The Darkest of Knights

Alice stepped back, grunting from the kick, she needed to watch out for her, she was fast as, if not faster than her; though they both had a hard time fighting each other. "He... He is alive. You didn't... No of course you didn't know that. You don't even want to drop a line off to your daddy. He basically murdered one of my best friends who's pregnant recently." Alice said also in fighting stance.

"Don't give up Zero.. Don't! Do you hear me? Get your eyes out of the light, we don't want anything else to happen to your eyes." Barbara begged looking directly in his eyes. The color was a grayish black. The sight sent a chill down her spine.

"Okay, really, lying? That's a new low. I SAW the body." Rose said, her face now furrowing with anger. "And to say a dead man beat a pregnant woman? Yeah, you're gonna have to come up with a more convincing lie then THAT, GI Jane!" Rose said angrily. In concept, it sounded utterly ridiculous, no WAY it could be true..... could it?

"Oh WISE UP!" Zero snapped. "They're allready fried by now. There's no going back now, don't you get it!?" Zero said in his half panicked, half depressed stupor. His ashen eyes drifted towards where he envisioned Batgirls voice was coming from. "I'm screwed, plain and simple." Zero sighed, his voice somber.

"Oh god, don't you watch the news at all? Do you know anything about The Seven Days that Shook the World? You know about Black Lantern Corps? Do you know anything?!" Alice asked her as if she was an alien from Tameran, completely ignorant. "Slade was brought back to life and as a shadow form called Wrath, he was reduced to a bug, but he equip himself with a new robotic body and a new apprentice." She explained.

"I knew you were full of Sh*t, GI Jane." Rose practically laughed. "Reall,y my father is a bug in a robot? Yeah, I heard about the seven days that shook the world, but you expect me to beleive my father was some living blob named Wrath? yeah right!" Rose said in mock laughter, but she had a lingering doubt in her mind......

Could She be telling the truth? She WAS raised by Slade, it's not like her lying was unexpected. But still......

Was she right?

Alice facepalmed. She was right that was pretty outrageous to even believe that. "Look even if I told you something slightly believeable you wouldn't believe me without any evidence." Alice said walking over to her MP5Ks and picking them up. "I can't show him to you but if you join us we're bound to run into him again." Alice said putting her guns in their proper holsters. "Are you willing to look into the truth? Would I make up such a stupid lie like that Rose? Think about it, if I wanted to lie to you I'd make it more realistic."

"Shut up Zero! Get a hold of yourself!" Barbara rebuked slapped the back of Zero's head. "I was a cripple before remember? There's always Lazarus Pit. We just have to find it." Barbara said. She didn't want to mention the insanity part just yet; not their relations with Ra's.

Rose squinted at Alice. "What, become your lil' groupie?" She asked, seeming to have no intention of it. She thought for a second. It's not like proving Alice was full of crap wouldn't hurt her cause, and if she WAS wrong...... well, her swords were useless against her, she could cross that bridge when the time came.

"Ok, I'll go along with your lil' plan, GI Jane, but if I find this is a pile of horse crap, I'll wring your neck, got it?" She said, relaxing her stance and making sure her swords were put away. She didn't take her eyes off Alice for a second, though.

Zero raised an eyebrow. "That's a joke, right? I know the only person that knows where they are ain't just gonna GIVE us one." Zero said. There was no way in hell he could squeeze the information he needed out of Ra's Al Ghul, not in his current condition. He had never swapped blows with the mastermind, but he had heard full well what he was capable of.

"C'mon, Batman is waiting at the end of the viaduct. Follow me. Raven, you can come out now." Alice said and the form of a black raven appeared from the ground. "We have to get off of the viaduct," Raven said "the antidote is ready." She explained. The pressure in the viaducts were building up. "C'mon!" Alice urged.

"We'll just have to try. I mean, we have his grandson. That has to count for something." Barbara encouraged. "C'mon, your eyes will be back to normal in no time.

"What's that? I think Alice is coming.. She's with Raven and.. Who the hell is that? Female Slade? Flade?" Batman asked watching them approach.

Ivy glanced over at John. "Glad you're up." She commented, turning back to Luna. "You put some spell on her when you were crazy." She explained, distracted by the sound of voices in the other room. "Try and fix her. If you can." The heroine advised, slowly backing towards the medical bay.

"Zero! You're up already! And you, too, Babs!" She grinned upon entering, before taking in the poignant atmosphere. Something just didn't seem right about their expressions. Everything seemed too tense. "Wait...What's wrong?" she inquired, slowly nearing the two.

Rose jabbed her middle finger at Batman. "The name is Rose, pencil ears." She seethed, in a manner similar to a particular green cyborg. She crossed her ams nervously- surrounded by four people that frankly could take her apart that she wasn't fond of didn't make for warm fuzzy feelings.

