The witch child perked up and turned to fiddle with the door, figuring out the handles location before poking, prodding and tugging at it until the handle squeezed down under her palm and the sealed rim of the door peeled out before her.

Misji nearly fell out of the car, squeaking as the door fell open. She scrambled out once she was certain the door wouldn’t close on her, dusting herself off as she pointedly ignored Esiasch. Who was happily laughing at her around his mouth full of cookie.

”Very Graceful, Milady”

When the girl cast him a vicious glare he turned his head and went back to eating his cookie. Though he was diligent and kept an eye out on the church folk who had gotten closer in order to take some of the delicious treats from Mabel.

Misji dusted herself off, before closing the door gently (so much so the thing didn’t actually close) and walking about to the hood of the car. Her guts were all roiling and squirming as anxiety and nervousness overcame her previous exuberance. She had no idea what she would say, but darn it she would have to try.

And by try, it meant she was going to stop a few feet behind Mabel, tuck her hands into the front pockets of her dress and stare sheepishly down at her dirty boots.

Between Oracle, Occult, and the fat man bumping shoulders with her, a smile of relief came up, maybe she was just looking for trouble all this time, someone to piss her off and light the fuse with a flamethrower. Sure the tall big man could have been a nice person just a little peeved that Rhode had stepped in the second he stepped out with his posse, but she wasn't betting on that, this was Hub City after all. A smile crept up her face.

"Heh."

She really couldn't hold it in, starting a scene would have felt awkward at first, but she really needed an outlet. Turning around to face the King Crab, her smile disappeared.

"You got a problem, Asshat?"

Rhode slightly pushed his shoulder to both agitate and harness his attention.

“That’s because you had an awesome teacher.” Saul flexed his chest, and actually lifted up one arm to flex his bicep before dropping both and just kind of chuckling. “And that kid had it coming.” He smirked, giving his daughter a light tap on the shoulder. “Still. I am proud of you kid.”

“R-really?” Wound blinked up to the girl. He hadn’t expected that. He hadn’t really thought of what he was going to do if she said yes. “O-oh.” Did he have money? Oh yes he did, he had that whore’s credit card. “Oh okay. What’d you t-two wanna eat? I’m up for, ya’know…” He shrugged slightly, rubbing at his arm. “Whatever.”

“Hey there kiddo, what’s your name?” Steve tilted his glasses down to look across the bridge of his nose at the small blue girl hiding behind Mabel. He was a naturally gregarious guy, even if he did smell a little funny.

“Oh, you know… I don’t think I ever asked.” Mabel actually looked at little concerned, raising a hand to her mouth as she stepped out of the way so the group could see Misji clearly. She was about to say something else; when from behind her came a girlish squeal.

“Awwwh!” Jenifer squealed as she leaned in toward Esiasch, hands on her knees as she watched the fat rat eat his cookie. “Is this her rat?” She reached a hand out for him to sniff. “He’s so cute… eatin’ his widdle cookie… is it okay for him to be eating a cookie? Rats can eat chocolate right?”

“Rats can eat just about anything.” Liz said with a slight shrug. “I’m sure he’s fine just; don’t let him bite you. Rats carry diseases…”

Tony Dechinko lumbered to a halt, a vile smirk slowly settling across his face as Marley, Karen and Alicia all wisely choose to clear a path between him and the lithe redhead who had just insulted him. The mob King Crab half turned, looking down his nose at Rhode as he spoke. “Oh? Look ‘t this little fish.” He turned the rest of the way, setting his hands on his hips as he looked down at the girl. “Looks like someone forgot the food chain.” He grinned. “You lookin’ for a new lesson, little fish?”

Marley leaned his head to one side. “Hey; you cool with this? We got rounds to make.” He nodded down the street.

“Yeah, yeah, go ahead I got this little fish.” Tony nodded his head back, raising his chin as he spread his stance and held his chest out, making himself look as big and tough as he could… which was pretty big given the fact that he was a naturally large man who’s career consisted of regular vigorous exercise in the form of beating people up. He smirked. He liked calling people ‘little fish’ he was totally going to use that as an insult from now on.

"Don't call me fish."

Rhode grinded this seething statement through her teeth. She was the only Atlantean in the Birds, she was sure that must have been her nickname behind her back, she didn't get along with the team that well. Tony's intimidation of size didn't trouble her, it was that he kept calling her fish that really irked a certain nerve. Rhode faced villains larger than him, in the end their height meant nothing, all their muscles, and all their strength, it meant nothing in the long run.

"You can try and teach me a lesson, but I'm going to warn you right now, I'm a horrible student."

