. And he was right....

Alice and Bruce screamed as they were entrapped by the netting, their father on their rescue. If Dick Grayson was scared of anything, it was Angelina Jolie's monstrous lips, gunfire? No. Gunfire down the halls of his father's house? Not the first time. A batarang found it's way to Dick's hand and he tossed it aiming at the kidnapper. The sharp boomerang broke the air as it slashed off the dogtags hung around Onomatopoeia's neck.

Reaper looked around. "Well that's just lovely," He snorted looking around expecting to get shot. "c'mon what gives? I just got out." Reaper complained pulling his submachine gun from his hip.

Dani gave a yelp of surprise when the car had blown to bits, and had scampered as far from the gunshot as she could've without leaving her comrades.

Arming herself with her only real weapon- her stun gun- and feeling terribly vulnerable to her elusive enemies, she attempted to lift some of the blown metal car bits. It was difficult, but she managed to fashion a foot long, foot wide shield of sorts and lifted it to her face.

Onomatopoeia quickly put his hand where the Batarang had deprived him of his dogtags. He felt he ought to retreive them, but he had other priorities right now. He holistered his projectile pistol, and withdrew a ne wpistol. Unlike the military one, this one was mroe sleek and modern- a lazer pistol. With a flash of yellow, Ono blew apart a nearby window, oddly saying the word "crash" as the window crashed to peices. Like a demented Santa Claus, He slung the net containing the greyson children over his shoulder and bounded out the window. Although it was a three story drop, Ono took it in stride and quickly took off with his prize, headed where his ride was waiting by the street....

Jacob was about to handle the call of nature, but noticed Karmy occupying the restroom. "Oh, sorry." He said politeley, but doubled back when he noticed how rough she was doing. "Hey, you OK miss?" He asked her.

Cassius contemplated the best course of action- with the fire stopped, they SHOULD move in to go get their killer. But who said he wasn't just waiting for them to come and get him? He'd only be endagering his squad with those orders. But he didn't have to wait- a knife was thrown into the clearing, a peice of paper strapped to it. Cautiously, ever so cautiously, Cassius got the knife from where it had been embeded into the ground, and removed the paper attatched to it. Well, he didn't need an expert to translate THIS one- it was a small peice of a map, just the location of where the disappearances had occured. Over it was a large circle with an X. "Don't need an expert for THIS one." Cassius snorted. It was obvious someone REALLY didn't want them headed to that site. All the more reason to go.

[Since nobody from Dom's team posted, there's nothing I can really do with that one oPo]

(sh*t, sorry Red Dx)

Dommino slipped her helmet on. "Alright, eye's and ears open, people." she told her team. "Pretty sure we're about to see some action." she flipped on the heat sensors on her helmet and scanned the area. "Somewhere.."

Karmy jumped a foot in the air when she heard Jacob behind her, covering her mouth before she screamed. "Oh, Jacob, sorry." she breathed out, her hand over her racing heart. "Didn't see you there. And.. Not really." she leaned against the sink, trying to calm herself down.

Dick ran over to the window as he heard his children call for him desperately. "Damn!" Dick cursed punching the window sill, blood seeping out of his cuts. "Onomatopoeia." Barbara said quietly. "What?" Dick asked turning around to see his wife on the floor examining the dog tags. "Face it Dick, we're not like our old selves, we can throw a batarang but we can't purse a chase. His name is Onomatopoeia, I can bring it by the office. I'll make everyone search for him." Barbara said standing up with the Dog tags to go get her coat. Dick had to contact Oracle so Batmen could know to be on the look out. Just as they were ready to leave Terry pulled up on his motorbike at Wayne Manor. "Hey Mr. Grayson." He greeted. "They've been taken, are you free?" Dick asked. "It's a saturday isn't it? And who's been taken?" He asked. "Our children." Barbara answered frankly, and almost emotionlessly.

Reaper shook his head, he knew that they would probably have it "The human mind doesn't wake up in the morning thinking this is it's last day on earth. I think that's a luxury. Not a curse. Outgunned, outnumbered, out of our minds, on a suicide mission, but..." Reaper paused for a dramatic effect looking about his crew, "They will remember us for this. We're going to march right over there and show them what for. We go out like a breath exhaled from the Earth, with vigor in our hearts and one goal set in minds: we will rescue those children no matter what."

