Oh no he literally lost his reality, it got like erased from existence or something. I forget I never liked him much so I never bothered to look his origins up.

But yeah he's from Earth Prime. I think it got eaten by the Anti-monitor during his whole "I must bring an end to all existence" march.

Imagine if everyone you ever loved, everyone you ever knew, suddenly died all at once. And not only that, but everything you ever knew, not even the stars themselves remained the same.

But they were the same, almost, just slightly different than how you remember. Not just the big things either, the little things too. That smell of fresh cut grass. Still there, but just slightly, not right. Same with the taste of cool water, or the sound of someone's voice. Everything is the same, but off, just slightly, just different enough to remind you of what you lost, but not similar enough to make you forget you lost them.

Imagine living in a world like that for a couple years, drive you batty too.

Yeah people don't sympathize with Superboy-Prime enough.
Alexander Luthor Junior had it just as bad, he never even got to know his parents.
He got sent away from Earth-3 where Alexander(Lex) Luthor was the only super hero left in a world full of super villains. When Earth-3 got swallowed by the Anti-Monitor's Anti-matter universe, Lex and Lois Luthor sent their son away in a reality spanning capsule to go and find help. When he arrived on Earth-1 he was a young man.

Huh, interesting, I didn't know most of this stuff.

To be fair Earth-3 is the alternate reality where all super heroes are super villains and all Super villains are Super Heroes only dead because just like how in Earth-1 the heroes are able to keep the villains in check because they're stronger, in Earth-3 the villains are able to rule because they're stronger, and have thus killed off all the heroes but Lex Luthor.

For further information on Earth-3 I recommend you visit your local Blockbuster and rent Crisis on Two Earths and quickly before your local Blockbuster goes out of business thanks to the cursed Netflicks.

The Helm of Nabu, the thing that makes Dr. Fate Dr. Fate passes to a new guardian every time Dr. Fate dies, on a couple of occasions it has been possessed by women. Nabu is a Lord of Order he's not picky when it comes to the genders.

O_O So how many Dr. Fate are there?

Only one at any given time. In one reality and all that. There's only one Helm of Nabu, but whomever has owned it since it's creation at like the beginning of time has been known as Dr. Fate. I think there's been a total of four since the character was introduced.
