Re: Next Gen
Alright I have a few pressing questions after reading the entire thread.
First off before the rp begins will there be information put up about the whole thing, the information available is awesome so far but a little bit more wouldn't hurt. It's nice to be informed so that accurate posts are possible ( even if the character is not privvy to some of the information we are)
Also I have questions about the Batman Beyond villains. I am aware that NG takes place 16 (?) years in the future, but 16 years from when? Blight and all the others are WAY into the future....Well maybe 50-60 years, So wouldn't Blight not Exist yet? And Willie Watts is just a high school student, wouldn't he not be born yet? I am just a litle confused....
Also maybe you should make an update Red about ALL the current villains and who will be harrasing who ( I noticed your list earlier in the thread) Because I personally would like to know about all the big bads the Titans will be facing, as well as knowing a little bit about this Yellow Lantern you have cobbled together for me.
Sorry if some of my questions seem vague but I fel so woefully uninformed. Still excited as hell for this whole thing!

So am I still set up to be Darkseid in this RP?
I have a character sheet. I even made the second Darkseid video myself.

General-
New God Physiology: The beings of Apokolips call themselves Gods and live outside of normal time and space in a realm called the Fourth World. These New Gods have evolved due to their close proximity to the Source, a primeval energy, believed to be one of the ultimate foundations of the Universal Expression of Energy, along with their superior technology, into beings of genetic stability and evolutionary perfection. The denizens of Apokolips are immortal, stronger, faster, and smarter than homo sapiens, despite their resemblance to the same.- Superhuman Strength: Darkseid has shown colossal strength that has even brought Superman himself down to his knees, though it should be noted that the Man of Steel has bested the God in some of their battles. His godlike strength allows him to break even the strongest of metals, and even the hardest of metals, once breaking a Green Lantern Ring with his bare hand. It is generally accepted that Darkseid is sufficiently strong to lift 100 tons with minimal effort.
- Invulnerability: Darkseid possesses a god like level of invulnerability. He is completely impervious to most forms of energy attacks as well as physical blows. He however can be knocked around by beings with colossal strength and power. He is not completely invulnerable, however; massively powerful beings are able to hurt him. Superman once beat him into unconsciousness before burying him in the Source Wall, and Doomsday easily bested him in physical combat, going so far as to pierce his skin with his bony armor. Additionally, during the events of Countdown to Final Crisis, Darkseid was killed by his son Orion when the latter punched clean into Darkseid's chest and physically removed his heart from his body.
- Immortality: As a New God, Darkseid is all immortal, unable to die of old age, or any other causes. Note that this does not mean that his body is indestructible, simply that should he be killed, he will inevitably revive.
- Superhuman Speed Darkseid can run faster than the finest Athlete; however, Darkseid's speed is not comparable to Speedsters such as Superman or the Flash.
- Superhuman Stamina: Unable to tire, Darkseid has a level of stamina that is sure to never run out. He can survive in a never ending battle for days if need be.
Mental abilities
Telepathy: Darkseid is capable of forming telepathic links with seemingly any being in the universe.
Mind Control: Ability to control the minds of others by sheer force of will. His ability to use this power is so great that he can dominate millions of beings all at once.
Telekinesis: Darkseid is able to use psychokinetic attacks or attack the mind by simple thought. With this ability he is able to lift objects at will, as well as use them as projectile weapons or barriers. The limits to this power are unknown.
Matter Transmutation: Darkseid is able to simply transmute matter by force of will.
Avatar Creation: A simple thought allows Darkseid to create liable avatars if/when the need arises.
Psionic Possession: Psychic abilities to possess an individual and negate any superhuman abilities they may have.
Energy Manipulation: Darkseid can also mentally control most known forms of energy, allowing him to erect protective force fields and project withering energy bolts.
Teleportation: Darkseid is able to teleport himself or any other being simply just by thought or sheer willpower.
Size manipulation: Darkseid has the ability to alter his body to grow to gigantic sizeMetaphysical abilitiesOmega Effect: A great power that Darkseid has claimed for himself. He focuses this power as a form of energy that he fires from his eyes. This effect is not only a relentless attack, but it is capable of teleporting the target to any location Darkseid chooses and recall them later or erase the target from the universe and similarly reform them.
Darkseid has pinpoint control over his Omega Beams, and his unerring aim allows it to travel in straight lines or bend, twist or curve around corners. The Effect can travel across time and pass through different universes, and can pass through nearly any known barrier.
He has claimed that no being had yet withstood the full force of the Omega Beam, but Doomsday and Superman nonetheless survived the attack.- Matter Transmutation: Darkseid is able to simply transmute matter by force of will.
- Molecular Dispersion: He is also able to dissipate and disperse the molecules of an object or organism, effectively erasing them from existence.
- De-evolution: As a New God, Darkseid has the omnipotent ability to devolve organisms, or completely revert the evolutionary pattern of an organism.
Weapons & Possessions
Parademons Parademons are the personal shock troops of Darkseid of Apokolips. They are genetically created in Apokolips' laboratories and serve as his loyal army. Some Parademons are bred from human stock, culled from the lowly Hunger Dogs that reside in the Armagetto district of Apokolips. Ironically, the Parademons are primarily used to quell Hunger Dog uprisings. When Apokolips decides to mount an inter-planetary invasion (usually Earth), he sends in waves of Parademons as the advance force.
Father Box Mother Boxes are 'living computers' typically found on New Genesis. The term 'living computer' should be understood as an approximation; they seem to be part living being, part highly developed machine. They look like small boxes, about the size of a house brick at largest.
Apokolips, the dark twin of New Genesis has been seen to possess the ability to create and use Father Boxes, which are presumed to possess the same abilities as Mother Boxes, but have been shown to influence their users toward serving Darkseid.- Life Sense
- Omniscience: Mother Box has control of all Detection Powers, and Mental Powers regarding insight.
- Omni-knowledge: Mother Box has amazing access to know just about anything needed at the time.
- Energy Transference: Mother Box can automatically transfer her energy to her user. In addition, through his affection for Mother Box, the user can transfer energy back to her. Only one such attempt is allowed per day.
Source Conduit: Mother Boxes have been seen to access the energy of the Source for various effects such as:
- Gravity Manipulation: Change the gravitational constant of an area,
- Energy Transfer: Transfer energy from one place to another,
- Emotion Control: Control the mental state of a host
- Telepathy: Communicate telepathically with a host or other life form,
- Regenerate Others: Manipulate the life-force of a host to sustain it past fatal injuries,
- Boom-Tubes: ability to open or close boom-tubes. Any character that possesses both a Mother Box can automatically create a Boom Tube capable of transporting him between dimensions and galaxies. Boom Tubes have the Warp power at Class 5000, Dimension Travel, and remain open approximately eight seconds.