Onomatopoeia knew that Greyson would no doubt be sending every bat and their dog after him, and no matter how fast he was, he wouldn't be able to outrun the shadow of the bats in Gotham, at least without a ride. But when he ran out ot the road, luck- or so he thought- blossomed in front of him in the form of a sleek, cobalt- blue sportscar stopped at a red light. "Flop." He said, inglorisouly dropping the two bound children on the ground, making his move. like an unholy bullet, he arced for the car. The driver, a young, red-haird women, probably early twenties, didn't have time to react as the bzzare masked man flung her car door open and tossed her out. He was about to go and get his sack when the woman suddenly planted her foot upside his head. "What's your problem, dillweed?" She asked, taking a suprisingly sophisticated fighting pose.

Onomatopoeia was unphased, and quickly pulled a knife. She swiped it at her, only saying the word 'swish' each tyime the curved steel swung through the air. But this wasn't a run of the mill person he was dealing with- the woman expertly grabbed the knife, and with a sudden jerk of her hand, disarmed him with suprising skill and strength. Ono was suprised. normal people shouldn't be able to do that.

Then again, normal people weren't Cheyenne Freemont. Chey was about to make a smart remark when she noticed Alice and Bruce tied up. It didn't take long for her to put two and two together to realize what was going down. "Sonova-" Chey ran for the two to try and get them free, but was intercepted by a forceful kick from Onomatopoeia, him saying simply 'Whack' as the kick connected to her side. Chey was knocked away, and Onomatopoeia's attention returned to the kids. Big msitake- Chey rolled off tot he side into an alleyway, where she quickly shed her daytime clothes to reveal her Nightwing attire underneath. Quickly ad hereing the mask to her face, she quickly wasted no time in procuring a nightken [fushion of Nightwing and Shuriken, like how batarang is a fusion of Bat and Boomerang] and flinging it for the net, hacking it apart.

Ono wasn't about to give up his prize so easily- He quickly procured a Bolas from his jacket and constricted Alice with it. He planned to do the same with Bruce, but with a sound like a jet turbine, he was swiftly- if inelegantly- yanked out of the way by Nightwing's telepathic powers. Nightwing then released another nightken in hopes of cutting Alice loose as well, but Ono had no time for this constant catch- and- release game- every second was another moment closer to being intercepted by Batmen. Drawing his pistol, Ono countered the Nightken with a bullet, deflecting it away. He then followed up by firing at Nightwing, saying 'blam' after each shot'. With Bruce yanked too far out of his reach, Ono decided to just stick with Alice- continuing to use his gun to keep Nightwing away, and maintaining a firm grip on Alice's binds to keep her from being spirited away by Chey's powers- he callously flung the girl intot he stolen car, and sped off, flashing his gun and firing back at Nightwing to keep people well the hell out of the maniac's way.

Chey had managed to evade the bullets, her powers doing a lot of the work for her. She of course planned to pursue him, but she needed to tend to Bruce first. "Hey, kid, are you ok, think you can walk?" She said hurriedly, not wanting to let Ono put too much distance between him and her......

Normally Backarat would look of an excuse to make a snarky remark, but even he couldn't help but be impressed by Reaper's remark. Cassius nodded in approval. He looked at the crossed out map peice in his hand. If someone didn't want them to go there.... well, it was jsut more motivation for them to go and see why. "Yeah. I think somebody is going to get their ass whupped before this day is out." Cassius remarked. There was just one itsy bitsy issue......

Their car just got shot up......

Bruce spat out the sock in his mouth to keep him from screaming and nodded, though he was crying he tried his hardest not to show it.

While Onomatopoeia was looking back to shoot his gun he felt a large thump at the front of the car. "Y'know kidnapping is stupid, but you have to be a complete mental case if you decide to kidnap the children of the CEO of Batman Inc." Batman (Terry) said as he had his foot pressed against the windshield. "Oh look at that, I know this car, grand theft auto. Man you're just really digging a hole here aren't you?" He asked sarcastically.

"So...Hitchhiking?" Dani asked quietly, making a mental note of her teammate, Reaper: Wise. Her shield was slowly lowering and rattling at the edges, as if about to disband. She grit her teeth and tried to keep it together, paranoid enough to expect a second spray of gunshots from the woods.

The Litmus incident - Page 11 Empty Re: The Litmus incident

Post by redeagle321 12/1/2010, 3:02 pm

[Forgive me terribly- the posts I make are often longer then my attention span *3*;;; ]

Onomatopoeia squinted behind his vortex- patterned mask at the talkative Batman on the hood of the stolen car. Oy, he hated lsitening to NORMAL people talk, never mind being preached at by a Batman. The assasin quickly adjusted the aim of his gun, but not at Batman. No, he shot at a nearby Tractor trailer. As the driver quikly ducked to avoid having his head taken off by one of the bullets, the truck swerved right into the Cars path. Ono didn't hesitate a second- once more hoisting Alice roughly by her binds, he quickly bailed from the car with his catch as the truck hammered the helpless car all over the road, other cars soon folowing suit and just creating a royall mess all over the road.

