The Darkest of Knights

"What person in there right mind doesn't?" Robert grinned and wiped the sweat off his brow. "Seeing as I built it, I call driving it of course. How much we got left." he signaled for everyone to bring over the weapons and ammo so that they could do a count. He had already emptied his pack on the floor.

"Hmm.. lets swing by the gun store again, I dropped the Chey Tech when we were running from that Evil Super." Jason said picking Alaska up. "Wow.. you're arms look stronger." She muttered.

"And what, drive this thing through the mall?!" Robert looked at him, bewildered. After a few seconds of thinking about it, "Hop in gents and lady," he jumped onto the steps of the bus. "We're a goin' mall hoppin'!"

"Yeah that's what I thought!" Jason said placing Alaska in the front seat and sitting right next to her. "No seatbelts." Luis observed walking in. "I never rode any city buses, how are we going to plow through them?" He asked.

"Oh yeah, that reminds me!" Robert hopped out of the bus and pulled something out from under the bus. Once finished, the floorings from inside the bus as shaped like the front of a train. "Might fall off as we're going, but it should hold for a bit." he slammed the doors shut. Starting up the bus, he gave a whoop and a holler before stepping on the gas pedal. Once they burst through the store, the crazies were drawn to them like moths to the flame. "I am not filing any damage reports on this when this is all over!" Robert called over the screams and laughs that were slightly muffled in the bus.

"You little snot! You're making me fill out those forms?!" Jason complained holding on tight to a rail close by... and Alaska.

"Hey! I'm taller than you buddy boy!" Robert said, swerving left and right to shake the crazies off. "And nah, we'll just get Sam to do 'em. If he's no- oh well speak of the devil!" The crazified Sam had leaped up against the window and was trying to bash his way in. "Don't kill him, we need him to fill out the paper work!"

"Sam? Samuel Andrew? Trigger Happy?" Jason asked, Trigger Happy was Sam's nickname the police gave him. "And I dunno how long you've been in the force but chances are he won't know what happened. It's either you or me pal, and by the look of things its gonna be both of us." He yelled over the screaming.

"Bah, I hate desk duty." Robert hunched over the wheel a bit as he turned on the wipers, spraying Sam in the face with wind shield fluid. "Hopefully the comissh doesn't remember any of this either."

"Probably not but there's lots of evidence... what if we say we don't remember any of this either. Hmm?" Jason asked slyly.

"Hey.. Yeah!" Robert perked up immediatly. "It'll be like, every one was completely brickfaced! And when this is over... They just got a hangover. We can totally drink after this, and wake up with everyone else or.. If they wake up. Either way, I'm grabbing a bottle of Don Juan after this and chillin'."

"Jim Bean here." Jason smiled. "I love Jim Bean!" Alaska said nearly jumping out her seat. "Damn woman, are you hitting on me?" Jason asked, "Are you?" She asked back. "Hey, hey. We gotta get to the gunshop first!"

"Alright." Robert made a sharp, right turn and continued to plow through the crazies. "Wait.. If we're on the first floor.." he pondered as he drove. "And the gun shop is on the second floor... Well, crap!"

"Wait... second floor?! What are you talking about wasn't it on the.. how do we get to the second floor? The stairs?" Jason asked. "That or we can stop by the elevator." He pondered aloud.

"Well hey, I reeeeaaallly don't think this thing can fit into the elevator!" Robert said. "Doesn't mean we can't try though." he floored it and headed for the elevators.

Jason facepalmed again, he had a feeling he would be doing that more often. "I mean stop in front of the elevator." He explained.

"Well duuuuh!" Robert said, making a face. "If you think I would ruin this baby by running into an elevator, well then you're wrong!" he skidded to a halt in front of the elevators, sliding so that the door to the bus was right next to the elevators. "Ok so, who stays here and who goes?" he asked, standing up.

"I wanna go with you an Luis." Jason said. "What?! Aint no way you talking the black guy with you! They gonna kill me!" Luis complained crossing his arms and refusing to go.

"Ah chill man." Robert waved him off and tossed a gun to both Levis and Alaska. "There are less crazies up there than down here. Granted there is that one crazed one with the powers. But.. I forgot my point."

"C'mon big boy." Jason said walking out and punching the elevator's button. "Hey! I don't know how to use this! I shoot with cameras, not guns!" Alaska said holding out the gun like a dead rat. "You just point and shoot." Jason explained. "Its a tool for killing." She griped. "Its a tool for defense. Don't worry, we'll come back. Right Big guy?" Jason asked. Luis sighed. "If I die, y'all are gonna laugh."

"I think there's enough laughing going on around us, don't ya think?" Robert said, talking about the hoard of laughing crazies around them. "We wont laugh at the loss of a friend, not that that's gonna happen of course." he pressed the close button on the elevators and they were off.

Levis quickly closed the doors to the bus and ducked down next to Alaska. "If we stay real quiet..." he whispered to her. "Maybe the won't hear us."

"Watch your step though." Jason said cocking his handgun back as the doors slid open. "And don't get caught in the bullshit." He said rushing out.

Alaska held her breath, looked at Levis. Her round eyes darted around. Quietness. Were they even out there anymore? Alaska plucked up the courage to peek sit upright and out the window...

Surprisingly, there were no crazies around on the second floor. "Huh.." Robert scratched his head as they headed towards the gun shop. "You think they'd be up here and all. They usually congregate wherever the weapons are in the games. Makes things rougher of course." he kept his eye's peeled for any crazies that did happen to appear on this floor.

Unfortunately, Levis and Alaska weren't so lucky on the whole, no crazies deal. A gnarled hand slapped against the window where Alaska was peering out, causing her to jump back in fear. The bus was pretty high so only arms and legs could be seen banging against the windows. "Holy crap!" Levis whined in a high pitch whisper. "What are we gonna do!?"

"Just about...there." Ivy replied, lowering the rock slowly as Wayne Manor came into view. Astro breathed a sigh of relief. He hated flying. He really really did.

The heroine couldn't resist smiling at the others. "Hey, 'least we found out if there's ever a serious zombie apocalypse, we'll survive." she teased, in a feeble attempt to make the situation lighter. A panicked thought rang through her head, making her rush the makeshift rockship to the ground. Zero...

The landing was smooth, John wrapped into what was left of the stone to keep him contained. "Lead the way, Robin." Ivy instructed, keeping an eye on the bound John. Astro followed quietly behind.

Again, Slade knew Batman was right- he MIGHT be able to hold his own against Batman alone, but throw in about ten more superheroes and even in his prime he wouldn't stand much of a chance. It wasn't grand, but Slade knew he'd have to split soon. But still.....

He looked at Batman. "I don't intend to forget this humiliation, Batman." He said, seeming to melt away into the shadows as he fled the room. But he allways had an alterior motive- somewhere, there was a medical bay. Lu.... Zero was out like a turkey, as were Dent, the Cyborg girl, and Cassius (or so he thought) and to ice the cake, that medlesome hippie was bareley alive. easy pickings. Batman shouldn't have been generous enough to let him live, and he slunk about the shadows of the Batbunker......

"Don't worry kid-o, I'll get your bag back AND wring Slade's neck." Cass said, swinging his cannon down.

Two powerful men, in the same bunker, looking for each other. It was about to go down.