- Machine Animation/Control: Take over and control non-sentient machines, including the ability to evolve non-sentient machines.
- Life Support: Sustain a life form in a hostile environment such as space, and many others.
FatherBox abilitiesFatherBox wrote:“Ting!”
It should be noted that Mother Boxes could only be manufactured by a being born either on New Genesis or Apokolips, and not even all could do it at least one on Apokolips failed, and that this was accomplished through much training.
Apokolips is an ecumenopolis(city which spans the entire world) with burning firepits, existing in between dimensions, occupying a 'frequency' somewhere between the physical universe and Hell; the war that destroyed the Old Gods and created New Genesis and Apokolips separated the Fourth World from the rest of the universe proper, leaving it accessible by Boom Tube.
The population is a downtrodden lot, including many kidnapped from other worlds before being 'broken.' The majority of the population is called "Lowlies", a bald and fearful race that has no sense of self worth or value. The Lowlies are subject to constant abuse that ends only with death. Slightly above them are the Parademons, who serve as the keepers of order on the planet. Higher above the Parademons are the Female Furies, who are Darkseid's personal guard. (Male Furies also exist, but are less common.) They are blessed with unnatural strength and longevity and are allowed to develop as individuals. This exposure to new concepts often results in them developing comical or garish personalities that contrast strongly with the immense sadism that is required to reach their position. The leaders of the Furies are Granny Goodness, who sports the appearance of a matronly old woman while being the most powerful of the guards, and Kanto, who enjoys a unique position as Darkseid's master assassin. The chief guard, Big Barda, had a third position under Granny, which has not been filled since her defection from the group.
Apokolips is second to New Genesis in technological advancement. With their technology, they are the height of power in most of the universe and are able to devastate galaxies when they choose to use it. Apokoliptian technology is furthermore the source of unparalleled misery in the universe as the planet routinely arms evil groups with advanced technology in order to further its influence (and misery) across the universe.
Apokolips is ruled by Darkseid as its theocratic god-despot, but he defers most of the actual day to day ruling to his counselor Desaad. Darkseid has no real contenders for the throne of Apokolips except the demon Mantis, although his sons Orion, Grayven, and Kalibak are also potential contenders. Darkseid is cursed by Grayven and Kalibak's stupidity and Orion's service of good. It is prophesied that Orion will overthrow Darkseid. In Kingdom Come it is revealed that Darkseid's overthrow will not result in major changes on Apokolips, as Apokolips' evil comes from itself rather than its master. This assertion, however, is debatable since it is not strict continuity, and it is often said that Darkseid powers Apokolips with his ambient forces, which is where the fire pits come from, so in theory the Death of Darkseid would mean the death of Apokolips.
Female Furies
The Female Furies are an all female military unit lead by Granny Goodness which serves as both an elite strike force and honor guard for Darkseid, Lord of Apokolips. Raised in Granny Goodness' orphanage, the Furies were taught military tactics under Goodness and assassination under Kanto. Goodness instilled fanatical loyalty in the Furies, teaching them to be loyal to her first, but for their foremost loyalty to be for Darkseid, making them willing to "Die for Darkseid".Granny Goodness wrote:You were bred to be the finest warriors on Apokolips. The elite guard who stand ready to serve the almighty Darkseid!
Intergang
Intergang was the criminal answer to Interpol, that is, a global network of interconnected criminal organizations each acting autonomously but sharing information and resources. A criminal known as Ugly Mannheim worked his way up through the ranks to form the organization with Apokoliptian help. Mannheim through contact with Desaad & Darkseid provided those who joined the organization with advanced technology.
More recently Bruno Mannheim has taken the head of Intergang, and has turned the organization into more of a cult than a business, up to the point of using the ‘Crime Bible’ as a religious text. The gang continues to use Apokoliptain Technology, and it is believed that the new founded Church of Crime indirectly and unknowingly worships & serves Darkseid.Weaknesses
Radion: Darkseid and all of the New Gods are vulnerable to a substance called Radion. It source is unknown and its effects are toxic only in sustained amounts or after explosive exposure. The average New God can be slain by an application of Radion from a Radion blaster or bomb. More advanced beings such as Darkseid, protected by their power, armor and sheer toughness, have been known to take two hits and survive.
Obsessive Personality: His obsession with finding the Anti-Life Equation, obsession to get even with people who have gotten the better of him. Meta-humans or other beings of colossal strength are able to hold their own in a fight against him.
Willpower Concentration: Darkseid requires an immense amount of willpower to perform a majority of his powers and abilities, should his willpower be disrupted in anyway, he is unable to completely focus on his own abilities and powers. - Superhuman Strength: Darkseid has shown colossal strength that has even brought Superman himself down to his knees, though it should be noted that the Man of Steel has bested the God in some of their battles. His godlike strength allows him to break even the strongest of metals, and even the hardest of metals, once breaking a Green Lantern Ring with his bare hand. The denizens of Apokolips are immortal, stronger, faster, and smarter than homo sapiens, despite their resemblance to the same.- Immortality: The New Gods, are functionally immortal, having ceased aging physically near the age of 30. Unless they fall in battle, they are immune to the ravages of time, and could easily live for thousands upon thousands of years.
- Invulnerability: They are resistant to blunt trauma like punches, kicks, and blows from weapons like bats and maces, though not -completely- immune; unless the blows a dealt by a being with similar or greater strength, there just isn't a chance of injury. However, this invulnerability does not extend to bullets, laser-blasts, or other piercing/slicing weapons - their invulnerability is more akin to that of an Amazon, rather than a Kryptonian.
- Superhuman Strength: As a New God is naturally greater than that of a human man or woman of their (approximate) build and stature who engages in regular intensive exercise, their exposure to the Generation Matrix enhanced that twenty-fold. Their strength can me measured in the hundreds of thousands of tons.
Mental abilities
Sadism:Granny Goodness is a clinical sociopath, she feels no remorse at harming others, and actually sees it as an expression of her love. She believes that in harming the people she 'cares' for she is better preparing them to engage with the cruel and vile world that they will live in, and in a sense she is correct. Her 'children' known as the Female Furies operate as the elite guard on their planet Apokolips, they are the ultimate force for their god Darkseid, and serve both as his honor guard and advanced strike teams.
Metaphysical abilities

Weapons/Techniques-
Beta Club- A power Apokoliptian weapon, this tremendously heavy club is capable of a variety of offensive attacks including electrocuting targets jabbed with the forward end, firing concentrated blasts of super-dense energy from the forward end, sprouting small rockets from either end to boost the owner forward, and firing a variety of nets, both electrified or magnetic, from the forward end.