A part of her mind was asking what the hell she was getting herself into. It was too early in the morning to be attracting attention from either bystanders, or just generally fighting. This particular part of her mind also attempted to remind her that she had to lay low until night to actually do anything, which was the reason she was going to train her magic with Occult in the first place, and the thought of Occult reminded her that she left her one weapon back at his office, the mechanical armor that could produce a spear at her will was resting on the floors of his abode, if Rhode did pursue this fight, she would have to do it hand to hand, unless he had a gun or something, she couldn't tell, but she didn't expect any less. This part of her mind was being blinded by the rage that was being pent up inside.

Hands burried in her pockets, her chin up, partly to look up to him and partly because she was trying to act unphased by his physique, Rhode sneered at him.

"Bring it. If you think you can take me."

The logic in Rhode's mind hated her with such a passion.

Saul smirked a little walking with his hands in his pockets. “Hmm… What guns would that be?” He didn’t remember anyone giving him any firearms recently, though maybe that delivery kid had left a package his daughter had gotten into. He shrugged. “Either way, the first time I put a gun in your hand ain’t gonna be on some street on the way to breakfast.” He reached a hand up to rub at his chin, his jubilant mood slowly evaporating as he thought about his kid with a gun. “But, if y’want-” He figured it would probably happen sooner or later though. “I’ll take you to shooting range after work today. You can fire off a few shots with my gun. You should probably know your way around one anyway if I’m gonna be keeping one in the house.” He didn’t like the idea, even saying it tasted sour to him.

“Oh, uhm…” The small priest of Crime raise a hand to scratch at the back of his head deliberately avoided looking at either of the siblings in the eye. What did he want to eat? He had to think about that. “Uhm, there’s a decent pizza place about half a block up.” Maybe it was a little more than that, if it was still there. “They do take out but, I think they do sit down eating also…” He gave a slight shrug and an awkward half-hearted smile. “If they don’t I guess… we could take it back someplace, my place, or yours…” He visibly paled once he realized how that could have been taken. “Or-or-or just do something else! We don’t have go anyplace!”

Tony nodded Marley and his crew on. “You just be sure to leave me that cake. Damn thing’s been haunting me.” He muttered to the trio as they continued on down the street. “So tell me fish,” Tony chuckled sliding on hand back to the rear pocket on his hip, slipping his fingers in and coming out with his brass knuckles around his hand. “how long a lesson did you want.” He punched his knuckles into his open hand and smirked. “Cause I got a cake waiting for me, but I think I can spare a couple minutes to teach ya’ the food chain.”

He smacked his knuckles into his fist again, this time hard enough that he actually shook out his hand. “Alright, you asked for it girl.” He lunged, taking a step forward as he brought his knuckle bearing hand up in a swift upper-cut, aimed for the redhead’s gut. He didn’t really wanna muss up her face.

September 1st Friday
9:33-9:36AM Local Time
Stern’s End-Digger’s Field-North End

Misji perked up at being asked her name, head popping up from looking at her boots to gaze; owl eyed, at the lot of them. Her cheeks stained a faded purple as she gave a meek laugh, tilting her head one way than the other as she eyed the lot of them

“Ah—Misji, Sir! Misji Hackett!

The witch girl grabbed the muddy train of her dress, doing a curtsy to the lot of them.

Esiasch, on the other hand, was thriving in the attention. Not that Misji didn’t dote on him all the time; but he never looked at Misji’s conservatively dressed self the way he was looking at the girls all around him.

When Jenifer held her hand out to him, he made a show of ignoring her for a moment, scrubbing the crumbs off of his nose before giving a big yawn. He was bragging, showing off his impressive teeth (good for protecting offspring) and his fat belly (showing off just how well he could forage)

Finally, he looked at her, flicking his big ears all about before snuffing and waddling over to crawl up her arm. He was very heavy, clinging to her (albeit without using his nails) arm and moving up towards her face. If one looked hard enough, one might notice the smug, satisfied smirk on his face.

Misji was glaring at her familiar, annoyed with his flirtatious nature; though she would swear up and down it wasn’t because she was jealous, before looking over to Liz. The witch girl beamed wide; pleased that someone finally understood just how amazing her familiar was.

Back home, everyone teased her for Esiasch.

“Oh yes! Did you know there is this fever you can get exclusively from rat bites? It is supposed to be quite dangerous”

Misji spoke with such vigor, nearly bouncing on her heels as she crossed her arms around behind her back. Proud of her disease spreading rodent.

Rhode tried to pull her hands out her pockets, she didn't expect him to be so fast. She took the hit, yelped, this surprised her. Dropping to her knees, Rhode was gathering herself together, the pain fueled her rage, continuing to blind her logic. Breathe girl! Breathe! She staggered up, next punch he threw, she'd be ready. Fuck him up! Fuck him up good!

"That all you got? Granny's got a better swing than you." Rhode coughed, wiping her lip.

Saul nodded, more to himself than to his daughter. He didn’t like the idea of putting a firearm in his daughter’s hands, but frankly; he expected it to be a more useful skill than anything she would learn in school. “I’ll stop at home after work to pick you up, we can have dinner together and then hit the gun range.” Or maybe someplace down by the train station, no one cared if you shot some cans out down that way.

