The Darkest of Knights

"Ooohh hahah that guy?" Robert laughed along with Bard. "Sorry to hear that man but like... He got evicted from his own hideout or something. That guy is such a pathetic excuse for a villain! But yeah... So, how are we gonna get outta this mess?"

"Tssshhhhh.. hell if I know. Trying to come up with something." Bard said leaning his head back against the cold metallic frame of the elevator. "How'd your parents die?" He asked trying to stir up more chit chat that he was aiming for. Maybe he'd figure a way out by the time they were done.

"Five rocks? Hmm...." Ivy considered this. "It'd be easier to get one large chunk. I'll try." She volunteered, going to the window. It took only a few moments, but a rock that was roughly 6 feet all around was rising. It quivered and shook, shaking off any hanger on crazies.

The rock floated up to the window where the heroine stepped onto it, lifting John and Luna onto it through the use of air orbs. Astro quickly followed. "This was a good idea, Nicky. Hop on." She praised.

"Well you see, my parents were part of the Red Cross association in Kenya." Robert told the story. "I was around a year old when they went off on another mission , leaving me with my godparents here in Gotham. It had been about a month and they were in a small village a good ways away from the capitol city, distributing medicine for Malaria and what not to the villagers. There had been sitings of Guerrillas not to far away so everyone was on edge." he sighed.

"My mother was the first to be hit, in the chest. It was a quick painless death I suppose, that's what the head of the camp said. My father was one of the men who fought back and was captured, along with the head. They were forced to give all the medicine and supplies to the rebels, but my dad he... He spoke out against them. The head refused to tell me what happened after that, truth be told, I'd rather not know. Francis, that was the heads name, managed to escape but he was the only one. He managed to get to the American embassy and they sent him back home." he sighed again and looked at Bard.

Bard was looking at Bay, he felt sick to his stomach and looked away when they met eyes. He really shouldn't have mentioned his parents. "Your parents. They seem like really good guys." He said pulling his hair back. Their guns were loaded, he thought maybe they could make a break for it on another floor. He had to figure out which floor though. "Any lovers in your life?" Jason continued to probe, hoping it wasn't such a fragile issue as his parents were.

"Ohh yeah.." Robert's eyes suddenly because dreamy and a idiotic grin spread across his face. "She's as colorful as the rainbow, her eye's intoxicating, her hair smooth and the blue makes it seem like waves on the midnight horizon." he sighed again, smile still on his face. His eye's twinkled as pictured her face. "And her smile... It makes me melt like a stick of butter on a hot Texas day."

Karmy wasn't smiling right now, well, not in a happy way that's for sure. She was laughing as she woke up, trying to figure out were she was as her eyes came into focus.

"God damn it." Edward muttered to himself, as he watched everyone fall. The man was tougher than he thought. He'd have to adjust this if he planned on getting anything done.
"I hate how you all fight back." he said, half-spitting the words out to the general area. It was petty, yes. He needed time to think though.

"Huh.." Jason smiled, ha hadn't smiled in such a long time it hurt. His description of Karmy would have fit the same he had for Barbara, though he knew there wasn't a chance. She had always loved Dick, and he had to find someone else, otherwise he'd feel lonely for the next sixteen years. He had to move on and he knew it. "Y'know... I've been to this mall a thousand times." He sighed. "Been out to a date here too. Synergy is a great mall for dates. I use to take my date up to the top floor, and since I was a police officer I had security codes to get to the roof top..." He said. "Are you thinking... What I'm thinking?"

"Well I'm thinking of Karmy, so hopefully not." Robert gave Bard an odd look and stood. "Oh I have an idea!" he raised his finger "You still have the old security code's right? So let's go to the roof!" he pointed out, oblivious to what Bard had been talking about. "Maybe we'll meet up with some people on the way up there."

Bard slapped his face laughing. "Haha, yeah right. Like more zombies coming to give us more hickies." Bard said getting up to stretch and pushing the button to the top floor. He picked up the .22 he used earlier, his M9, and an SA Vz 61 Scorpion.