More advanced beings such as Darkseid, protected by their power, armor and sheer toughness, have been known to take two hits and survive.

While such beings as Superman are clearly superior to Lashina in terms of strength, she and the other furies run a close second.
- Superhuman Durability: Like all New Gods, Lashina is significantly more durable than mere mortals. She is able to be thrown through walls, struck with cars or high power weapons, or engage in hand to hand combat with super-powerful beings while holding her own.
- Superhuman Speed: While far from equal to Speedsters such as the Flash, all New Gods possess a level of Speed several notches above average humans.
Mental abilities
Sadomasochism: Lashina was born and grew up on the hell planet Apokolips, and through her childhood there, and the tutelage of Granny Goodness, she has learned to equate pain and combat with love and affection. She like all Female Furies views violence as the truest way to show affection and enjoys dealing it almost as much as she enjoys suffering it.
Metaphysical abilities
None
Weapons/Techniques-
Electric Ribbons- Lashina’s weapon of choice is a pair of metallic ribbons controlled first by her actions, and foremost by her mind. These Apokoliptian weapons are able to extend, contract, and electrify themselves all on command from Lashina’s mind.

While such beings as Superman are clearly superior to Lashina in terms of strength, she and the other furies run a close second.
And some plans. With more to come if I ever get finished with setting the Dice Game rules up.
- Spoiler:
- Plan Alpha: Procure the Anti-Life Equation though the gathering the fragments naturally occurring in the minds of sentient life forms, and then use the Anti-Life Equation to subjugate all sentient life in the universe binding them to his will and completely overwriting their own, thus ending all conflict in the entirety of existence forever.
Plan Beta: Obtain the power of The Source, and through it completely rewrite the laws of reality remaking the entirety of creation in his own image and in doing so end all conflict everywhere forever.
Motivation: Darkseid was born of conflict, even in his infancy the world he existed in was one of strife and war. His father was known as the most powerful of the New Gods Yuga Khan, and through tampering with the powers of The Source he was stripped of his powers and imprisoned within the Source Wall. Darkseid then assumed his father’s throne, though even then he was not freed of strife, his mother attempted to manipulate his every action, even going so far as to have his one real love assassinated. In retaliation, Darkseid had his own mother murdered by the same assassin.
Since Darkseid has seen little but conflict in the world, on his own planet Apokolips he gives those who would not interfere with his actions, near unlimited freedom, and bound to no true rule beyond that of the strongest arm, the people prey upon one another with brutal savagery. Darkseid has since decided that the source of conflict, is not evil, but the division of will. So long as there are two men, one will try to rule the other.
In this Darkseid has long endeavored to find a remedy for this seemingly preordained cycle of rule and loss. When he first encountered the Green Martians, they spoke of a ‘Life-Equation’ a mathematical equation which represented the sentient will in all its parts. Darkseid then proposed that there must also be an ‘Anti-Life Equation’ a mathematical equation which negated the sentient will in all its parts.
Standing Effect 1: Glorious Gordon Godfrey, through his role as a conservative talk show host inflames the anti-metahuman base to near violent levels, while at the same time his Apokoliptian sister Amazing Grace takes upon the role of pro-metahuman spokesperson. The two televise their debates across the nation, specifically scripting them to inflame their respective bases to near-riot conditions.
Standing Effect 2: The criminal answer to Interpol was known as Intergang, a global network of interconnected criminal organizations each acting autonomously but sharing information and resources. Part of those resources, and part of the reason Intergang has been so successful in the face of organizations like the Justice League and the Society of Supervillains, is that the leader of Intergang, Bruno Manhiem, has Apokoliptian connections, and through them outfits the whole of Intergang with Apokoliptian technology.
Standing Effect 3: The Religion of Crime, headed by the cannibalistic Bruno Manhiem, worships an unnamed ‘dark deity’ and the ‘Crime Bible’ broken into four separate pieces, offers a manuscript for how to run a successful criminal enterprise. Many members of Intergang have converted to the Religion and it operates as a shadow organization even within the borders of the criminal underworld itself.
Standing Effect 4: Metabrawl, an underground no rules wrestling match, is one of Intergang’s most profitable endeavors. At Metabrawl, meta humans either volunteer or are forced to fight against one another until one of them doesn’t get back up. Over the years Metabrawl has changed locations frequently, been shut down several times, and reformed even more. Ultimately the New Metabrawl answers to Intergang’s Bruno Maniem, and through him serves Darkseid’s endeavors, but the day to day of the matches is decided and handled by the woman Roulette, who has no knowledge of her otherworldly benefactors.
Standing Effect 5: While Amazing Grace publically defends meta humans in all their facets, she also runs a meta human smuggling operation, for people wanted by the police or under threat from rogue anti-meta human groups. Directing such refugees to Granny Goodness, the more, direct head of the railroad operation, Granny keeps the youngest refugees Earth-side, raising them as her ‘children’ and teaching them to do wrong, while shipping the more powerful or order meta humans through Boom Tubes to Apokolips, promising them a land where they can be themselves, while actually enslaving them either as workers or warriors.
Note: Some of the ‘warrior’ meta humans might return to Earth as NPC under Darkseid’s sway, causing anarchy disruption, and generally reinforcing Godfrey’s anti-meta human agenda. The idea being that they would be criminals who serve Darkseid’s agenda without being able to be traced back to Darkseid. All those sent back to Earth would be thoroughly reprogrammed by Granny Goodness, willing to die for Darkseid before betraying his plans. I don’t intend on playing any, but if a little random destruction is needed…
Plan A: Raise an earth-born telepath from the dead, or similar inert state, and in doing so infuse them with the ability to act as a telepathic sweeper, manipulating them to scavenge through the minds of the multitude for shards of the Anti-Life Equation, through great discomfort of the telepath.
Note: Whomever is raised from the dead will periodically be possessed by Darkseid’s will and be forced to invade the minds of all present sentient creatures, this may or may not adversely affect the health of the character, but it certainly should not be fun. The frequency of these fits may be mitigated by avoiding large groups of people, and there is no point in searching the same mind twice.
Note: Darkseid’s powers are more than sufficient to improve a character’s mental or physical abilities.
Note: Dead or otherwise inert characters are allowed to carry repressed memories involving Darkseid or Apokolips and their resurrection. Unlikely to be pleasant.
Requirements of Plan A Victim: Telepathic powers, untapped matured or otherwise, deceased or similar inert state, preferable through no relation to Darkseid, and a willingness to give their character random seizers/fits during which they forcibly invade the minds of all present characters/npcs.
Plan B: Speak to one of the heroes in a subservient role, non-leader position, and express his unique philosophy on life, including a hallucinatory presentation of life on Apokolips and life on Earth illustrating the inescapable fact that freedom breeds conflict and the inborn nature of life to desire a ruling/guiding force, either to recruit the hero to his cause, or simply sow dissention within the ranks of Darkseid’s enemies.
Note: ‘hallucinatory presentation’ simply means that Darkseid will show the character something without actually taking them there. Think out of body, not LCD.
Requirements of Plan B Victim: A personality type favoring freedom over order. Direct contact with Darkseid or Granny. Non-leadership Position on the Hero’s team.
Plan C: Have Amazing Grace arrested for something inflammatory, aiding in a meta human escape, or harboring one from the police and use her arrest the flash point for pro-meta human anti-meta human riots, including Glorious Godfrey supporting an outrageous punishment for Grace, and convincing or hiring Heroes/criminals to rescue/murder Grace while in custody.
Requirements of Plan C Victim: Hero: Previous interaction with Grace and a pro-meta human stance. Villain: No previous interaction with Godfrey, and either an anti-meta human stance, or a willingness to work for an anti-meta human organization.
Plan D: Abduct a female Player character to Apokolips, train them as a Female Fury and indoctrinate them to serve Darkseid, before sending them back to Earth to serve his agenda as well as simply soften the Earth for his coming invasion/search for the Equation.
Requirements of Plan D Victim(s): Female, connection to either Amazing Grace or Granny Goodness, willingness to spend some time away from game while their character is ‘indoctrinate’ before returning.