Friday, September 1st
9:33-9:36 AM Local Time
Stern’s End- Digger’s Field Park-North End

“Well it’s very nice to meet you Ms. Misjic Hackett ma’am.” Steve tipped his hat to the young girl, despite the absence of any hat there to tip. “Mr. Steve Jones at your service, an’ my wife; Mrs. Mary Jones.” He nodded to his wife, before taking himself another cookie from the tray. “Great cookies Mabel.” He popped the baked sweet into his mouth, munching away on it while the girls investigated the boasting rat back by Mabel’s car.

“Ahhh, big yawn.” Jen mimicked as Esiasch showed off his teeth, and then simply giggled as he lumbered up onto her arm. The blonde held it out for him to walk on. “Ooh he’s a big guy isn’t he? A bit of a chunky monkey hmm? Chunky monkey rat~” She teased, reaching a hand up to rub her finger beneath his chin as she grinned.

“He is a big guy isn’t he?” Liz stepped in beside Jen, watching as Esiasch. She set her hands on her knees and knelt down to smile at the rat. “Looks like he could use a wash though.” She reached a hand tentatively up to scratch the rat’s shoulder blades, and try to get some of the dirt out of his fur.

“O-oh…” Wound stammered slightly, before swallowing and peeling himself to look down the street. “R-right l-let’s just… do that.” He glanced from one teen to the other, to his feet, to the street behind them. “It, uhm, the pizza place, should be like… just up here.” He started down the road, sort of glancing back every once in a while to make sure they were still there. “S-so uh, wh-what’s your name? Names, both of your names? Uhm, what are they?” He tried not to look like he was only interested in the girl, even if he couldn’t have cared less about the boy.

“Heh.” Tony smirked. “So you can take a punch.” And then raised his hands up over Rhode’s head, locked together his fingers knitted together. “I’m not impressed.” He leaned down, dropping his hands together with the intent on cracking the redhead over her red-head.

"Ah, I'm just warming you up."

Rhode shot her feet forward, launching herself into the Mob King's abs just as he leaned towards her. She wrapped her arms around Tony's waist, and began to lift him over her head in an attempt to supplex the heavyweight. It wasn't about how much Rhode could lift, but more using his lurched stance to her advantage, bringing him over her head and onto the pavement.

September 1st Friday
9:36-9:40AM Local Time
Stern’s End- Digger’s Field- North End

The witch girl beamed, pulling her attention away from her schmoozing familiar to look over at the man, than to his wife. She bobbed her head before walking over slowly and grabbing a cookie from the plate Mabel held out. She bowed her head, grin widening to a mischievous smirk.

“Ms. Mabel told me that you all were part of a church that wanted to clean up this park? How goes that noble endeavor?”

Misji looked to the stubborn bush that had refused to be moved. She lifted the cookie to her mouth, nibbling gently at the edge as a small pang of guilt sprang to life in her belly. She should really help these people, they seemed nice and none of them had pitch forks or torches to mob at her with.

Esiasch ruffled, wrapping himself around Jenifers’ shoulders and wriggling around to show her that yes, he was a big fat rat. He smirked, making a soft squeaking noise before pressing his cheek into Jenifers’ and making a purring noise.

”I’ll show you a chunk monkey you erogenous little—“

“Esiasch!”

He hadn’t meant to project that thought, wincing as Misji scolded him out loud. He huffed and closed his eyes, purring without inner monologue this time as Liz scrubbed at his shoulders.

The witch child huffed, scrunching her nose as she had jerked her head over towards her familiar when he began projecting little static bits of his sensations. It was distracting and very inappropriate, and it made her feel uncomfortable around everyone.

“Please, forgive our messy states. We haven’t had time to bathe since arriving here this morning.”

Saul chuckled slightly as his daughter got excited and pumped her fist in the air. “Heh, you’ve still gotta be careful.” He started, dropping the humor. “You’re not gonna be the only one out there with a gun, and if there’s one thing I want you to remember; it’s that there’s always someone out there with a bigger gun, always.” He was dead serious on that point. “I don’t want you going out there and holdin’ up a bank just cause I’m lettin’ you pop off a few rounds.” He bopped Darcy in the shoulder, before stopping walking and looking around. “Wait a second; Did we pass the diner?”

Friday, September 1st
9:36-9:40 AM Local Time
Stern’s End- Digger’s Field Park-North End

“Awh don’t you worry about that.” Steve said with a smirk. “I haven’t showered today either.” He laughed softly, before his wife nudged him in the ribs and he flinched. “What? It’s true.”

“Just because something is true doesn’t mean you have to tell everyone.” Mary said with a smirk wrapping an arm around her husband’s waist.

“Really?” Steve threw one arm over his woman. “Cause I think you ought to.” He hugged Mary beneath one arm and just chuckled softly.