Ono didn't bother to look at his handiwork, thoug- with all atention to the ever growing crash, nobody would be paying attention to the monochromatic man and his prize. Not even bothering to see what batman's fate was, Ono ducked into the Alleys of the city to evade any pursuers....

Nightwing knew she had to still go after Onomatopoeia and help save Alice, but at the same time she didn't want to just leave her little Uncle to his own devices. Luckily for her, nearly ten years of being sidekick to DawnBat had clued her in on several things, including the communications frequencies used by the Bats, so Chey had little dificulty in procuring a small comm from her gauntlets and patching it into a Batman Inc. frequency. "Oy, Nightwing Here. I've got Bruce Grayson here, anybody nearby to come pick him up?" She asked....

Cassius gave off a disgruntled sigh. Untill suddenly he had an idea. "Wait....." He trudged over to the downed vehicle, remembering something from a while back. The president Before his Daughter, president Morgan Edwards, had purchased the design specs for a metalshifting program from Lexcorp, which had the dubious distinction of giving John Corben, Aka Metallo, his ability to alter his metalic body into whatever form he demanded.

Due to how complex the program was to use and replicate, it saw very little use after it's purchase, albeit it was utilized in the construction of government devices not meant to be seen.

Such as, oh, transports for example.

And didn't it seem odd that the president would only provide a peice of crap to her feild agents tasked with a mission as important as this? As Cassius found a suprisingly sophisticated control panel concealed beneath the dashboard, he reminded himself to kick Sarah's ass when they got home. Ever the joker. As he punched several buttons, he supposed he could see some fo the reason- with half her staff on somebody else's payroll, a lot of heads would turn if a high tech vehicle was seen pealing out of DC. But nobody would really care if it was two bit garbage.

Sure enough, a friendly -bleep- from the console confirmed Cassius's suspicion, and he stepped out fo the vehicle as the metal of the exterior rippled and churned, slowly giving the formerly rusted peice of crap vehicle the appearance of a far more modern and sleek transport. He tested the engine and turned on the cehicle- worke dlieka charm. "I'm kicking my daughter's ass for not telling me this...." he said. The tires had remained popped, but big whippity, they had spares. His eves never elft the woods, in case their buddy came back for more.......... [Okay okay, so it seems kind of like a deus-ex-machina type deal, but I really did plan for this one to do that all along, honest truth! I just, erm, forgot...... untill just now......]

Menawhile, with Domino's team, the trouble was just begining.

Having all of the trafic on the road stop dead for no reason? Bad. Having all of your gear go down with it? That was bad also. Now, hearing the 'bleep...... bleep..... bleep.....' of a bomb under the bridge you were standing on? That just sucked....

Batman quickly jumped off the stolen convertible and began to pursue Onomatopoeia, as soon ad yet another--more strongly built--Batman, jumped into the scene and prevented two cars from crashing head on, another flew in and caught a car in midair. Batman turned around to see the rest of his teammates cleaning up after him and ran after the kidnapper down the alley. "I swear, we're turning more and more into Superman each day." he muttered as he turned a corner to catch up with the assassin.

By the time Nightwing was asking for someone to pick up Bruce, Commissioner of Police Barbara Grayson was already on it. She had a feed that connected to every major crime fighting unit in the state in one office. "I already have a team picking up my son, thank you for your concern Nightwing." She explained, patching into Oracle's feed she called her in, any news on this vector masked kidnapper?" Barbara asked. "He goes by the name Onomatopoeia, he's a metahuman that targets superheroes with no super powers. A hired gun, he's supposed to be good. Really good. Dawn Bat, I see you with satellite. Keep on your toes. Terry, you too." Oracle said from her computer desk, a beer in her hand. Way too early for that. She didn't care.

Oracle connected over to Metropolis. Just to keep in touch. "Hey, anything new on the west side?" she asked. Another voice that belonged to the Oracle of Metropolis replied back, "Alls quiet here. See youre having some trouble in downtown Gotham. Mind if I transfer a Batman or two your way? With the Man of Steel here, it's hard for my boys to get any action." he replied. "Not a problem. Gotham out." Oracle said closing Metropolis' window. She sat looking at a profile of Onomatopoeia. There had to be more info on him.

After talking with Merc, imma' take us off pause now. These were the changes made;

-There are no bats in Metropolis- with Sooperman, and soon the titans, out there, it didn't seem nesecary.
-Chey is a member of Batman Inc., operating as Terry's partner.
-Batman inc. is in a somewhat younger stage of development.