Re: Next Gen
It's all fair questions, bluddeh.
In response to your first question, I feel the synopsis is in order:
In general, it takes place four years after the third world war. in it's wake, there is a lot of anti- metahuman prejudice being passed around, and at the core of it all the cryptic syndicate known as phoenix. in an effort to curb this, Tim Drake thought that bringing back a group of hsitorically respected heroes that were human and superhuman alike might boost their reputation. Thus, he initiated project Titans with Neil Richard, formerly the Mad Mod.
The main plot is to unfurl Phoenix's dastardly plans and stop them. A starting point is the bay family, since Robert was kidnapped and the rest of the family attacked by an assasin called Falcon
In respose to your second question, the one about Batman Beyond, the RP takes place 16 years after Darkest of Nice, which itself is a significant amout of time in the future, so it does, in fact, happen alongside Batman Beyond. Thus, you can expect to see the Likes of Derek Powers and Company.
And as for your villains List, here they are + a brief description. These are ONLY villains that were made by me:
X-Hale: jaded ex- Lexcorp employee. Uses a vacume suit to attack.
Metallo 2: Just like Corben, need i say more?
Bass: uses sonic weapons to pull heists. Inherits a suit similar to that of shreik.
Falcon: A top grade assasin, works for Phoenix. Seeks to surpass Slade. Attacks the Bay family prior to the start of the RP
The March Hare: Not a serious villain- she's an amnesiac that pulls pranks to draw attention to herself in hopes that someone that knows her will recognize her. However, they usually fail spectacularly.
Booster: A low level incomptent that uses a jetpack. pretty harmless no matter how much he tries.
Rotweiler: Employs superstrength to run an underground fighting coloseum.
The terminators: A squad of assains run by Phoenix. They're mainly sent to shut people up that find out too much.
Noctourne: The head of phoenix and the primary antagonist of NG. He specializes in changing his appearance to whomever suits his fancy. This makes tracking him next to impossible.
Ray: Sinestro corps agent. He's seeing if Phoenix's plan is worht the corp's time. Unlike the others, it seems like it's an effort for him to stay awake- life seems to bore him. [This is Sully's deignated villain, I'll PM more info on him]
Cannon villains. Didn't include descriptions for them:
Batman Beyond
-Derek Powers
-Willie Watts
[Inque is controlled By mercy and I think Spellbinder is Robin's.]
Superman:
Lex Luthor [The Apok. Villains (Darkseid, ect. are TDG's]
Other:
-Onomatopoeia
I didn't list a lot of OC supervillains other then mine becuase, frankly, i'm not 100% sure who all there's going to be. I also didn't list the new Twoface and Riddler because they aren't ENTIRELEY Villains.

I also didn't list the new Twoface and Riddler because they aren't ENTIRELEY Villains.

need a break x_x
I've been toiling over this RP for a long while, so it was only inevitable that I just burn out. I'm taking a pause in the development process for a few days, and won't be making any alterations to the plot or additions/subtractions for a bit.
Re: Next Gen
Well this is the most anticipated Roleplay that has ever met this side of the forums. I'm actually wondering if there's another group of people anticipating a Roleplay more than us. Anyway, you deserve a break.