“Oh you two.” Mabel got in on the soft chuckling about when the boys managed to meander over to the group.

Jeffry threw his shirt over his shoulder and pulled his work gloves off one hand at a time padding them into one another before reaching for a cookie. “Cookies? Sweet.” He popped one in his mouth and gobbled it down. “Got any milk?” He asked with a smirk.

“Don’t be smart you.” Mabel retorted with equal parts humor and honesty.

Jen giggled almost uncontrollably as Esiasch nuzzled her cheek, scrunching herself up and sticking her cheek out for the rat to nuzzle. Elizabeth chuckled as she continued to scratch at his shoulders. “Awh let ‘im be. He’s just being friendly, aren’t you buddy?” She raised her free hand to scratch beneath the rat’s chin. “What was his name? Isaiah?”

Friday, September 1st

“M-my n-name, it’s W-” He cut himself off. “Uhm… Will… my name is Will.” He nodded almost more to himself than to the duo. He chuckled softly. “So, are you two… uhm, roommates? Or like cousins, or something?” Wound continued to walk down the street ahead of the two, walking sideways more than straight forward, so he could continually look back at the two. He only asked because, well you could never be sure down Paradise Lane.

The priest itched at his arm, scratching his shoulder softly. “So…” He Wanted to change the subject. “What’d you two like on your pizza?

Tony’s feet lifted up off the ground, a little. He was surprised the girl beneath him could lift his weight, but he was hunched over her. Of course he did just stick with the original plan of clubbing her over the head, though now it wasn’t so much her head as her back that his fists came swinging down into, striking against something hard hidden beneath her coat.

That move was way too fancy, Rhode knew she was going to pay for trying to show off like that. As his fists came down on her, she collapsed to the floor, despite the luck of him hitting her armor; she growled at him, as the force of the impact brought her down. Her face planted to the sidewalk, Rhode tried to scramble away from the King Crab's feet; scruffing up her coat, not that it mattered to her anyway.

“Heh.” Saul smirked. “You need extra protection you just come to me kiddo.” He flexed for his daughter before setting his hands on his hips and chuckling. “O-oh…” Wound scratched at the back of his head. “R-right, you said that… twins…” He forced an awkward smile. He was paying attention really! Just… maybe not to what she was saying… He tried not to make that too obvious. “O-okay b-bye!” He gave a slight tentatively raise of his hand before double thinking it and raising it fully in order to wave to the departing Thomas.

And then he was suddenly very aware that he was alone with a girl he’d just met on the ill-reputed streets of Paradise Lane. He started rubbing his arm again. “So… uhm… what’d you like on your pizza?”

Tony smirked a little as he felt his feet reconnect with the ground. Oh don’t get him wrong, he was impressed the chickie could lift him, but as far as he was concerned results were all that mattered, and the result of her fancy attempt to show off, was her lying on the cracked sidewalk in front of him. He raised his size fifteen boot-

“Yes, Esias—“

It was at that moment, that Misji Hackett experienced something that had been a long time coming for her. Her body had been fighting it off for years, to protect her child-like whimsy from what would eventually be the cause of her death.

Unfortunately, the presence of men, not boys, seemed to finally tip the scale in times favor.

With the shirtless boys’ approach, the witch child was fairly certain she had just undergone a rapid onset of puberty.

Her eyes wandered, she swallowed hard at the sheer indecency. By god, that was a lot of naked skin.

The pale purple that had been dappling her cheeks earlier now burst into a deep reddish purple, covering her cheeks and nose as she stammered and stuttered and nearly skittered to hide behind Mabel again.

It was too much for her, but Esiasch seemed to be glowing in the attention.

He growled and purred and moved to bury his hands in Jenifer’s hair. The sly familiar shaking himself out to dust the two girls with dried clay and dirt, he even made a show of kicking his back leg as Liz scratched under his chin.

It could be said, that the pale rat was determined not to heed the call within him to jump away from the girls and bustle and chase off Jeffry. Misji was a big girl now, she could handle one half naked boy, and she certainly didn’t need his help to figure her own damn chemistry out.

Saul chuckled, deliberately hugging Darcy closer. “Hey everyone, look, I’m hugging my daughter because I love her.” He mock announced to the street, ruffing up Darcy’s hair before releasing her. He beamed. “You can have a reputation when I’m dead, until then, you’re always going to be my kid.” He bopped his first against her shoulder, just lightly prodding her to show his affection, before giving a soft shrug. “But I will try to restrain myself, though I make no promises.” He smirked.

“Anyway, you wanna just hit this place for breakfast?” He pointed back over his shoulder to the supermarket they had just past. “I’m sure we can find something.”

Friday, September 1st
9:40-9:43 AM Local Time
Stern’s End- Digger’s Field Park- North End

Elizabeth and Jenifer both winched slightly, and giggled as Esiasch shook himself out digging his claws into Jen’s hair. Jen laughed. “What’s he doing?” She raised a hand up to gently try to keep the rat claws from nicking at her skin as she laughed.