That's it, mainly. Also, on the topic of Onomatopoeia, although he isn't a PROPER metahuman, he has been genetically enhanced to survive with intense injury, among othher things.

I'll make a nice fat post after my test today, just wanted to share that.

Onomatopoeia took a step back, clutching Alice in front of him like a human shield. Great, ANOTHER bat, and probably still more well on the way. He kinda' wished it was just the original Batman- one man that would challenge him, not a multi-million dollar ARMY. Really, why President Roper just didn't replace the army with Batmen was beyond him.

But that was neither here nor there- not getting his ass whuped was. Ono wasn't the type for long winded taunts. Obviously. He had to get away from the bats, or he'd be hauled off for sure.

Well, Dawnbat did say to put Alice DOWN.

He pulled out a small, weak grenade and blasted a hole in the ground. “Boom.” leaping down it with his red- head hostage, he flopped onto the level of road below it, and once more was on the run....

But he was being watched by two watchful individuals. One was a daunting figure, tall and in a swirling black cloak, his face concealed behind an angular mask, piercing eyes gazing out at him from the shadows. His accomplice was different. She wore a heavy duty suit of combat armor, topped off with a full facial mask and a serious looking Katana. The two had been operating as a pair for nearly 15 years by now- Ironmask and the Phantasm

Or, more appropriately, Rose Wilson

And Bruce Wayne.

Nightwing stood next to Bruce, not wanting to leave the boy until whoever the commissioner was sending got there. She looked at her juvenile uncle. “Hey, it’ll be ok little man, don’t worry.” She said, keeping a comforting arm around the boy as she kept her eyes open….

Cassius shoot his head. "I'm gonna' beat that daughter of mine first chance we get." He said jokingly. He understood giving them one of those shifting cars, but she didn't have to make it look like crap. His attention was equally on the map- an unexpected piece of evidence. Someone had obviously gone to great lengths to get this to them. And maybe, just maybe, someone left fingerprints as well. But for now, they were less then half an hour from their destination, so that took priority.

The sniper that had shot at them was still residing in the woods, keeping an eye on the group. "They didn't get the hint." He muttered into his headset. He was clad in black, concealing body armor, his face obscured behind a sniper mask. "Then follow then- make sure they don't find out anything." Said the seething voice of his boss, Falcon. The black sniper didn't even acknowledge as he continued to watch the group of elites get on their transforming vehicle.

"Gah sh*t! Move, dammit move!" Jenga barked to his team as he tried to shoo everyone away from the source of the beeping, no doubt originating from under the bridge. If there was one thing he recognized from the war, it was the sound of a bomb counting down. Normally, he could use his sensors, locate the thing, utilize his EMP gun, and that would be that. But without his weapons or equipment, it would be a bit more……… difficult. He knew the man of steel was in this city, but if he didn’t know yet, there’s the chance he may not show up until the bridge was blasted to smithereens. And without their equipment, how would they pull this off? With no clue how long of a fuse might be on the bomb, he wasn’t sure how to go about this….

Taking the nearest seat in the Vehicle, Jack sat down with a 'thud', took off his helmet and wiped his forehead. "What was that about?" Jack mumbled. "How could they have known we were driving by here?" He said as the rest of the S.H.A.R.P agents began to pile into the new transport.

[Corv, could I get some more details on that one? I'd like a few more sentences if all possible]

Alice, in the clutches of a psychotic, wasn't just going to sit there. Oh no, she's the daughter of Batman, she's tough as a cookie.. Or one tough cookie. Who cares? Point was, she wasn't about to be this damsel in distress. She was looking for the right opportunity, and now was the time. She gained momentum and successfully shot her head into the kidnapper's stomach. He dropped her like she had planned, unfortunately, Alice wasn't good at planning ahead, she was still hogtied to the point where she could only squirm on the ground like a fish out of water.

"Aye mate! What's up your arse?!" Reaper demanded pushing Jenga away, "At times like this I wish you had stayed back at Gotham." He muttered.

Batman looked down the hole Ono punched into the ground. "Impressive, if he used his foot. Oracle, how's our back up coming? Do you have a lock on our assailant's location?" He asked through his headset.

Bruce was secured and went back home, police setting up an Overwatch to ensure he doesn't get kidnapped twice in the same day. Dick decided he was going to get a dog this day.

(Wow I almost forgot about this RP...)

"Oh goddammit!" Dommino ran back to the vehicle, picked up her own things and snatched up the sniper. Making sure that the rest of her team was at least out of the vehicle, she slung her gear over her shoulder and yelled. "Move it or lose it, we have to get the hell off this bridge, NOW!" she put her helmet back on. "Jenga, you got a location of the beeping yet?" she called out to him.