Re: Next Gen
Ya'know if Red's too busy, or if he'd like some help, I came up with a few ideas for the Next Gen game just pitching stuff around with Bloody. I was going to try and hand most of it over to Red since he's been having such a difficult time getting stuff put up, not entirely his fault I'm sure, but if he's too busy, or if people would like, I'd be willing to sacrifice my characters to play GM for the Next Gen game...
For those who are interested here's what I have thus far. I tried to stick to as much of Red's original idea as I could since my original intention was to just hand this stuff over to him to use as he saw fit, but the fact of the matter is I haven't been able to get in contact with him even as much as some of the others, we seem to keep different hours of the day, plus with him working and me going to school... anyway.
First Arc: The Jericho Initiative
Heroes' goal: Prevent the Jericho Initiative from passing, legalizing the drafting of young Meta-humans.
Main Villain: President Wilson
Supporting Villains: The M.I.B. & Unaligned Meta-Criminals who's actions will be referenced in support of the bill.
Second Arc: It's the End of the World Doctor Death!
Third Arc: Search for the Assassin

General Premise wrote:
Five years ago the infamous meta-human known only as Black Adam raged across half of the world. Within the first day of his rampage he had become the single more prolific serial killer ever known to man, within the first week, he was the most feared man in all of human history, and within the month he had become single handedly responsible for the collapse of entire countries.
As Adam raged across the world, the nations of it were forced to set their differences aside, and unite against him. Heroes, villains, citizens and soldiers of every race, creed, color and country stood as one as they fell against the tyrant Adam. Thousands died, millions were crippled, and it wasn’t until the greatest champion of law and justice the world has ever, or would ever know, died that Adam was defeated.
Superman, the last son of Krypton, in cooperation with then President of the United States of America Mr. Alexander Joseph Luthor finally brought the raging meta-human to an end, at the cost of his own life. For one month following the Kryptonian’s death, there was not a single reported crime, anywhere in the world.
But things have a way of falling back into place. Black Adam’s rage has colored much of the world against meta-humans as a whole, while Superman’s death has others calling them gods. The nations of the world are still recovering from what has become known as Adam’s War. Luthor is no longer president, though he has sworn, in commemoration of the death of the Man of Steel, to honor his memory and has founded the Everyman Institute, a place where young meta-humans can go to learn to control their unique abilities, and be trained to use them for good. In addition Luthor funds the Young Titans, a splinter group of the Everyman Institute consisting of humans and meta’s alike, dedicated to upholding the ideals that Superman died for.
Slade Joseph Wilson, a decorated war veteran, returned from retirement to serve in Adam’s War as a general. He became known for “leading by example” standing on the front lines alongside his men even against the thickest hailstorm of Adam’s lightning. He saved countless lives, civilian and soldier alike, through quick thinking, adaptive strategies, and personal action.
When he returned home, he personally was awarded the Medal of Honor by President Luthor, and when Luthor’s term came up. Mr. Wilson was encouraged to run for his seat.
A decorated war hero, who’s biggest (known) crime, was lying about his age to serve in the US Military before he was eighteen, running for president following one of the single bloodiest years in human history. The election wasn’t even close. Slade ran on the platform of ‘leading by example’ promising under his leadership the United State would lead the world in recovering from the rampage and bloodshed of Adam’s War.
Under President Wilson there have been major reforms to Meta-human policy, some more drastic than others. Some of the more notorious are the Keene act, and Ingersoll Amendment, which together allow individual states and the federal government nearly undefined freedom in dealing with criminal meta-humans. Some of his less public reforms however, include the foundation of the Meta-human Investigation Bureau, a subsection of the Federal Investigation Bureau dedicated exclusively to the investigation of Meta-human and mask-wearing individuals, the M.I.B. employs Meta-human and regular humans alike, each member being assigned to a team, and every two teams receiving a supervisor who is required to authorize their actions with the Bureau.
Entering the final year of his final term, President Wilson has been pushing more dramatic reform; the “Jericho Initiative” a bill the President has been gunning for would require all Meta-human individuals to spend a minimum of five years as part of the military beginning at age fifteen. The bill has been met with mixed apprehension and support, some members of Congress feeling that compelling Meta-humans to take part in the military is as unethical as the draft, others uncomfortable with the idea of drafting Metas at such a young age, while some believe it is the perfect solution to what is commonly referred to as a growing problem, the military being seen as the perfect place for young Meta-humans to develop not only their powers, but a strong sense of justice and discipline.
Former President Luthor has not given the bill his support.
Important Events (In chronological order) wrote:
The Assassination of Isis
Isis was Black Adam's wife, and he loved her very dearly. Together the two ruled over their country, and though they were dictators, they were loved. Isis used her powers to bring prosperity to the otherwise bleak and dreary land of Kahndaq. Originally given to Adam as a gift, the woman Adrianna Tomaz was largely responsible for calming Black Adam's temperament and showing him how to rule with equal parts mercy and justice. So moved by her words was he that Adam returned to the grave of his long dead family to retrieve from his former-wife's sarcophagus The Amulet of Isis, an object of intense power which he gave to Adrianna as a wedding present, granting her powers similar to his own, as well as the ability to manipulate the weather, and bring their land prosperity.
That prosperity however would soon turn. Kahndaq developed many enemies out of jealously and even more out of Adam's single minded approach to dealing with criminals, they were a country founded solely on the powers of their rulers, and though the people of Kahndaq worshiped Isis and Adam as gods, many people believed them to be false idols.
One night, while Adam was away 'dealing' with some slave traders who had been sighted on his boarder, Isis was assassinated. The culprit was believed to be a spy from nearby Kaznia, however suspicions fell across all countries whom had long looked jealously upon the favors Adam and Isis granted their people, including Malkovia and China.
Adam, lost in blind fury struck out against Kahndaq's enemies, massacring their people, reducing their towns to rubble and publicly murdering their leaders, whom he held responsible for the death of his Isis.
Adam's War
The blind rampage Black Adam raged against the enemies of Kahndaq soon spilled into the rest of the world. The countries he visited his devastation upon cried out for vengeance while the international community looked upon Black Adam with fear and disgust. Adam had long refused to involve Kahndaq as part of the United Nations, and many there felt he put himself above them. These feelings were further compounded as Adam's rage acted without regard for politics, or even proof. He struck on nothing more than baseless suspicion, and many nations felt that were he not stopped his rampage could endanger the world.
Matters only worsened when the Justice League became involved. Their place in the political world already ill defined, their intervention against Adam acted without regard for any decision made by the United Nations, and though many still believed that their intervention was necessary the Justice League did not wait for the afflicted countries, many of who were completely without power, or the United Nations to request their aid. Their blatant action in disregard for the established order left many feeling that the Justice League was no better than Adam himself, putting themselves above normal humans.
In truth though Adam's actions were not the chief cause of what would be known as 'Adam's War.' Adam merely provided the opportunity. Many of the countries he struck were already in a state of disorder, some were in the middle of full out revolts against those in command, and his appearance, the murder of their commanders and the destruction of their homes provided all the incentive the citizens needed to strike out against their enemies.
While some countries used Adam's attack as an excuse to attack their own enemies, the destruction left in Adam's wake created the perfect breeding ground for crime and distension, virtually every para-military, gorilla combat, or extremist group in the areas he struck began fighting with one another. While when Adam himself visited countries which had respectable militaries, or had been reinforced by members of the Justice League, the collateral damage was explosive.
The Death of Superman
Superman and Black Adam met above the Himalayan Mountains. Black Adam was traveling from the Middle East and Mediterranean where he had previously visited his wrath upon those he blamed for his wife's death, and was heading toward China to do the same. Superman was not alone when he challenged Adam, Captain Atom, Wonder Woman, The Green Lantern Hal Jordan, The Martian Man Hunter J'onn J'onzz and several others were also present. It is said that Superman did not strike first, and simply request that Adam go back to his country and mourn his wife. Adam is said to have simply replied; "Stand aside or die."