Zero sat up a little. True, Damian was his grandson, he might be able to get some leverage with Ra's. "But still, Ra's isn't just-" he froze up when he heard Ivy's voice. Oh god, the last thing he wantedd was to make Ivy nervous about him! He quickly put a pillow over hsi face to hide his ashen eyes. "N-nothing's wrong, dollface! I, uh, just, was, uh, talking about the day with Barbara!" He said, PRAYING Barbara caught his drift to keep quiet, as he was a terrible liar. But he didn't want Ivy to worry about him, he truly didn't- lord knew he couldn't bear it to make Ivy upset.

Joker kept his mouth shut till the trio was out of sight. "Wow, that was sad. They forgot the villain." if he could move his hands, he would facepalm right now.

Robert continued to drive along the road, until he saw a strange colored gas rising up from the sewers. "Ok, I'm pretty sure that no one has THAT bad of a digestion problem so... What the hell is that?!" he pointed it out to everyone.

Batman's face flattened, unamused and unimpressed, she was the last person he wanted to deal with. "Oh, that Rose Wilson." Batman said with a voice flatter than a pancake, a voice so monotone it rivaled Raven's voice. He punched the lever to release stress and the antidote flushed through the viaducts faster than a speeding bullet. "What the hell is this bi*chy brat doing here?" Batman asked. "She's trying to kill us all, wants to meet her dad." Alice said scratching the back of her head nervously. "Your dad nearly killed my Fiancee last night and this night." Batman said with a stone cold face, still not knowing why Alice thought it was a good idea to bring her along. "Relax Batman, I can try to heal her up when we get back." Raven explained. "Sorry I've been out, staying low is hard." She said embarrassed.

"Zero..." Barbara sighed, her right hand was still bleeding, and her head was banging, and she could have swore that her heart sank to her stomach. Barbara looked up at Ivy an motioned to her in a way that Zero lost his eyesight. "He's fine, just a bit bent out ... Out of shape. From the antidote, and.. Uh being crazy." She managed to say.

"Oh." Ivy mumbled, suppressing a gasp. She understood what Barbara was saying. Zero had finally done it. Messed with his eyes to the point he's just blind now. She sat on the edge of the bed beside him, placing a hand on his shoulder in assurance.

"Um, want me to get you some gauze for that...?" The heroine asked Barbara, motioning to her gory hand.

Astro watched John wake Luna up in astonishment. What an odd ability.

"What the hell..? Look at that.." Jason said pointing to another sewer more strangely colored steam was seeping out. Then all of a sudden the sewage lids started bursting with the gas, one by one, the bus swerved to avoid the holes. Everyone screaming as the gas pervaded through Gotham's streets.

...

Bang. Head shot. "Nice one, Deadshot." Riddler said loweing his binoculars. "Huh, didn't think I was that good?" Deadshot asked. "No no no, I never doubted your skills as a hired gun." The Riddler said appologetically. "Though I'd like you to kill the Joker if you don't mind." He said. "Thousand bucks a pop." Deadshot said aiming down his sights. "The bastard is responsible for stunting our progress and plans!" Bang. Headshot. "Hey those don't count right?" Riddler asked, referring to his thousand dollar bullets. "Nah, just practice. Whoa... What's this? Somethings blocking my sights.."

"Yeah, I thing its time to replace this." Barbara said

"I love you too, MASKED WEIRDO." Rose snorted defiantly. As Batman continued to rant on, her hand formed a duck and followed Greyson's voice. As the Bats ranted about healing Batman's fiance, Rose procured a picture from her pocket. It was a picture of an infant, bearing a striking resemblance to Rose. "If only you could see momma now..... *sigh*" She grunted, putting the pic away as the Bats chatted on.

Sarah shrugged. "I dunno. If you think I'm in the loop, you've got another story comin'." Sarah said to Robert with her arms crossed.

Zero figured there was no point in hiding it now- he dropped the pillow, allowing Ivy to see his burned- out eyes. "I'm sorry Dollface, I didn't want you to see me like this......" He apologised, placing his hand on top of Ivy's.

(Casey o-o?)

"Whatever it is, it can't be good. Close all the vents and windows!" Robert shouted back to everyone. "WE gotta keep that gas out!"

"Shut it Sladebaby!" Batman barked at Rose. "Okay everyone our job here is done, we gotta move to Jump City and meet up with the Titans. Cyborg and Red Robin has been itching to get back together for a bit. The city should return to normal and we've gotta beat it as soon as possible." Batman said popping the top of the Bat-tank open. "C'mon get in!" He ordered. "Wait but we gotta prove to Rose that Slade's still alive!" Alice retorted climbing in. "Yeah he was on T.V. The day you ran into Metallo with your car, remember? I can show her playbacks of that, but we gotta move! Robin, Raven, Rose, get in!" Batman said pissed and tired.
Last he had rest was two days ago.