Liz laughed a little reaching both hands up to scratch her finger tips through the fat rat’s fluff. “He’s just giving you some scratches.” She mimicked the rat, itching her fingers through his fur.

“You two be careful with that dude.” Steve called over to the two blondes. “You don’t wanna catch anything, you two ought to get the hose and wash ‘im off.”

“Did I miss something?” Jeffry looked around, first to the pair of blondes playing with the rat, and then to the bluish girl hiding behind Mabel. “Why are the girls playing with a rat?” He pointed a finger toward the pair, holding his shirt & gloves with the same hand.

“Because they think he’s cute.” May answered with a smirk. “Don’t over think it hun.” She patted him on the back, stepping around the shirtless teen, making her way over to Jerry’s truck to pick up a new tray of baby flowers to plant. “So are we here to stand around eating cookies or plant some flowers?” She said with a smile.

“I’m here to eat cookies I don’t know about you.” Jeffry said with a grin, snagging another cookie from Mabel’s tray before chuckling, sighing and turning back toward where Jerry, Theo and Jean were about ready to give up on hoisting the dead bush out of the earth. “Yo guys, cookies.” He called over with a grin.

“Dude get yo’self back here an’ help us uproot this thing.” Theo called back, hands wrapped around the staff of his pickaxe, the pick locked in the root ball of the bush before him. “We, could use, a hand.” He leaned himself back, pulling on it, the plant protested with audible creaking.

“Awh let’s take a break.” Jean suggested, dropping the shovel she had buried beneath the root ball. “Besides, coookies~” She smiled to the seven foot black man, shucking off her own work gloves as she headed over to the tray of cookies.

With half their work force abandoning the cause in favor of sweets Theo and Jerry decided to lay down their pickaxes and head over to the others as well.

Wound nodded honestly a little more than he probably needed to. “Yeah, cheese is good. It’s kinda, plain though don’t you think?” He rubbed at the back of his head. “Not that like, I’m saying you can’t get cheese if you want one that just has that on it… I kinda like to try something new every time I eat… But you don’t have to if you don’t want to.” He shrugged weakly, scratching at the back of his head. “I don’t think I’ve ever had a just cheese pizza anyway.” He chuckled softly.

Tony was knocked down to one knee as Rhode swept her foot beneath his. He grimaced and braced himself in preparation for the hit to his groin, though the girl’s foot never hit his manhood. It hit something, but it was her turn to hit something metallic beneath clothing this time. Though even the King Crab winced when there as a light wooden crack from inside his pants.

Once he was fairly certain he still had both his nuts he opened his eyes and stood up. “Heh.” He reached down the front of his pants. “Sorry girly, but ya mess with the King.” He rummaged around in his pants. “You get the Claw.” He pulled out a sawed off shotgun, the butt of which had a vaguely foot-shaped crack in it.

A gun. when he reached into his pants, Rhode thought "The Claw" was just a name he gave to his junk at first. She doesn't like it when people point weapons at her. Call it a tick, like a raw angry nerve, something a bit over a pet peeve. He better not point it at her. Yet, she wanted him to. Rhode backed up and got back onto her feet.

"What, you can't take on a girl so you gotta pull a 12 gauge on her?"

She started advancing on him.

"C'mon! Pull the trigger! Do it!"

September 1st Friday
9:43-9:51am local time
Stern’s End-Digger’s Field- North End

The Witch girl looked over to the rest of them, staring particularly at Theo, before she schooled her features and walked meekly over to the girls playing with her familiar. She carefully got between them and plucked the large rat from his perch atop Jenifer’s head.

“Pardon but, he is really not supposed to behave so rudely. He is supposed to wait for people to pick him up before climbing on them”

”Hmph, spoil sport”

”You’re MY familiar Esiasch, not theirs. But if you like, I could always let them hose you down”

”Tsk, jealous much M’lady?”

Misji bristled a bit, tugging the rodent so tightly to her chest that his tongue stuck out as the air was pushed from his lungs. He got the hint and relaxed in her arms, quieting his bullying for the sake of easing his mistress’ ire. She was so territorial sometimes, he was pretty sure she had no idea why she got so upset about something so trivial, it was the only selfish thing she did.

A very manly part of him ruffled with pleasure at the thought of her being so obsessive about keeping him to herself.

Misji adjusted the rat up into her arms a bit more snuggly, trying not to huff as she protectively guarded him from the giggling girls. She moved back to Mabel, who had quickly become her safety net, trying her damnedest not to gawk at all the full grown men. Steve was interesting, and Jeffry was….

He was uncharted territory that she was going to try and avoid.

But Theo, Theo was amazing! His dark skin tone and deep voice caught her attention and she found she quite liked his happy face. She would peak over Mabel to look at Theo, trying not to be rude but in all honesty; different ethnicities were new for her and she was so intrigued by him.