The battle lasted for over fifty-four hours, during which Superman was given continuous support by the members of the Justice League. Captain Atom was allegedly killed during the first hours of the battle, his metallic skin punctured he attempted to take Black Adam with him when his body exploded, the force was measured at nearly three times that of a hydrogen bomb and was seen from space. Parts of the Himalayas are still radioactive.
The Green Lantern Hal Jordan was forced to retreat from the fight alongside an injured J'onn J'onzz when his power ring began to fail. Wonder Woman was knocked unconscious and found three weeks later by her teammates beneath a large snow drift, she suffered serious injuries but made a full recovery.
Superman eventually called in support from the Allied Nations Air Force. The Allied Forces launched six full squadrons of attack planes as well as their Special Flights division, personally lead by then President Luthor. Together President Luthor and The Man of Steel engaged Black Adam for another sixteen hours.
Ultimately Superman was laid low by a bolt of Black Adam's lightning, and struck the earth in the Himalayan Mountains with enough force that tremors were felt as far away as Bangladesh. The crater created by his fall soon filled with water and is now known as Kal-El's Grave. Black Adam succame to his injuries and exhaustion shortly thereafter.
For a full month after news of Superman's Death and Black Adam's defeat, there was not a single crime reported anywhere in the world. The fighting in what remained of Kaznia, Malkovia and the other countries ravaged by Black Adam was called off, and a temporary ceasefire was upheld in the honor of Black Adam's defeat, and Superman's life.
Superman's Funeral
It was over two months before Superman was given a proper funeral. The ceremony was held in the heart of Metropolis, in what was then called Metropolis Central Park, now Superman Memorial Park.
Visiting dignitaries from across the world came to pay their respects to the Man of Steel, as well as many aliens who's worlds and lives he had also touched, including The Oans, the founders and leaders of the Green Lantern Corp. several representatives of the Green Lantern Corp. who honored Superman with a traditional Green Lantern funeral shroud, Orion, and High Father of New Genesis, who aided Superman in the repulsion of the invading forces of Darkseid during his invasion, Big Barda and Mr. Miracle of Apokolips, honorary members of the Justice League, The Martian Man Hunter J'onn J'onzz, last of the Martian species and one of the founding members of the Justice League, King Orin and his wife Mera rulers of the undersea kingdom of Atlantis, Shiera and Carter Hal citizens of the Thanigarian empire and members of the Justice League, Princess Diana of the Amazons, Wonder Woman, one of the founding members of the Justice League, who was still recovering from the injuries she received fighting Black Adam, President Luthor, Supergirl and many others paid their respects to Superman one last time before he was entured in the Superman Memorial Building.
Superman's body however, did not remain within the Memorial. The Justice League collectively decided that it would be too dangerous to leave Superman's body at a known location, and, after the ceremony, removed Superman from the Memorial, allegedly setting his coffin to orbit the Earth at an undisclosed distance & location, so that he might always watch over the people of Earth.
The Election of President Wilson
Returning home from serving in Adam's War Slade Wilson found himself a highly decorated man. His previous employment in the American Military, coupled with his near fanatical loyalty to his men earned him much fan fare after the war. So much in fact that certain parties approached him about running for Presidency once then President Luthor's term was up.
Apprehensive at first, Mr. Wilson allegedly only agreed under the condition that he be allowed to regulate Meta-human policy, and was quoted during his campaign as saying 'Kids shouldn't wear costumes.'
None of his opponents could match the raw charisma of a man who made a career out of the military, and voluntarily returned to active service to aid his country in its time of need. The elections were short, the other candidates not even scoring close to Mr. Wilson's support and he was swept into office alongside many of the other candidates he had given his support to.
With much of the government now under his control, and his support by the American people almost absolute, President Wilson immediately began work reforming Meta-human policy. The Keene act, allowed new freedoms to individual states in how they deal with criminal Meta-humans and the Ingersoll Amendment granted the Federal Government the ability to withhold certain information from the public where Meta-humans are concerned.
Many opponents claim that the Keene act removed basic civil liberties of Meta-criminals, by allowing individual states to decide on a case-by-case basis what sort of conditions were acceptable to restrain or detain Meta-criminals, while the Ingersoll Amendment is vaguely defined, and grants the Federal Government the ability to not only decide what information to withhold but to take action to obscure or eliminate said information. While proponents of the two point to reduced Meta-human criminal escapes since the enactment of the Keene act, and reduced Meta-criminal occurrence with the Ingersoll Amendment allowing the Federal Government the ability to freely obscure the knowledge not only regarding mutation-causing chemicals but the technology used by Meta-criminals.
Foundation of the Everyman Institute
Immediately after stepping down as President, Alexander Luthor announced the foundation of a new Institution which he would personally fund, dedicated to the education of young Meta-humans and the continuation of the ideals Superman had fought and died for. He named this institution "The Everyman Institute" coining the Institution's motto 'Everyman can be a hero.' Construction began on converting the former Lex Corp. building in downtown Metropolis into the Everyman Institute almost immediately and two months later the Everyman Institute accepted it's first student.
One week later the Everyman Institute became the target of a radical anti-Meta-human hate group. A car bomb was placed outside the Institute and detonated, however, due to the Institute's uniquely sturdy construction, designed to be able to withstand the misfiring of Meta-human abilities, there was minimal damage. The responsible parties were never apprehended.
Despite this the Institute has become a sort of safe-haven for young Meta-humans, offering full room and board free of charge, Former President Luthor pays for virtually everything. The Everyman Institute functions as a full high school, employing teachers, and supplying top of the line text books, computers and learning equipment to its students, as well as offering a safe place for young Meta-humans to relax, practice controlling their unique abilities, and be themselves without fear of judgment or persecution.
Important Locations wrote:
The Everyman Institute
Located in lovely downtown Metropolis the Everyman Institute is located inside the former Lex Corp. building, Lex Corp. moved its headquarters to a more up-to-date building several years earlier, the Lex Corp. building has been completely retrofitted, and while it maintains lead-reinforced walls, for security purposes, the first floor entry hall now features a large bronze statue depicting Superman's death in the Himalayan mountains surrounded and mourned by the founding members of the Justice League, President Luthor kneeling alongside them.
The subbasement levels of the building are entirely dorm rooms, provided free of charge to anyone willing to attend the Institute while levels above for several floors offices have been completely redesigned into classrooms, outfitted with the latest in equipment to provide a top of the line education to the students of the Institute. The fifth and sixth floors have been entirely hollowed out and the fifth floor is now equipped with top of the line exercise equipment, utilized for the Institute's physical education classes, while the sixth floor bare military grade weapon's testing equipment, provided free of charge to the Meta-human students as a means to test and develop their powers.
Young Titan Headquarters
Located directly above the Everyman Institute, within the same building in fact, is the Headquarters of the Young Titans. A group of heroes founded by Lex Luthor and dedicated to preserving the heroic ideals of the Man of Steel. Young Titans are given their own rooms and training equipment, separate from that of the Institute bellow them. Each Titan is also given their own room, significantly larger than the dorm rooms which are shared two students to a room, boys and girls on separate floors, accessed by separate elevators. By contrast the Titans are given their own rooms, six rooms to a floor.
Above the boarding rooms are the Young Titan training areas, including a live-fire battle arena, variable gymnastic course, full pool and environmental training arenas, one floor converted entirely into a small park, for both training and relaxation purposes. The Young Titan Headquarters is maintained and kept orderly by a small staff of robotic butlers built by Lex Corp. they serve as both janitorial staff, chefs and general caretakers, as well as baby-sitting the younger Titans when circumstances require.