"What do you think I'm doing softie?!" Jason asked closing the windows. "Alaska is out cold!" Luis reported closing several windows. "Whoa! You can't see sh*t!! How are you driving?! Stop this crazy thing!" Jason screamed looking out into the distance.

Barbara looked away. This would get ugly.

Rose nervousdly realized that Robin had saw the picture, but Batman's tammering shifted her attention. Rose wanted to say a billion different things to Batman, but she settled for crossing her arms and stomping after him into the Batmobile when he said so. She squashed herself into the back seat as much as possible, nervous about being in the car with all these people she didn't much care for. "Oh, wait, what about that clown from earlier?" She piped up, referencing the Joker.

Bard was right, Robert couldn't see more than a foot in front of the bus! "Right!" he stepped on the brake and put the bus in reverse to help slow it down. The bus rattle as it hit a few parked cars and hit the curb, going up on the side walk. Once the bus stopped, Robert ran over and closed the vents, pulling his shirt over his nose as a precaution. "I guess we hunker down here till whatever this is disperses." he said to the people who weren't unconscious.

Joker, laughing, passed out as the antidote shot through the viaducts.

Having received quadruple the amount of antidote than the others, due to the fact that she was the experiment, Karmy awoke feeling heavily drugged. Good thing her body was numb, or she would be crying out in pain from how heavily beaten and shot she had been. "What.." she tried to ask to the blurred shapes in the room.

Ivy suppressed the urge to gasp at Zero's eyes. Holy...they're messed up worse than I thought was possible. she thought, examining them. She couldn't think of anything to say, so she stood and grabbed the gauze from the bedside table, turning her attention to Barbara instead. She didn't even notice Karm awaking.

Astro sucked in a breath. "Wow." was all he could remark.

"Joker?! Who the hell cares?" Batman grunted turning on the sonar in the Batmobile to guide through the city. "We tied him up and left him to the antidote, chances are he was high on his own poison." Alice explained. "Sonovabitch wants to destroy Gotham with its own citizens. As expected." Batman mumbled. "It'll cost millions to repair and chances are since everyone knows I'm The Goddamn Batman now they'll want to tax my ass for this."

Barbara leaned her head back and unwrapped the gauze and saw her bones protruding from her flesh. Blood laced around the bone and dripping softly to the floor. The sight of it made her face go pale, flushed with disgust, she fainted next to Zero.

"Babs!" Ivy cried, wrinkling her own nose in disgust at the bone poking through. She carefully pushed the bone back in, wrapping the wound over with gauze (Ew. Ew.Ew.). She couldn't tell if Batgirl had fainted from blood loss or disgust, either way it was bad.

"Why shouldn't I be?" Astro asked. "All I can do is turn into a ghost." he joked feebly, attempting to lighten up the place.

"So...... you're just gonna leave him in the sewers like that?" Rose asked curiously. The fact that Robin was visualy disecting her didn't make her feel anymore comfortable then she allready wasn't, so she reduced her profile even more.

Cassius had enough trailing Slade for one night. He figured by the blowd- up sewer caps that Batman did his job, so he avoided thso eand made hsi way back tot he Batbox.

"What is it, what's wrong?" Zero asked Ivy, noting worry in her voice. He wished he could help, but blind as he was, he honestly couldn't do much.

Slade decided to whip up small talk as the elevator zoomed up to THorne. He sized up the man named Rocky. Overall, unimpressive- c grade thug was the vibe he got. "So, what brings you to work for the big man?" Slade asked, just trying to strike up small talk for the hell of it.

Cyrah had a crazed look as the Bus zoomed away. "Do it again! Muwahahaha!" She said, enjoying it perhaps a bit TOO much........

"Babs fainted and her hand is bleeding like a squirt gun." Ivy explained, wrapping the bandage over for the umpteenth time. "I saw bone." She shuddered as she said it, watching Barbara's vacant expression. "Should I wake her up, or is it better to just let her sleep?" she asked Zero, none too sure when it came to medical information. Though she thought it best to let her rest.

Astro stifled a laugh at the two quarreling heroes.

Zero thought for a second. "Make sure there are no breaks in her hand or anything, then put on a TIGHT bandage to stop it from bleeding out, these past few days she's probably lost a ton of blood. After that, rest ought to be the only thing on her list for a while." Zero calmly relayed to Ivy.

"We tied him to the viaducts! Not in the sewers! And we are just leaving him." Alice said crossing her arms, upset that she accused her of doing something that disgusting. She's only been in the sewers several times in her life, and Gotham's sewers were the worst sewers to be in. That would be sheer torture. "He's just getting a spin on our antidote. Hopefully that'll clear his head." Batman said as they made their way out of the city and to the Batbunker. "Finally here. Okay everyone lets move! We don't have any time to lose! Raven I need you to heal everyone's injuries as much as you can we gotta go!" "I'm on it." Raven said leaving the tank before it even opened up.