When they all began to gather to indulge in Mabel’s fine baking the witch child decided to speak up. Surely, it was rude to be so stand offish; she could cast aside her shyness for the sake of offering up her assistance.

“If you all would not mind, I would gladly volunteer to assist you in your noble cause. After all, Ms. Mabel has been so kind to us and it is the least I can do”

Friday, September 1st
8:35-8:44 AM Local Time
Downtown-Uncle Lee’s Asian Market

Saul followed his daughter into the supermarket wearing a smirk and holding one hand in his pocket. He gave a light look around before catching up to Darcy. “Hmm, this place looks different.” Was his sole statement within regard to the store. It wasn’t really all that different than a regular supermarket. It had aisles and shelves, cash registers and conveyer belts. The only real difference was the stock; and the lack of English labels, and the fact that the meat department appeared to have large tanks of actual live fish. “Now... where’s the hot ready-made stuff?” Saul said with a smirk looking around the store.

Friday, September 1st
9:43-9:51 AM Local Time
Stern’s End- Digger’s Field Park- North End

“Awh okay. He’s a real cutie though.” Jenifer gave Es a light scratch beneath the chin as his owner pulled him away giving him a soft smile as she and Liz followed the girl and her rat back over to the group, each of them taking a cookie from Mabel’s tray; Jen took two and tried to sneak Esiasch a second one without Misji or Mabel noticing.

“We’ll take any help you wanna give.” Steve said with a smirk, taking a step forward to ruffle the blue girl’s hair.

“We’re in two teams.” Jerry added, wiping his forehead off with the back of his hand. “Me Jean and the guys are pulling out the dead stuff, while Steve and the girls are planting in the new stuff.”

“Stick with us Misiegh-” May mangled Misji’s name, though she visible winced as she did so. “We’ve got tulips.” She said with a bit more of a grin, holding up the tray of baby flowers in her arms.

Jeffry chuckled lightly. “Hey, just cause she’s a little girl doesn’t mean she’s got to be with the chicks.” His humor tone earned him a few glares from the girls in question.

“Hey, just ‘cause we’re planting flowers doesn’t mean we can’t rip things up.” Elizabeth taunted through her cookie. “Keep that in mind Jeffry.” She sneered playfully.

“Actually.” Jean spoke up, shucking off her work gloves as she stepped out from behind the broad Jerry. “If it’s cool with you guys I’m getting kinda tired. Someone else want to take my place pulling wedds with the dudes?”

“I can man a shovel if you guys need.” Alex spoke up, still sitting on her knees by the recently planted flowerbeds. She pushed herself up before stepping over to the group.

My girl!” Theo cheered, offering the redhead a high five; well a high five for her, Theodor was almost two feet taller than the short haired girl. She had to jump to return it, but both parties beamed at one another. “Grab a shovel and ‘dig’ in.”

Alex chuckled a little, everyone else rolled their eyes.

Friday, September 1st

Paradise Lane – Streets

“Definitely.” Brother Wound beamed back to the young girl he was walking the streets with. “You can do whatever you want, I-I mean as long as you’re able.” He flinched a little, rubbing the back of his neck before appreciatively spying the pizza shop he had long quested for. “Hey there’s the pizza place!” He pointed it out, deliberately changing the subject from his possibly, probably, inappropriate outburst that may or may not have drawn into question her ability to remove sliced up toppings from a pizza.

It was just a little corner shop, part of a national chain, though it didn’t appear to have any place to sit down and eat. “Uhm… You wanna just like, grab a pizza and like, eat it on the sidewalk? Or we could totally hit a different place… y-ya’know if you want.” He shrugged, returning to rubbing his arm.

Friday, September 1st
10:08-10:09 AM Local Time
Downtown-Streets

“Kay.” Anthony Dechinko gave a slight shrug, looking down the sawed-off barrel of his twelve gauge shotgun, holding it out with one arm, pointed down to the redhead’s face. He squeezed the trigger, the hammer cocked back, and then threw itself forward. It struck against the cap of the chambered shell. The gun metal sparked, the gunpowder caught, the shot thundered out through the street.

Smoke and flash left the barrel first; followed by the shot pellets. The sawed off barrel kept the pellets from picking up much direction, and upon leaving the barrel they scattered; spraying in every direction. Some dusted the sidewalk behind the Atlantian, others shattered the window of the delicatessen or lodged in the doorframe. The deli owner ducked down as soon as he heard the shot.

Rhode was peppered the metal pellets some struck her in the face, others bounced off the armor of her collar or chest. Blood stained the street.