Re: Next Gen
well you never asked, and there are several things I never bothered to keep secret. And seriously, you need to step back- I don't WANT any help.
Re: Next Gen
Alright man, stepping back, just seemed like you were having a hard time.
And I did ask. I asked about a lot of stuff, but I never heard back or when I did, it was weird and hard to understand. I mean I've tried to be attentive and I've tried to find out as much information as I can about this game, but I wouldn't be able to even tell you why the Next Generation Titans exist. In my set up they're there to memorialize and continue Superman's legacy, I vaguely recall you saying something about Superman not being dead, so I know I deviated that much, but I mean like. Phoenix; have you shared any information about Phoenix, about why it exists or what its plans are or anything like that?
I can understand keeping somethings secret, like who the members of Phoenix are, but if this organization is going to be the major enemy for the game, it's hard to plan against an unknown.
and you never said you didn't want help. You never said a lot of things.
Thus far the majority of things you have been saying haven't really held up.

Re: Next Gen
You know what, no. I am not going to feel bad for trying to be helpful, I refuse. If you want to take this as an affront than go ahead, but know that my only intention was only to help insure that the game which we've all been so anticipating comes out as awesome and fun as we all hope it will.
The fact of the matter is that in all the time you've had you haven't given half the information I just produced in one evening, and I understand that lives get busy, mine does too, but that took me one evening, less since I took a six hour nap while typing it.
And I understand that I'm one of the more capable people here, and I understand that I can't hold you all to the standard I hold myself to. And I hope you understand that I do hold myself to a higher standard than I hold you to, it's how I justify my infamous ego.
But I refuse to feel bad for trying to help you with something you're obviously having trouble with, and I don't care if you don't think you're having trouble with it. Nuking Tameran is not a decent plan for an RP, and you've even SAID that you didn't think it was a great plan, and if you didn't think it was a great plan I can't fathom why you would use it!
If you know something is bad, if you know something isn't going to work, than you shouldn't use it. That's common sense for crying out loud, it's not rocket science.
You said and I quote
What part of that is in anyway contradictory to what I have presented you with here. Now I'm sure I don't know what all your plans are, at this point I'm not even sure if you have plans. But I'm certain that if you shared them with ANYONE than things could go over a whole lot smoother than they have been. And Hell, if you want to EDIT IT! I made it for you to take and use as little or as much of as you like. I was just trying to help hash out some details so you could concentrate on the big picture. I had plans to maybe have Kanto be the assassin who killed Isis, making Darkseid behind the whole Black Adam war, but only because I'm not convinced you have any plan for what caused the Black Adam war. From where I'm sitting it seems like you just picked it because you thought it was "a neat idea."
Last I heard Mercy was convinced you're lying to people about the work you're doing. I'm not sure I blame her.
And if you have been doing work, and you aren't keeping secrets. Than how about showing us some of it?! You want Questions here's some questions.
Question #1: The ambiguity of what 'Phoenix' is. I mean are they a government organization? Are they a terrorist organization? Criminal? Black Opts? Foreign Agency? Are they motivated by political, religious or simply racist ideals? This is all stuff that should be mentioned. What if I wanted to make Godfrey a supporter of Phoenix? I'd know nothing about them!
Question #2: How are the Titans supposed to stop Phoenix? Is there going to be like some big final show down between the Titans and the unnamed leaders of Phoenix? Are they going to some how find some damning evidence that exposes the Phoenix politicians as evil to the public? Is Phoenix going to be publicly I mean they are going to get to stop them right? I mean if the heroes lose than that's generally the end of the game. They've lost, that's it, do not pass go, do not collect $100. What is the conflict going to be anyway? The Titans are trying to stop someone from doing something somehow... that's about as much as you've shared thus far.
Question #3: Who are the antagonists? Are you expecting players to provide the antagonists? Am I supposed to keep people busy with Intergang while you formulate the next stages of your evil scheme? This is sh*t I need to know before things hit the fan. I get the feeling Phoenix is supposed to be evil in some way, but you haven't told us freaking anything about them so I'm left scratching my head. There was mention that Blight was going to be in the RP, is he going to be a major villain? Is he going to have some evil plan to do something evil? Is he going to have something against Meta-humans despite the fact that he's technically one of the only real Meta-humans in the game thus far?
Question #4: How are Meta-humans going to enter into it exactly? I mean I got the feeling from your pitches that this was going to be something like a Marvel Mutant Registration Act set up, with the government trying to regulate people with powers, but now I don't know. I was happy with the Mutant Registration idea, I had plans utilizing that concept, now I don't know if they're going to work for jack, because I don't know what the conflict behind the RP is going to be in the least. Mercy started thing off with Who Murdered Commissioner Gordon, I wasn't thrilled with it, but it was a good idea at the least, I might've wanted to come up with an idea of who actually did murder commissioner Gordon, which I never picked up but hey I wasn't that involved in that one.
