Gotham City's Midnight Riders (BEGUN)

"Holy crap!! What the-??!" The sudden burst of light caught everyone in the room off gaurd as they saw Wrath begin to twist and turn in the flooded light. Cyborg aimed his sonic cannon at Wrath's head. "I know Nightwing has a bone to pick with you, but man you died twice already!! Time's up man!"

Wrath howeled in agony as the light practically vaporized his body. Droping to his hands and knees, he reverted to what he REALLy was- Slade wilson. His body, his REAL body, was hideously burned, and from what it looked, it appeared soem animal had tried to eat him at some point. His mask was burned to his face and broekn, casiung it to go up and down wiht his face when he spoke. "How... how could I be beaten like this!?" he choked out, shuffling to the shadows to make a hasty escape. He was no longer interested in fighting, all he wanted to do was get his ass out!

(O_o...)

"Don't ya know Slade?" Karmy said turning the portal straight to him. "The good guys always win!" the light was now right on top of him.

Cyborg charged his blaster and let out a furiously powerful beam of sound and energy........

As the beam blasted Wrath in half, his ring glowed faintly. he had been deeply injured, and his ring didn't work in the lght. But the force of the blast shot his now bisected body into the shadows. Despite being in pure abject agony, he managed to get enough clairvoyance to begin to melt into the shadows- and he stoped promptly as A surge of bullets carved him apart, courtsey of Ghost. A final blast from Cyborg succeded in totally obliterating Wrath's body, leaving only his charred mask...

"Boo-ya.." Cyborg said blowing on his cannon and standing straight. They started to investigate the dead remains of Wrath. "Hey, this is the Black Lantern ring? Is it any good?" He asked as if he though they could use it to their advantage...

Casius joined Cyborg in investigating where Wrath's body had disintigrated, but the only thing remaining was that ghastly mask. "Nah, maybe it vaporized with him?" Casius ponedered. "Possibly- when I defeated Sloth, her right went with her." Sarah confirmed.

(O_O! Hmmm..... I wonder....)

Karmy closed the portal and let out a sigh of relief. "That nap did do me good though." she muttered to herself. Walking over to the group to look at the remains. "Hey Cas, if we find it, could we use it to free Zero?"

Casius pondered for a second. "I don't know, I never heard of anyhting like that being done before. But I don't see why not." He said, a quick boost of optomism in his bloodstream.
[I has plans for him- and Evy also o_O]

"Oh y'mean Nightwing's homeboy? Where is he? I thought he'd be wit you guys.." Cyborg said recalling the name.

"Oh well.." Karmys shoulders slumped and her face fell. "He died 4 years ago while we were still living in the tower. An over exposure of radiation killed him.."

"Oh.. Man....... He's not gonna like it when he hears that man.. Damn I knew we should have kept closer contact with you guys.. Ugh dammit. That probably wouldn't have happened if we made a visit... F***..."

(Kinda just BSin this for a few more posts O_o... then comes the sad post XD!)

"What were y'all doing for all those years anyways?" Karmy asked.

"Hey we was on world clock baby! We went to Paris, kicked butt there, Indonesia; kicked butt there too, China; kicked major butt there, Argentina; kicked butt there, all across America; kicked butt all the time, Brazil; kicked butt there..." He went on and on...

"Damn!! Y'all have been just about everywhere I've gone!" Karmy laughed. "Have you been to Cape cod? Damn they have some mighty fine noms there!"

"We only ate at home base. Its up in space.. Hey a rhyme!" Cyborg said with enthusiasm. Raven had been searching in the ashes when finally... "Is this is?" Raven asked holding up a dinged up patheticlly ring shaped piece of metal.

Karmy laughed when Cyborg rhymed. "Hey yeah! It looks just like the one Zero was wearing. Now if only we knew how to use it.." she poked at it

Casius took the ring and examined it. "Well, this is his ring all right. A miracle it remained intact. I wonder how it works." he asked. Out of curiosity, he tried to slip the ring on his finger- a big mistake. The moment he did, his armor began to dinge up and become black and white, odd symbols covering it. He immediateley became angry at everything and everyone that moved. Before he lost total control, he swiftly removed it. "Words of the wise: do NOT put the damn thing on." he said, taking deep breaths form the radical change.

"Whoa Casius." Karmy said appraoching him. "Are you ok."

"Yeah, i'm fine. But somehow, those rings... they make the lantern what it is. I put it on, and I felt angry at everything. It controls them, manipulates their emotions." Casius said, recovered from his little emotional trip.

Ivy had stiffened slightly when they mentioned Zero. The thought of freeing him was not new to her, but there was an actual hope now. Figure out the ring, free the Lanterns. If they could, who knows who else they may bring back? For all she knew one of them could be the god damn Batman! She smiled at that small joke, like they could get Batman into a Lantern.

C-Could they?

She shook the thought away immediately, turning her attention instead to Casius's almost transformation with the ring. "Interesting...."

"Well yeah, I can see that with Slade and everything." Karmy said. "But like.. With Zero, he seemed a bit in control. He even said while I fought him that he didn't want to kill me at one point."

"Wait wait wait y'all! How do we know for sho it could bring back Zero? I mean hell! For all we know it's just a tool of destruction!" Cyborg said. "Well we could try." Starfire said with hope. "Yeah but if you can't even wear it, what do you do with it?" Raven asked pessimistic as ever.

Casius suddenly perked up at soemhting. "YOu say he was inb control? Did you get a good look at his ring, like the shape of the lantern on it?" Casius asked. A lantern wasn't supposed to have ANY control of himself.

"I don't know.." Karmy began heading for the exit. "Come on guys lets get outta here!"