"I'd love for Karmy to give me a hickie.." Robert said to himself quietly. After realizing what he just said, he quickly slapped himself hard in the face. "No! That's not what you're supposed to go for!" he hissed to himself. Seeing Bard giving him a odd look, he quickly changed the subject. "So why do you call them zombies?" he asked curiously.

Jason was slightly freaked ou at his weird behavior, the bite marks on his neck still hurt like a mother. Knowing it was best to forget anything happened. The bell to the elevator chimed. "Well what the hell do you wanna call em?" Bard asked as crazies turned their heads to them as the elevator doors open.

"She's waking up. If you wanna do it you better do it fast." Alice's voice echoed through Karmy's head. "Right, hold her steady." Batman's voice muffled through. Batman injecter her with the antidote he's been working on. "This is just a test Alice, it may not work the first time." Batman warned. "I know Karmy can pull through. I know she can." Alice responded.

"Hmmm...." Robert looked at the crazies, noticing the wild look in their eyes and the fact that each and every one of them had blood and saliva coming from their mouths. "I'm reminded of a rabid raccoon I once saw as a kid! I say we call them Coonies!" he readied his guns and bolted, shooting as he ran.

Ah no such luck. Whatever had been in the syringe did not mix well with the toxins that were already in Karmys systems. A few seconds after the injection entered her blood stream, she began squirm and cough uncontrollably, her eye's clenched shut in pain.

"Let's just... Stick with zombies." Jason said running down the hall firing off into their legs to get the drop on them quickly with his Vz.

"Shh! You hear that? Oh geez. I said shut up! Listen! More gunfire!" Alaska said happily to the two men she met on the way to her safety. "That must mean some sane people are here! Or something! C'mon! They must have called a rescue team or something!"

"Holy Wrong Antidote Batman! That's not working!" Alice panicked, "She's in pain! What now? Is she gonna live?" She asked. "She'll live, I need to make some tweaks. Stay with her for now." Batman said rushing back out.

Robert leaped up and roundhouse kicked a crazy in the face before running after Bard. "Let's head for the stairs!" he shouted over the screaming and laughing.

"The rescue team?!" The Panty Raider questioned. "There is no rescue team! We're all gonna die!" he whined as he followed Alaska and a large black man by the the name of Luis Bear. "And with stains on our pants!!" he whimpered. "You're gonna die?! Man I'm gonna die first!" Luis said as a matter of factly.

Eventually, Karmys coughs turned back to laughs, but she still couldn't out where she was. All she knew right now was that whoever was holding onto her, she wanted to bite and tear apart.

"Look, no one's gonna die! We just stick together and we'll be fine! Just watch!" Alaska smiled at them, then a bullet went screaming into her leg and she dropped to the floor. "Oh sh*t!" Jason shouted over the laughter. Alaska was screaming in pain and agony. "Bay! I think I just shot a civilian!" He said approaching the group.

"Just hang in there Karmy, just hang in there. We're gonna fix you up. I promise we will." Alice said still holding her down and crying, the emotional downpour on her was overwhelming, and she hated doing this to her best friend. "I promise.. We're going to save you first."

"Holy sh*t!" Robert ran over to Alaska and picked her up. "We can't take care of her here man, we need to get to the roof!" he pointed to the stairs. "We should find a first aid kit though, you!" he pointed to Luis and Levis. "Try and go find one so we can fix her up!" he half ordered and half asked.

Karmy tried to say a mean remark back to Alice, but all that came out was a jumble of nonsense and laughs.

Bard was freaking out, he ran to the door that lead out to the roof, he punched in the code and failed twice, on the third try he opened it up. Bard took off his belt and holster, he wrapped it around Alaska's leg. "This is gonna hurt, but we have to get the bullet out of your leg." Bard explained, Alaska couldn't feel her leg, her head was spinning and all she could do was scream in pain. Eventually Luis and Levis came up with medical supplies and they shut the door before any crazies could get to them. "C'mon! We gotta do this now!"