Question #5: Where is the RP actually going to take place? I mean I thought it was going to take place in Metropolis but it seems like there's a lot of Gotham going into it for that. Powers is from Gotham, Batman is from Gotham, the DoK characters are from Gotham, Karma wanted her character to kill someone and be sent to Arkham, which is also in Gotham. The only thing I have read that supports Metropolis is the location of the Solar Tower, which is owned by Mad Mod of all people? Is it important that Mad Mod owns it? Is that going to come into the Rp at some point? Could it come into the RP at some point? Is Mad Mod going to be a character? Are you going to be playing him or is he just going to be sort of an NPC? Will it be in anyway important that he's Mad flippin' Mod? Who was bloody ancient to begin let alone now what, 30 years in the future?
Question #6: If the game is taking place in the future, how are you planning to involve the canon characters? Are you planning to involve the canon characters? Or is this going to be a sort of, we're in the future, the canon characters are old and/or dead? If we're taking place in Metropolis like I thought where the f*ck is Superman? He's Superman for crying out loud any major catastrophe and he's on it like white on rice, for that matter what about the Justice League, are we just going with the whole, they were never founded, thing that the Teen Titans show went with? Or more they're giving the Titans space, that the Teen Titans comic went with?
Question #7: Is there going to be any central plot driving this RP or is it just sort of going to be one of those, 'here's the concept and load out have fun' games? I thought it was going to be the former, I thought you were going to actually GM it, and if you were do you know what a GM does? Traditionally they do EVERYTHING. Traditionally they are all the NPCs, they are the monsters, the orcs, the merchants, the villagers, the wind, the trees, the weather, the environment, the history the culture they are EVERYTHING. Do you have anything like that? Are you going to be all of Phoenix? Is Phoenix going to be a drive force in the RP or is it just going to be one of those, they're out there watching kind of things? Or were you planning on just playing Phoenix after setting up the concept and load out? Do you have any plan what so ever for the evil? What is the heroes' goal going to be? I pointed one out right there, it's a perfectly good goal, stop this bill. It's a particularly hard one because it deals with politics but it's a perfectly fine goal.
Question #8: You've mentioned that Phoenix control or are or manipulate or do something with parts of the government, does that mean that the Titans are going to be fighting part of the government? Does that mean that it is going to be important that a former villain owns their base and that no one knows they live there? Is there going to be a point where they are outlaws working against a corrupt system? Will they have or will they make allies within the government? Will you be playing those allies like a GM would? How will the meet their allies? If the president is going to be one of their allies, and they're going to be outlaws, than how the high heaven will they meet? They will be alleged Super-criminals and the President of the United States!
If you answered 'Maybe' or 'could be' to any of these questions Than You Need Help. GM's don't get to answer Maybe, they don't get to answer 'could be.' They get to answer Yes, or they get to answer No.
When a player asks, 'can I do this____' and it involves something big like killing someone and being sent to a mental facility GMs don't say, "we'll see," GM's say "Yes I'll tell you when" or "No I don't think that will work." Either something will have a place in an RP run by a GM or it will not.
When a player asks, 'can I do this ___' and it involves something little like being from Pakistan the GM says "Yes sure, just do this ____ to make it work" or "No I don't think that will work." Either something will have a place in an RP run by a GM or it will not.
The Fun Part comes from the fact that RPs with a GM run a lot more fluid. The GM controls the evil, he controls the bloody Earth and Sky when he says it is Night it is Night when he says it is snowing it is snowing, it doesn't matter if it's the middle of summer, if the GM says it's snowing, it's snowing. It's his job to make sure that if it's going to snow in the middle of summer there is a damned good reason for it. Like I don't know, an Ice Villain attempting to take over the city. Then the heroes get to go out beat up Mr. Freeze, the GM is done for a time and the characters get to have fun playing together in the snow created by the dangerous psychopath. Then when the characters are done playing in the snow, when things are starting to slow down, the GM introduces another crisis and the heroes get to run off to thwart it.
That is what a GM does, that is what You're Supposed to be doing.
The GM is order, the GM is the architect of the world and the conflict. As it stands, I have NO bloody idea what the conflict in Next Gen is even going to be, and if I don't get some answers Now I'm dropping out and taking all my evil characters with me. Have fun being the entire antagonists for your RP, maybe it'll teach you how to be a better GM.

I'm not even in this-but I hate to say it-Robins got a point. You remind me of two little kids fighting over an oreo; pointless, to say the least.

Re: Next Gen
I think by now we can move past the debacle of what happenned above and move on to what this thread was meant to be- talking about NG
although I know the RP already started, I hope you guys don't mind me leaving this up for you guys to voice concerns about the RP ooc (Going too fast, going too slow, been out of town and not sure where everyone is, ect.) and using it to bring ideas to the table before implementing them.
That said, I found a use for the dice function in Twoface's coinflips- even numbers being heads and odd being tales.