Rhode looked away as the shot stung her face, her stance broke and she took a step back when she took the hit. The burning sensation surged through her body as if everything she had been stung by a thousand hot needles; her head slung over and her arms went limp to her side, her frame hunched over, her mouth hung open as blood spilled out freely. Groaning, coughing, shaking, blinking through blood pooling down her face, she slowly checked herself, but she was still standing. Imagining what shock was going through this man's mind, shooting a little girl with a sawed off and she didn't drop to the floor like anyone else in this city would. Well, not immediately, she was using all the strength she had to try to stand. The shot had affected her more than she had anticipated. She had dealt with gunfire before, but not so close. Not so powerful.

Rhode leaned against the broken window of the deli, her head stained the glass as her blood filled the cracks. She tried to open her right eye, the one that faced the shot head on, but couldn't. Lifting her hand to check, the touch of her eyelid stung, she couldn't tell what damage had been done to it, but it would heal. Her wounds always did.

"That… that all you got? I can do this all day." Rhode managed to say, her skin feeling oily from the blackness that powdered the right side of her face, unaware of how much blood was leaving her body until she finally collapsed on the floor.

8:44-8:50 AM Local Time
Downtown-Uncle Lee’s Asian Market

Saul looked the market’s hot section over before selecting himself a rather plain dinner plate from their displays. “Alright, let’s. I’m hungry.” He smirked to his daughter, nudging her in the side with his elbow as he walked past her and onward to the register to pay for their meals. It wasn’t as much has he was expecting a couple bucks over twenty dollars, so he just paid in cash, snagging a couple plastic forks, wrapped in a bag beside a mini-napkin. “You got someplace to eat?” He asked the cashier, who blinked at him before pointing toward the tacky little ‘dining’ area near the front of the store. “Ah.”

Friday, September 1st

‘Will’ blinked lightly as she pointed out the bench. He shrugged a bit. “A-alright, if you want.” He leaned himself away from her and toward the pizza parlor, sort of subtly trying to excuse himself without actually saying anything. He took a few short steps toward the pizza place; at least until she asked if he had a job ‘here.’ It may not have been her intention, but when asked if he had a job on Paradise Lane; he instantly thought she was asking if he was a hooker. He only had one response to that. “I-i-I’m not a whore!” He blurted out staring at her wide eyed, before it dawned on him that that might not have been her intention. He blushed lightly and became interested in his shoes. “I-I-I’m a priest…” He muttered lightly.

Friday, September 1st
10:09-10:10 AM Local Time

Tony cocked his shotgun over his shoulder and gave it a single pump, the cartridge popped out and a new one loaded itself into place. “Wow.” The mobster grumbled with audible surprise. “You’re one tough bitch.” He took a half-step forward to loom over the bleeding Atlantian. “Normally that’d be your face decorating the wall.” He’d shot more than a few people with ‘the Claw’ over his tenure as the biggest drug dealer in Hub, most of the time it was to make a point and most of the time it was point blank. This one time he had a couple of boys holding the guy still. The shot had splattered the dude’s head all over the both of them. They had to strip naked and shower off in the dude’s apartment. The memory still made Tony chuckle.

“Let’s see what the fish is carrying hmm?” Dechinko stood straddling Rhode, a leg on either side of her as he sheathed his claw back down the front of his pants and started patting down the bloodied girl beneath him. He searched her for, for lack of a better term, loot.

The world was spinning; cold face, cold legs, cold fingers, she could feel her heart slowly pumping as blood left her body. Rhode felt Tony feel her down, searching her, but couldn't help but think there were other reasons to do so in her barely conscious state. Each breath she took was slower and shorter than the last. Her one good eye saw the giant's massive foot in front of her. Rhode grunted, moaning in annoyance, she began to tug on the mobster's pant leg with blood covered fingers.

She wasn't exactly sure why she was tugging so desperately on his pant leg, just that it felt right. Maybe her subconscious was trying to use his leverage to get up and fight, maybe she just didn't like him standing over her, or maybe she was trying to hold onto what life she had left. Her body began to curl up with a mixture of pain and trying to make Tony stop. A feeble attempt, but her rebellious nature faught against what little logic she had. What she was most afraid of was him turning her over, his touch stung, and he wouldn't be gentle about it. That and the money Occult gave her was in her front breast pocket of her coat.

Occult is going to kill her. That is if Tony already hadn't.

Esiasch was allowed to crawl out of Misji’s arms and onto her shoulders, wrapping around her and casually reaching out to snag the cookie Jen offered. He cast a wink at her before curling tightly around the back of Misji’s neck, not bothering to try to keep the crumbs that fell from his snack out of his Mistress’s hair.

Misji laced her fingers together and tucked them under her chin as she thought hard on what she wanted to help with. On the one hand tulips were pretty, on the other hand she was fascinated by the male gender and wanted to get a closer look at them.

She tapped her foot, taking her dirty state into consideration and figuring that it didn't matter what she did, she was dirty anyway and digging or planting flowers wouldn't change that. She did unlace her fingers and reach down to dust her apron a bit though.

“Esiasch is a great digger! He can help you all turn up roots and other such weeds and other such nuisances.”