"Karmy, don't fret, relax, please... Please." She begged still crying. Batman came in with a new antidote. "This may not be the last one." Batman said. "Do it." Alice urged, and he injecter her with the shot.

"Hold her still Bard!" Robert said as he rummaged through the kit. He found a large pair of medical tweezers and a bottle of rubbing alcohol. "Sorry miss but this is gonna hurt.. A lot." he warned her before pouring the liquid over the wound. Trying his best to ignore her screaming, he held her leg down with his knee and fished around in the wound for the wound. "Oh my god they're gonna hear us and we're gonna die and its gonna hurt and ksjsflhn dsaflkn hadln!" the Panty Raider spazed out, running around in circles screaming his head off.

Karmy was in and out of consciousness by now, her nose was bleeding and she was hallucinating as if she had been dosed with Fear Toxin again.

"Can someone shut that pants guy up before I put a bullet in his leg?!" Bard asked holding her still as best he could, he subconsciously gave Alaska his hand in which she bit down on to substitute her screaming, Bard didn't mind it, he was able to hold her down easier. Luis bopped the back of The Panty Raider's head. "Shut up man! Or else I'm gonna die! Y'all know the black guy is gonna die! It always happens in the movies! So shut yo face!"

"Try again!" Alice panicked more trying to lean Karmy's head back to help the nose bleed. "Dammit, this is going to take all night." Batman cursed under his breath. "Don't worry Karmy, I got you... I got you..." Alice encouraged, "Be strong..."

"Are you kidding me!?" Levis asked, rubbing the back of his head. "It's always the scared white guy that goes first!" he yelled up at Luis. Robert focused on his work as he pulled out the piece of hot metal and tossed it away. "Almost done Ma'am." he assured her and took out some medical tape and gauze. After cleaning up the would, he tied it tight so that the bleeding would stop from the pressure. "Would you two just shut up!"

Through all the laughing and screaming, a whimper that sounded like the real Karmy escaped her bloody lips. They were getting closer but the contents and methods were wrong..

The team finished fixing Alaska's leg and they finally set her down. The door to the roof was being banged on, muffled laughs behind the door could be heard. Jason also had the chance to finlly look at the girl he shot. "Hey... Hey you're Alaska Flowers from Gotham City Action News aren't you?" Jason asked excited. Alaska nodded. "Most people think I'm a giant douche in person..."
"Oh gee, hey I'm really sorry for shooting up your leg, I was with my partner, we were shooting everyone.."
"Understandable."
"Really? I mean I dunno, I never shot anyone innocent before, I mean I-"
"Its okay." Alaska sighed leaning her head back.

"Karmy..." Alice spoke through her tears. She knew that Batman wanted to have the full antidote's effect, she had to stop entreating her to make sure the strong-willed Karmy would come out from the antidote alone. Alice continued to cry.

"It happens man." Robert patted him on the shoulder. "But I think that they're gonna get through eventually.." he looked back at the door. "We need to cause a distraction.." he looked over at Luis and Levis. "Got any plans, Bard?" he whispered to him.

The screaming finally stopped, but Karmy continued to laugh as a small amount of blood continued to dribble from her nose.

"I wanna know who those two clowns are really.." Bard muttered back. "And we are safe... Safe for now. Did you get bit anywhere?" He asked if they really were in a zombie movie and getting bit meant you were infected. "We were all Left for Dead." Alaska cried out to them. "Left for Dead.. For Dead..."

"Batman! Is the antidote coming in anytime soon!?" Alice asked impatiently. "I don't want to mess up this time Alice, be a little more patient." Batman called out. Alice though holding Karmy down, hugged her.

"We're not dead yet ma'am." Robert said as he checked over his body for any bite marks. All he came across was a large laceration on his arm. "Ahh sh***t..." he hissed as he got a look at the wound. It had already stopped bleeding, blood caked all around. After quickly cleaning it up and wrapping it, he turned towards Bard and asked, "How about you buddy, any wounds?"

If Karmys body would have alllowed it, she would have attacked Alice right then since she was still not in her right state of mind.
