Gotham City's Midnight Riders (BEGUN)

"I don't know, I..." but as Karmy and Carillon sat in the lush landscape, everything seemed to shatter away. The sound of a bullet suddenly entered their ears, and the sound of a falling bell echoed all around. As the beautiful world shattered away, Carillon cried out in panic. "Karmy, what's happening?!" she cried, but soon Karmy was gone. She found herself on the ground, stunned form the shot. Her silver bell was dented, and was lying roughly 40 feet away from her on the ground.

"You won't make it to round three though!" Joker laughed as he dodged the shot. He ran up behind Sarah and held her like a human shield. "Play nice daddy! I don't think you want another dead child."

And then the bam burst. First ben then SYNG, and now Joker. Casius had taken all he could bear and then some. And to make it worse, Joker knew he already had a dead child. Only Karmy knew Zero was his son- didn't she?
Nonetheless, Casius could bear no more. Joker still had his helmet, Casius still had a few tricks in his sleve. jabing a button on his controler, a blast visor cut off Joker's vision. Using the blinding as a distraction, Casius charged him, knocking him away form Sarah. He aimed his EMP cannon at the joker. "Play nice, Joker. This game is for two players only." He threatened.

(Joker see's all Red O-o)

"One thing you have to learn about me Casius." Joker said and ripped off the helmet. He jumped up and slammed the helmet on the Casiu's head backwards. "Lets put a smile on that face." and Joker slammed another Laugh-X pellet on the ground, engulfing both Casius and Sarah.

Casius whipe dhis mask around and fliped a switch on the side, quickly engaging a gas-mask funtion. Sarah, still a drone for the Joker, had no such protectiong, so she began to dryly laugh. "You'll pay for that!" Casius hissed. He reache dover to his cannon, and snaped soemhting off of it- a safety device. venting power formt he suit into the gun, he fired a massive, charged blast of blue energy right at the Joker.

Before Joker had any time to react, the blast hit him square in the chest and he slammed into the wall. A gaping, smoldering hole was now in the middle of his body.

"That's not funny." and Joker fell flat on his face, dead.

(That was actually an awesome post karmy... good last words for someone as crazy as the Joker o_o)

Ghost stepped on the bell, pressing over 300 pounds of manpower on it, when he lifted his foot from the ground, there only lay shards of what use to be a silver bell. "A Time out is in order missy." His scratchy robotic voice chimes to her.

Mercy runs over to Karmy and picks her up. "Karmy! Karmy are you okay?" She asks. Artanis and Aurora breaks free from their binds and Ivy is set free from her mind control. "Ugh.. god," Aurora griped "could your vines be any tighter Ivy?" She asked. "Heh, sorry... you know I didn't mean to." ivy responded. "Yeah yeah, its all good." Aurora said aching. "I do admit," Artanis said spreading his large wings, "you do have a mighty grip."

Casius walked over to the rest of the group. He snatched up CHarmer by the back of his shirt and walked over to the Joker. "Give your bosses a mesage, courtsey of Casius: anyone, and I mean ANYONE else,that tries to come after my daughter, will end up like him. Get it?" He said, pointing to what used to be the joker. It was probably a harsh example, but Casius was beyond the point of caring if he was harsh to atackers while keeping his family safe.

Karmy picked her self up from the ground groggily. "Yeah I'm fine Mercy." she said. Even though she hadn't gotten the fullattack from Carillon, a slight bit of blood ran from her nose. Reaching into her bag, she pulled out a syringe and tossed it to Casius, "Its for Sarah. It's the antidote for the Jokers laughing gas." she said as he caught it. He nodded his head in thanks and walked to Sarah. Karmy then started walking towards Carillon.

Carillon scrambled to the ground where her bell shards now lay. "No... no not again..." she mumbled to herself frantically, beginning to cry. "This is the 3rd time this week... what will SYNG do? What will Twoface do?" Carillon began to weap as she held the little shards delicately in her hand.

"You should run." Karmy said looming over Carillon. "Thata what I did. Or did you already know that?"

Carillon sniffled for a moment and tried to wipe away her tears. "no... no I was taught never to run... They'll probably send me to level 11 rehabilitation, but... but I have to do it. I can't be spineless like Seth. And besides... I have nowhere to run to..." Carillon sat down on the ground next to the bell shards, a look of surrender on her face.

"Level 11 rehabilitation?" Karmy asked. "What do they do to you kids?"

Carillon looked down in shame. "Level 1 rehabilitation is simply the training room. When you reach level 5 you will be brainwashed to become more malleable. At level 10 they genetically and surgically alter your brain and genetic structure in a final attempt at keeping control of you, and there is a high chance the surgery will be unsuccessful. At level 11... they..." Carillon's voice trailed off, quivering slightly. "I... I don't want to go back.." she said sadly, looking up at Karmy.

"Then don't." Karmy said crouching down to look her in the eyes. She was still a bit tired from the last trippy trip into Carillons dreamscape but she ignored it for the moment. "Do you have any family?"

"Well, my mommy and daddy sent me to SYNG when I was a baby, so that I would have a bright future. My Aunt Eliza is always helping me, though." Carillon looked around, and saw the fighting was still going on in the distance. "I don't remember them, but..." Carillon looked down at one of the larger bell shards. She plucked her finger against it, and a short, high note sprang forth from the small shard. It lasted but a millisecond, but it was long enough to flood Karmy's mind with a short glimpse of a man and a woman holding a baby. "I've seen pictures, and I sometimes wonder what they're like," Carillon said after seeing Karmy's expression.

Karmy shook her head to clear it. "Are you sure they were the ones to send you to SYNG?" she asked. She had known that with people like SYNG, they would do anything to get their power hungry fingers on whatever they desired.

"Well, no, but Aunt Eliza told me they did. She said they insisted I join, because then I'd be able to grow in a kind and nourishing environment," Carillon said with a twinkle in her eye.

Karmy's eyes furrowed, "Is she really your aunt?"

"Of course she is!" Carillon replied defensively. Slowly her expression went to a look of wonder. "At least... she says she is..."

"She says she is huh." Karmy said looking around for Eliza. "Can she PROVE that she is?" she asked not being able to spot her anywhere.

"A'ight, well this is all heartwarming but excuse me ladies." Ghost said looking down his scope and booming an ear piecing .50 Cal shot in the fray.

Carillon jumped at the sound of the gun, then turned back to Karmy. "Well... no... " she said quietly, "But grownups never tell lies," she said confidently.... as confidently as a 6-year-old can be, anyway.

"HA! Then you don't know politicians!" Ghost said, cocking his gun back.

"Grownups lie." Karmy said looking Carillon straight in the eyes. "Companies lie. You have been lied to Carillon. I'm sure of it."