The witch girl moved towards Theo, slowly drawing the munching rat from her shoulders and holding him out to the large man. Her wide eyes seemed to grow wider, her mouth opening into a big broad grin as she held Esiasch under his armpits. She openly ogled Theo, letting out a big excited huff until she couldn’t hold her tongue anymore.

“My word you are a dark fellow! Are you immune to the sun? How have you grown so tall? Surely Ms. Mabel’s cookies do not increase ones height!”

She sounded so excited, rocking on her heels as she offered up her chubby familiar to the black man, for him to take and set to work in the muck, mud and roots.

“That’s not a bad idea.” Saul nodded to his daughter as he carried his plate of ‘orange chicken’ over to the dining area indicated by the staff. The tables & chairs were a little short for him, but he didn’t plan on being there for too long. “What’d you wanna pick up while we’re here?” He cracked his tray open and stabbed a chunk of chicken with the flimsy plastic fork provided by the supermarket. “Heh, I bet they’ve got all kinds of really weird stuff here.” He popped the piece of meat into his mouth, chewing it thoroughly before swallowing. “Think they’ve got eye of newt?” He said with a sarcastic smirk.

Friday, September 1st
9:51-10:01 AM Local Time

Jenifer smirked a little as she thought she saw the large rat wink at her. It was probably just her imagination, but she was amused by the idea that the critter was endowed with human intelligence and that that intelligence liked her. She liked to think that people liked her.

“Well alright then little lady.” Theodor reached a hand out and laid the broad black palm atop the pale blue girl’s head, ruffling her hair in a light, entirely cordial gesture. “Guess Isaiah is on our team then hmm?” He chuckled lightly. The vast black man laughed openly at her excited questioning, setting his hands atop his hips as he looked down at the cadaver girl. “Hah, nawh, nawh. I ain’t nothing like that. I’m black.” He pointed to his chest as though this was a badge of honor. “Never seen a black brother before?” He smirked, apparently not that surprised that the little homeless orphaned girl had never seen a black man before. To be fair Hub wasn’t the most diverse of cities, racism.

Friday, September 1st
9:53-9:58 AM Local Time
Paradise Lane- Streets

“Oh, well…” Wound rubbed at the back of his head trying to figure out how to phrase what he wanted to say. “Well you see, I’m not really a high ranking priest, just sort of, an, initiate. It's not really this big thing, just something that's kinda helping me with some stuff... motivational stuff, you know... stuff.” He rubbed at his shoulders and shrugged softly. Eventually he just nodded his head toward the pizza place. “You wanna eat?” He took a couple steps toward the entrance, opening the door for the young girl.

Friday, September 1st

Tony whistled as he found the wad of cash in Rhode’s pocket, lifting her up by the scruff of her neck so he could get at it before deciding that was all she had worth his time. Well that and the funky armor she was wearing, but even he wasn’t a bad enough guy that he was gonna shoot a chick in the face, rob her blind and strip her corpse down in the middle of the street. “Ops, looks like I spoke a little too soon.” He smirked to himself looking down to the hand tugging at his pant legs. “Tough son of a bitch ain’t cha?” he chuckled softly, dismounting the bleeding redhead and starting down the street. “Well, best of luck to ya.” He waved back over one shoulder running his thumb through the cash in hand as he walked off.

OOC: If Karma can’t post I’ll just do something to keep Rhode from dying myself next round.

Tuesday, March 21
12:34-12:50 AM Eastern Sea
Atlantis Boarder

A hand reached out and grabbed her shoulder. Rhode knew he was following her. It was her father, he was a tall lanky man, short brown hair that was graying on the sides.

"You don't have to do this."

Rhode hadn't faced him, she relaxed her shoulders, and continued to swim. Her father followed her until they were miles away from Atlantis. She turned around to face him, her eyebrows furrowed she crossed her arms and told him telepathically:

"You said I was meant for so much more than this."

The man shook his head, and swam forward to hold his daughter's hands.

"Not like this, child, you don't need to leave your friends, your family, your home, you can do so much more here."

Rhode snapped back, withdrawing her hands from his violently.

"We are one civilization, on land there are thousands, tell me what impact I can make in the world thousands of feet below the surface."

Rhode's father starred at her, simply floating in the water, not saying anything; he couldn't say anything. He lowered his head, disappointed that he was losing his only daughter to the outside world.

"I thought so. I'm going to go up there and make a difference."

Friday, September 1st
10:10-10:11 AM Local Time
Downtown-Streets

When Rhode knew Tony was gone, she pushed herself against the wall of the deli, smearing the sidewalk as she made her progress. Grunting and groaning, she eyed the blood flow and tried to lean against what holes she could feel for pressure. Her lungs felt weak, each breath she took was harder than the last. Trying to sit up straight, Rhode used her elbow to lean against the sidewalk to prop herself up.

"Bastard…"
